hello nsacler454 it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks and i an enjoy video is cool thanks friends randy
Hey, I’m glad you posted again! 😃 Nice job on the lights.
Adding lights will be easy you thought, I'll be done in half an hour and I'll be able to work on [insert name of other project here] and get a couple things done today you thought. 2 hours later and you're still rebuilding the refinery. That's about my luck. I love modeling but sometimes it makes me feel like I need to take a valium or xanax to stay calm when things like this happen. LOL! A wosah with a deep breath kind of moment. Your final result looks really good. Great video. 👍
That would look great with one of those red aircraft warning lights on top. Great video.
It looks good with all the lights, nice job. Bob
Nice work….learned a new kit dis-assembly method 😂😂…lighting looks really good
Lighting looks awesome!! I'm building/kitbashing two of these kits for the layout to mimic the refinery I work at so this is a real cool video for me. Thanks. Ben.
nice video thx for the share.😊😊👍👍
Thanks!
This was great to watch - not only for the information (I've just gotten through a major lighting project) but for the high comedy of watching the models undergo rapid unscheduled disassembly, which is a universal feature of all of my post-hoc building mods too. Thanks for showing the warts along with the fantastic outcome.
we have to expect a few steps back once in awhile haha.
Cool video thanks for sharing
Glad to see you’re doing well. The lights look great brings things to life. Can’t wait to see it on the layout. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week. 😎😎👍
Looks great!
That looks awesome. Unfortunately I already built 2 of these. Now I have to see if I have better luck adding lights then you did. LOL
Might have been better to drill before assembly, lol, nice job, looks great
Definitely looked like one of my projects... Lol! Although yours turned out looking AWESOME! If you dare to go back in, maybe consider putting in some red intermittent aviation beacons at the top of your stacks for that extra added realism. That's my plan for my power plant
I like the idea! If I had some red LED's I might consider it. Not sure its worth it to buy a pack for a couple uses. I hope you do it though.
Awesome! I have chicken feed mill I printed and I think the lights would really add the finishing touch to it once I get it all figured out where everything goes. Thanks for posting.
After seeing the finished project, it looks amazing! Are there any doors on it? Just an idea. If possible put a blinking red light on the top of that very high stack. That might be cool.
I feel a review on glues coming up lol
That isn't a bad idea
Starting to look like Texas City, Texas. 😂😂
I added light to mine also. I used old style incandescent yellow grain of wheat to look more like metal halide lamps. I fabricated some staunches from styrene tubing so they resemble the actual fixtures of this type. I mounted to the platforms hand rails to illuminate the ladders. It does give things a bit more of realism. Of course, mine was pre woodland scenic LED lighting days. I had some parts come unglued on my model also. I think that was due to me painting before assemble. The glue didn't adhere as well.
A nice touch also is to mount a orange windsock on a pole from the top railing on the upper most platform. A real world idea I modeled from the local refinery.
With all due respect. I started watching your refinery repair video. Saw the repairs needed, thought oh that isn't bad. These things happen. Then you started drilling holes. I'm sorry but when things started breaking apart.......I couldn't stop chuckling. Styrene needs one of two things. Either a very sharp dill slowly applied or melt a hole. Keep going, these are only suggestions. 👍
Now you have a repair job! The instructions are useless, so use photos from your original video. Thx for that video, that is how I completed my install of platforms & ladders.
The instructions really leave a lot to figure out on your own
"Promo SM" 😒
