I drive by this project often, it is a clean design and an organized job site. A good testament to the project management team, the contractor and the benefits of the Sketchup modeling team. I used Sketchup for years working on the Microsoft retail stores, I knew there would be a use for this type of organization for the whole project, but I was a crew of one, both drawing the models and building the mockups, no time for setting up models of this depth. They could have used models that were this detailed. Now that I have retired, working with Sketchup is the only thing I miss about the job. Good on you, Rachel and your crew. And good on Turner for seeing the bigger picture. Continued success for you all!
The detailing in the models is awesome. It would be interesting to know if the modelling is aided with plugins (What ones or developed themselves) or if they were mainly native drawn?
The packages and certifications would be great for retooling - Autocad 9 was last then the lock down to ip was started. Became too expensive to learn...id be into site development of I could afford it.
It pity that we did have Sketchup for I worked on , we used micostation a separate project manageect program with weekly update. The project was Singapore North East Railway 2/12.5k of TBM (Tunnel boring machine) and five underground station. I was the team leader for 120 professional engineer of discipline, architect, project management team. I will be getting Plus Design Build. To do a project Southern Qld which includes three prefabricated passive house building, 2250m2 PV and 4MW batteries
