    In 2009, Delpo, Berdych, Davydenko, and Soderlin were playing really well.
    And Roger got his French open, what an interesting year.

    The sunny hot day put Federer in trouble, and Berdych was also ruthless with nothing to lose. But as the afternoon progressed, the sun subsided and then Roger found his energy and game to complete the comeback.

      Doesn't heat make the court faster? If so then it should help federer.

      They've slowed down the hard courts in recent memory, and I think it's partially why Djokovic has had such success. He's all defense and the slow courts favor that

      @@TheGodsMustBeCrazy Although I completely agree that slower courts favor Djokovic but I wish people would stopping calling his or even Murray's style defensive. Even Federer himself said in an interview that he doesn't consider these two's style defensive, their shots do have more spin and less speed but are a still lot more penetrating than it appears on camera and their placement is immaculate.

    • @josiahbrown7258
      @josiahbrown7258 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No he wouldn't. What set the big 4 apart wasn't their aggression but their ability to defend and win the big points. Berdych, Tsonga, Cilic, Del Potro were all big hitters with high peaks and great results. They never maintained such ultra high levels over the course of a few weeks let a lone a full season. The last player with that type of style to be no1 was Marat Safin and he was smaller than all those guys and a better mover and his peak did not last either. Injuries pile up on big guys faster. Realistically Pete was big power player to be no1 ans he dominated the sport. But the game was very different and he relied on fast courts with little success. So no, Berdych would not have been no1 with this form. Novak, Rafa and probably murray who are better defenders would have stopped him. Just look at his h2h against them.
