- Beachcombing in the Gulf of Mexico has become my new favorite pastime. No, seriously! We've jokingly called me Superfinder for years because of my uncanny ability to find lost items... but I had no idea how addicted I would become to the never-ending Easter Egg Hunt of searching for seashells and sea beans! I had never even heard of sea beans before, until I picked up those information sheets at the Padre Island Visitor Center. You find the sea beans up near the sand dunes instead of at the waters edge where the shells are! I hope you have as much fun finding these treasures as I did!

About Us:
Hi! We're Mike & Kerry, the proud owners of a 1992 Bluebird rear engine (pusher), 40' school bus! We named her Bussy McBusface in honor of the RRS Boaty McBoatface travesty!
We built a Tiny-Home-in-a-Bus for full-time living in the most adventure-friendly way possible. Bussy was never meant to be parked in a driveway, waiting for weekend trips or holiday getaways. After we finished the build, we packed everything we kept into the bus and drove away from our old house and into the world of off-grid living, aka boondocking, and endless travel adventures!
Since we planned to be boondocking the majority of the time, we made choices such as; a 100-gallon water tank, an Air Head composting toilet, a 1500w solar power system with 1000Ah in AGM batteries, etc. We'd love to have you stick around and follow us on our journey, from our Skoolie Build Series, to infinite buslife adventures beyond!

First time I watch one of your videos and I have to say… I love the happiness that shells make you feel. I live in Spring Texas like and hour from Galveston and I love going out there just to connect with all the shells and the breeze.

👍🏻😁❤️ something to add to your beach scavenging….. sea glass. Was always a big deal to find a nice piece, and lots of friends have bowls of sea glass they’ve collected. 👍🏻😁
Kerry loves finding sea glass and we did indeed find some sea glass while we were there.

I found my first sea bean (hamburger) on a NC outer banks beach last week. (Corova/Corolla). I was so happy!

Kerry, I’m sorry for laughing at your beach floor. And Mamacita’s tail sticking out on the steps was kinda funny. Suggestion, why don’t you take shoes off when you enter the bus?
We were going in and out of the bus much too often and most of the time we were wearing flip-flops and the sand weren't necessarily on the bottom of our shoes as much as up our legs and everywhere else it's just was unavoidable.

Where are you finding these seashells what beach? Because I can't find nothing in South Padre Island seashells

I will tell you there was a lot of searching going on but we never came up with those darn pieces.
You guys need a metal detector you'd find all kinds of money and jewelry and treasure and still collect seashells just a thought 💙
Mike actually does have a metal detector and tried it there on the beach. However, the sand at Padre Island is very hard and is not your typical fluffy sand that you would find at a public beach and therefore if you drop something it tends to bounce off the sand and stay on top of the surface. It's very hard to lose things there. Mike did try metal detecting several times and found a few cents and quite a few lead fishing weights but nothing of value.
Did ya'll do any stays at Port A ?
No we did not get that far north until we bypassed Port Aransas and went to indianola Beach which was quite pleasant.
@@BussyMcBusface lol Port Aransas is Port A ! There's a deep jetty on the beach with great fishing ! I was just curious. It's interesting place to be but stay may not be as long.
