Such a class act. There will never be another Chrissie Evert. She's an icon to the sport. Even if you didn't like her or her style of game-she influenced all these laddies that hit from two hands.. Her groundstrokes hit with a,wooden raquet are legendary.

Astonishing records. One of the most lethal games the sport ever saw with a wood racket. That girl got to the semifinals of her first major tournament in 1971, and got to the semis of her second, her third, her fourth, her fifth, her sixth...finally in 1983 she lost a match in the fourth round and then she started her second streak through most of 1987. All that without a sports pschologist, a personal physical trainer, a service coach, a nutritionist ....

She reminds me of princess Diana, I guess because of her hair. She is American royalty too.

during their careers there was tension based on many things, similarity of style, younger/older, and so on... after their careers ended, they became good friends with more in common than not...they have mutual respect as well...both have shown up since this 1994 induction of evert, at various events together and when one or the other is being rewarded/praised/honored....

Chris Evert is a bit snooty in person. She gave me an autograph, but then said who's pen is this? 😂 Like, duh. Steffi Graf was the worst though, total taker. She ran from fans. Gabriela Sabatini is a super sweetheart, even posing for pictures. Unfortunately, the one chance I got to meet Navratilova, she cancelled last minute due to injury, but she seems easy to talk to.

Sounds like your over it. Players are told not to make eye contact when signing autographs, as to not imply to autograph seekers that by signing and talking the seeker would think they are now “ friends” . It’s to protect those who might have a false sense of familiarity which can lead some to steal them. She wasn’t rude yet you typed out your comment saying she was snotty. Look at your reaction . It wasn’t personal yet you sure took it as one. Your a problem and why such rules set by the WTA were made the way they are. She pure class, humble, grateful to her parents, did you see the tears in her eyes after hugging her father? Because of their bond she aimed to please and develop in to a champion which gave her a lifestyle free from financial worry ever again. She learned the game during an era where there was no money.

She was very open with me at a legends 1995 cocktail party where for a price of a ticket that went to charity you got to mingle with all the great women players . Before I walked in I almost left so petrified , nervous in meeting all of them, afraid I’d gush, of looking foolish. Instead she walked up to me and asked me how my game was. I laughed and she broke the ice. I was careful not to take one second of time away from others who had attended the event by not hogging Chris’s time. I quickly told her she was my idle and appreciated her effort in staying in the game for so long vs Martina when she could’ve retired at 30. She said it was back third of her career when she wasn’t number one where Martina forced her to become a better player that she enjoyed the most. She was very humble , a class act. Martina and Tracy were beautiful acting people and they all had so much respect for each other.

@@lenwelch2195 Lol. Ok, buzz Killington. Man, It's just MY experience on a particular day, that I've told a million times and people have laughed. You weren't there. You could have just shared your experience, but you had to be overly opinionated, with false, cliched assumptions about some random stranger on the Internet. Your long-winded answers are about you, nothing more.

@@michaelwalker2492 random insults are your unnecessary way of life. I don’t live that way on a video celebrating the icon of Evert . Instead u over reacted by taking the opportunity to insult a great lady who deserves nothing but admiration and I won’t stand for it. You can’t stand for evert to get even a crumb of recognition on a video cummulating her career. In being inducted to the hall of fame. Insulting me is awfully defensive trying Tom pull back insulting her character in response to a video celebrating all her great points. Even Austin was there out of respect yet you couldn’t even mention one good thing about Evert. Good for Evert being snooty to you if you feel the need to pick on her about asking who’s pen she used so that the person who had the pen receive it back . Instead you use the opportunity to insult her. She deserved more than that from you. Yes of course I won’t stand for it . I support the people who recognize Vert deserved more . I have standards and I wasn’t going to be silent in response to your insulting comment in response to the bookend to a legends career. People didn’t fill the stands to watch wade beat king in first open USOpen . Admit your being snotty yourself in your pithy response designed to take away, chip away at this legend. If the worse thing is that she wanted the person who brought the pen to receive it back and u felt need to take a pot shot at it told everyone just hoe sensitive you are that Chris in your interpretation insulted you , then get help. I stand up to trollers who felt need to insult her on such a day she deserved nothing but praise. Your comment was obvious to all . If Chris had a history of being snotty I wouldn’t have gone to the trouble pointing you out. Doubling back doesn’t get you off the hook.

3:27 Bush: I love Chris Evert. Chris Evert: sad face, nodding her head. I wonder if there hasn't been any unofficial love drama between the two in the 70s or 80s
