Excellent presentation! In 1981, I needed to move from Wallowa Co. because of the declining lumber industry in the early 1980's. I only lived there 5 years, but the land holds remarkable memories for me. I was the breakfast/lunch cook at the Wallowa Lodge for a year or so. I recall the sourdough pancakes we would make from a sourdough starter that was over 100 years old! Winters are tough up there and not for the faint of heart. From Wallowa, I moved to be near family who were living in Las Vegas. The transition from the mountains to a concrete village was disappointing to say the least.

I am from Eugene, Oregon. Right now I am visiting Wallowa, Oregon. This place is beyond beautiful. Video and pictures do not show half of its beauty.

This is beautiful footage of one of the world's most beautiful places, Oregon. But respectfully, Grant, please take it down a notch.

I was born in lagrande and raised in wallowa county I actually lived up at the lake on property owned by my family since the turn of the last century about 1890 sometime I spent a lot of time on that lake and let me tell you when you wipe out on watterskis in the middle of the lake you feel like something is going to come up and eat you!! So you learn to start off the dock and come back to as close as you can get to it !! Lol but I do know there are things in those mountains that are not seen much and it can get down right creepy out there at night or even in the day time . Just stay vigilant if you go and keep your kids close in the high country. It's a beautiful place though. My grandpa called it God's country. Thanks.

Because there’s a lake monster! I went swimming there at night with some other teens. Even right next to the shore it felt like something was going to grab us from under the water.

Grant, you need to come here in 2023 for updates and come in January for the snowy mountains, the skiing at Fergie, the dog sled races. The lodge was going to be sold and torn down but with fundraiser etc is now run by shareholders and undergoing much needed repairs.

He forgot to include the deer in the campground that will eat out of your hand. And sadly are full of ticks that are highly visable.

At, 3:38, CORRECTION: "Ideally thinking about the history of the Nez Perce and how important this land IS to them" not "WAS" - living people! Not dead! Nice try, though; the effort is appreciated. Educate!
