I think the reporter did a great job by congratulating him for the race win first. It really made Lewis feel more comfortable for his questionable action and open up his inner feelings. You can see it in his eyes in the beginning.

      "Questionable action "
Literally nothing questionable about it...They already had the constructors title wrapped up, so only the drivers title could be resolved, and it was down to him and Nico (because the engine failure in Malaysia by itself caused something like a 30 point swing in the championship)
He never caused a collision, or even got close to doing that... he literally didn't do anything wrong, and arguably did the best thing he could to try and win the title.
But haters like you will always find reasons to shit on him, how you gonna trash a guy for wanting to win...in a competitive sport...ridiculous.

    • @FareastSN
      @FareastSN 4 ปีที่แล้ว +68

      "Questionable"
Put yourself on his position lol. I'm not consider myself as Hamilton fans (I don't like his primadona off-track image but that's pretty much it), but even I could honestly admit had I was in his position I would do the same. It's the culmination of your entire season that was on the line there, wouldn't just let my teammate and rival had it on silver platter.

Niki Lauda said it best. Rosberg retired because the continued intense battle with Lewis would have hurt him. Lewis is a natural, when you fight with naturals sooner or later you get hurt. Good move by Rosberg to listen to his wife and get out on top. Best move indeed.

You're right, one of the greatest thing about him is his consistency. @karimshebeika8010 4 ปีที่แล้ว +51

exactly my thoughts. I dont watch that much F1, mostly MMA, but there are a lot of parallels (as in all rule based competition). Recently a fighter was getting shit for quitting a fight after getting knocked down with an illegal knee. He won because his opponent got disqualified. I couldnt believe what I read online afterwards. What was the dude (Diego Sanchez) supposed to do? Continue a fight that he was loosing anyway after getting knocked down illegally? Take extra damage to put on a show and make less money? I mean comon, the people who play nice didnt even make it to that level and that is why people who didnt make it to that level think theyd act differently.

This race was literally just Rosberg vs. Hamilton for the championship with Merc already sealing the constructor's. He was super good, and he probably could have challenged lewis even nowadays with max in red bull, but he didnt need to. He had a family, and he got the most prestigious award in F1, and leaving at the end of 2016 means that he leaves at the top of his game, and that he was at the time, better than lewis.
Him leaving made sense for his own life, lewis' life, and future of F1. While there obviously have been disagreements in the 2021 season, there haven't been much between the drivers since rosberg left. These are the types of videos where the Lewis fanboys and the Lewis haters come to fight. Any driver will do anything to win. Lewis was 12 points behind Nico to win the WDC. He wanted to back Nico up for Sebastian and Max to pass him. Not the best team strategy, but who cares, they already won the WCC, it's all about the WDC now. If Nico finished 4th, then Lewis wins, but Nico managed to hold on. After getting beaten by Lewis for two years. This is a well deserved WDC for Rosberg, and a good fight from Lewis.

    • @ryanjonathanmartin3933

Oh yes, a lot of Lewis fans lie to portray Rosberg as an average driver who won on luck in 2016. If that's the case then Hamilton getting beaten by an "average driver" looks even worse on Hamilton than it does on Rosberg. Truth of the matter is that Rosberg capitalised on whatever happened to Hamilton (poor starts, mechanical issues which gave him grid penalties, his shocking Baku weekend) and attained the best possible results in those races. That is exactly what you have to do to win.

Honestly Mercedes was disrespectful to Lewis in this, telling him to let Rosberg win. Lewis still had a very slim chance. They've since then made up and won 4 more so ok, it's firmly in the past now. Rosberg also did absolutely everything conceivable earn his championship too. But it took quite a toll on the team and I don't think their relationship will ever be the same again. Rosberg was so spent he quit for good reason. Toto himself admitted later on that Rosberg was the one who played many more mind games behind the scenes. In the end Lewis's bad luck at Malaysia made more of a difference than anything else.

@@Bananananananannananananna one, F1 was never built on dominance or having the best car. 50s, 60s, 70s 80s guys died trying to pull the most out of their cars. So I’m thankful to see that now, the racers might not have to go to the extreme extents.
two, on that same token, people like Jim Clark and Rindt won championships in very fragile cars. Jim Clark we also should know raced in some of the worst cars, ex Lotus. One season he managed one win and the rest were dnfs. Jim beat everyone somehow and we praised him for that. He was dominant in and out of the best machinery.
With all of that being said, Hamilton is a chump. He is no different of a driver than to Button or Vettel who were also just good. Machinery has played a huge role in Hamilton’s career. Still the driver on the field with the best reliability rates. This computes to his 7 championships. If you compare this to Shumacher, he faced more reliability issues that Hamilton. A season where if he didn’t win or was on the podium he didn’t finish. He also states that “having car trouble is apart of Formula 1”.
Hamilton is only a 7 timer because he’s been able to finish the most races than anybody else. Greatness goes beyond driving the best car. Rindt lost out to a championship while he was leading the race. And then he died with three races to go. Hamilton has also only been dominant to mediocre teammates and competition racers.
Hamilton’s car is damn near second best, at worst third. To hear this man cry every race weekend is atrocious. Last weekend he stated that racing in Monaco isn’t fun….
This guy is a joke to me and to the sport. Vettel as well. Fast rookies that are fish out water with the best car. And with the best car in high stakes, make mistakes and lose out in championships.
To a teammate, Alonso has never lost in a champion fight. Lewis cost himself the championship in China. And lost to Rosberg. One tie one loss. Alonso has none. Only coming second in inferior machinery to outside competition. Vettel cost himself the championship so many times it’s hilarious.
Jimmy Clark, Jackie Stewart, J. Rindt, Fangio, and Alonso ect all were championships with and without. One could argue that Alonso was a champion with a mediocre car twice to two other champions. The record books are stained with this prick. Hamilton without a fast car, is nothing. He has no guts.
As I said before, better machinery saved us, but it’s made a mockery for long enough. The cars are great. The drivers aren’t.

With all due respect to a once in a generation driver like lewis - on this ocasion the better man did win. Lewis may be the better driver - but the absolute dedication, analysis, sacrifice and complete focus nico put into the second half of this season is a testament to human capacity. i get if you want to say its all jokes, but he was both right and wrong. hamilton did technically lose the championship because of malaysia, but rosberg had also had terrible mechanical luck during their time as teammates. the 2017 ferrari was the better car off the bat, and had the upper hand on tracks like Mexico where the Merc couldnt maximize its power unit advantage. the reason hamilton was able to 'steal' the championship was because of Ferrari's awful weekends in Asia and in the Americas; he maximized points whenever vettel or ferrari made a mistake, while the scuderia couldnt do the same. the merc & hamilton had the more consistent car, while ferrari & vettel were just outright 'fast'. i think he gloated so much because of the stress from losing 2016 lol, and 2017 did not look good for him in the first half

Look at the body language and discontentment in Lewis during this interview. Being a fan of F1, it was sooo difficult seeing Lewis in this position. Never gonna forget what happened in Malaysia. Still though; just imagine if Lewis hadn't made the early mistakes he had early in the season. He still would have easily been ahead in the standings. It's safe to say he learned from that year.
