Where are you seeing twin guitars? I see one playing a Les Paul and the other is a Stratocaster. They aren't the same brand, they are different body styles, and not even the same color.
what's in a name? for all I know these are the guys who I've been fascinated since "Reminiscing" and many, many others .. today I;ve heard "Someone's taken our story" it hurts to hear that, how did all this happen? I don't know, but what I know? is that I'm sticking with Birtles, Shorrock and Gobble style ...

Also, the current lineup touring the U.S. have done nothing for the legacy of LRB other than to ruin it's reputation. They sound terrible. Nothing like LRB at all. It's awful to see this happen to one of Australia's greatest band.
Goshie, with all the hub-bub about Graeham Goble, Beeb Birtles & Glenn Shorrock vs. Wayne Nelson & Stephen Housden, ya'll forgot to make mention of: George McArdle, Graham Davidge, Dave Orams, Ric Formosa, Roger McLachlan, Geoff Cox, Mal Logan, Barry Sullivan and Mr. David Briggs - LRB's most powerful & innovative lead guitarist and last BUT not least, one the greatest pop drummers of that era, Derek Pellicci...all of the above mentioned where part, at one time or another, of The Little River Band from it's inception, up until the time this song, "The Night Owls" was released in 1981. Hmmm, maybe they weren't mentioned because they weren't part of the dirty "class action-suit" that so unfortunately went down and dragged that great name of LRB into the muddy cesspool of legal crap, that kills great music AND the ability for great musicians to work amicably with one another, ever again. I LOVE WATCHING DEREK PELLICCI! He's the BEST damn drummer besides Steve Smith with Journey! They're both excellent drummers. I LOVE WATCHING Derek tho cause he's so cute and sexy when he plays!
Great version. The Forum is a stunning building....the last time I lived in Melbourne it was a Christian Revival centre, great to see it is a proper venue again. LRB sold the name to Stephen Housden......who was in the mark III lineup and contributed to the later hits...in other words...a legitimate member. BSG changed their minds later.....in the meantime Stephen and Wayne kept the band alive on the US tour circuit only to be "told" by the original members that they wanted the name back.......
I am fairly confident that name was not willingly sold. I read Beeb's and Glenn's biographies. It was an odd and unusual legal technicality is my understanding, where Stephen Housdon was the last man standing. How would he have had money to buy that of all people. Wayne maybe.

Because they lost the LRB name to one of their guitarists in a weird little series of mistakes. And he won't let them tour using that name. He instead licenses it to what is essentially a LRB cover band fronted by their old bassist who originally sang this song.

I DO!!!.... Saw them live in the late 70's when they came to New Orleans. They played at the Maple Street Bar on Oak St. They were the greatest. No replacing this bunch. Just not the same.
agree 100%, i was just answering a question. once Beeb, Graeham and Glenn left the little river band it should've really been named something else, even though i consider Wayne a legit member even though he wasn't a founding member!
@Coup de grace probably not much, I don't listen to anything they've done after 1984 or so. Goble and Shorrock wrote almost all their hits and when they left so did their popularity.

Why would the 3 get together and play LRB songs, but not play as LRB, but BSG instead?

Actually, this is one of the very few songs that Glen Shorrock (middle) didn't sing lead vocals on. Trust me, they sound great even today
