I think, for the first attempt, you did a good job. I'm sure everyone that started out had their share of trial and error. This gives me the courage to start painting Sage.

      You’re sweet……I can’t believe I’m doing this…..I always said I wouldn’t. It’s fun actually! Except the hair…..that’s gonna take practice!

Wow! So exciting! I think you're doing really well! And I don't think the hair looks bad at all! I have everything I need now too and plan to start painting tomorrow 😬😂 Im watching some more videos first. It seems everyone has their own method, favorite paint, and style. To me it seems like the hardest part is getting started, finding the right color mix and seeing what works ya know? I think once you get through a few, you will figure it all out. I appreciate you sharing with us! Ive learned so much from you. Im going to be just like you, set up in my basement 😁 nothing wrong with that. You have a nice work area! Ill have to check the book out too. Thanks so much again for sharing! ✌️🤗

I have the same thing nursery/craft room not in the house but in my sunroom I don’t have a basement. So nice of you to take us so long on your journey. I am on my ninth baby, so I’m still pretty new but I prefer heat set paint. I also watched Annette. She’s the one that first showed me how to Reborn. I’ve been watching her probably 3 to 4 years now I love her channel.
Good job 👍🏻 it takes LOTS of practice!!! I listened to a bunch of videos. Ya have to find out what YOU like best. You’re braver than I am 😂 I can’t do painted hair. I started with rooting.
That’s funny 😆 I got my dishes from goodwill also!!
I like sweet potato pie nursery also!
No you don’t put that MATTE stuff between layers.
It’s late for me too. I have a very messed up schedule so I’m up all hours of the night.
I’m continuing to learn new things all the time!!❤❤❤

Could you tell me if heat set is easier than acrylic? I would love to know! ❤❤❤

Thanks for taking us along on this journey!! It's a learning curve for sure, you did really good for your first attempt!! Maybe you can find a video that uses Folk art paints that can answer some of your questions? Simone xo

Good idea!! I’ll look! I wish I knew which was easier……heat set or acrylics? The only way to really know is to try them both. But I’m sticking with acrylics for now.

Your first is pretty impressive! I hate seeing too much color on lips and creases, it looks so unnatural. Yours looks good. The hair, to me, looks like the most difficult part to paint. So far, so good on your baby’s noggin. Thanks for sharing! We’re excited too! 😊

You did an amazing job. The hair is looking good. I don’t know much about air dry paints, I started with genesis and I guess that’s where I’ll stay. I set my nuwave oven just outside when baking, I don’t like the smell, fumes aren’t good to breathe. I get all my glass paint dishes from goodwill…or dollar tree.

Ive heard an artist say after u get done painting the baby and vefore hair to go ahead and do a varnish/sealer layer because that way if u dont like ur hair u have a better chance to remove any hair mistakes and i think u need to thin ur hair paint more and do more layers with dry tine in between. Like the hair u have is good but just add more layers. I found a hair one i teally like and i will try to find it and put the link here. I know its a person name and she doesnt have avton of reborn videos but her hair one is amazing.

Me too! I know she uses GHSP but I also learned you can follow along with acrylics…..you just use the same colors and of course I wouldn’t use paint thinners. But anyway, I love her! She’s amazing! If I could be half as good as her, I’ll be happy! lol!

What brand of airdry paints are you using? I use air dry paints and the brand I use has a primer that you put on the vinyl after you wash and prep the kit and the primer helps the paint to stick and not bead up. The paints that I use are the reborn fx paints and they seem to work really well. I’ve been reborning for over 24 years and I prefer air dry paints but I occasionally use genesis heat set paints. I’ve used several brands of air drys and had success with a lot but they sometimes discontinue them and I’ve had to find other brands to use. I’m here if you have questions.

I’ve been working with air dry paint and painting babies for a year now, and I’m still learning. Recently I started recording my painting. I’m not great at that. I keep forgetting where to keep the kit so the recording area. Everything takes time to learn. The best suggestion I have is to keep trying. You learn from your mistakes. Oh and hydrogen peroxide can help remove mistakes. I made a video showing how it works.

Your first baby is Fantastic. You should have seen my first attempt 😢it looked like it had been playing in the mud😂. Ask Annette from Aussie Reborn supplies, she is happy to give advice. She paints with heat set and air dry paints so she knows both mediums

Put some varnish in your paint
