A ton of people left Colemen in the 1930's as there was simply no work there. My Grandfather left and went to New Mexico and Oklahoma looking for work and eventually ended up in California. Grandma left right after to follow him. There was a lot of work in California in those days with good housing and pay. Grandma & Grandpa still took the Colemen newspaper and stayed in touch with their friends and family there until they died. You could take the Texans out of Texas, but you couldn't take the Texan out of them.
