- Come along with me as I do a sort of half review and recipe video of this awesome new Pizza Oven from @Ooni, the Volt 12! Living in Michigan, we tend to spend a lot of time indoors in the winters and this pizza oven is designed and intended to me a fully electric and fully indoor use pizza oven!
The recipe is going to be pretty straight ahead so see below for the total list of ingredients needed!
1 Can Tomatoes (Whole & Skinned and ideally no other added ingredients like citric acid)
Wisconsin Brick Cheese
Pepperoni (sliced)
Pizza Dough (for today's episode using pre made pizza dough)

Fair Warning! This is not an inexpensive, piece of kitchen hardware! Remember you are buying an appliance for your kitchen. I think if you are eating a lot of pizza, entertain a lot with guests and or just love cooking and experimenting with new ways to expand on your pizza making skills, then I saw do it!

You are so chill. Such a genuine creator
Oh thank you! 🙏🏽
I appreciate your honesty at the end on the recommendation being price gated, I'm not surprised you did, but glad to see you keep on being genuinely you.
I’ll always be honest whether or not something I like is a need or I want. Most of the stuff I deal with our “gadgets” so to every extent they are some kind of luxury.
Oooh pizza party!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Who doesn’t love a pizza party (that isn’t given at your place of work in lieu of adequate compensation for labor)?
@@jonkung exaxtly! Count me in!
ooohni?
I have a regular electric oven and if u throw in a steel plate it makes a great pizza oven.
I love my Volt! It took a few months to learn its idiosyncrasies, after using outdoor ovens for 2 decades. But I love being able to make pies indoors with no fire or gas hassle. Worth the $1000! Plus the glass on my first Volt completely shattered one night 3 months into ownership, but Ooni promptly had a replacement to me within 1 week-excellent customer service!
Oh that’s awesome that the fixed that. Was it just the temperature difference that shattered the cover?
I have no idea why the glass shattered-sometimes glass at high temps can shatter if a room temp liquid/sauce hits it-but nothing came near the glass that night…? Ooni asked me what we had cleaned the glass with, and I told them only water and a nylon scrubbing pad. Total mystery…?@@jonkung
Ooni has a smaller basic gas version for outdoors around $400, but this is so over the top (hold on, opening another credit card for unrelated reasons..) but looks amazing! I'm that typical ny person who knows our pizza is the best so I make pizza anytime friends get together😅 I love this video and review.. 90 secs tho? I'll trust you.. only cus the pups said they vouch for you💜
I have a similar one, made in Italy, it reaches 450C too. That's the key. Real pizza ovens go even higher than that. The goal is to cook the pizza without boiling the ingredients on top so 90 seconds are perfect!
Very well presented... thanks
Yay ..I love it the egg I can't wait to try 😍😁🙏💜💫🪶
"one can of peeled tomatoes"
(brings out the biggest can of tomatoes ive ever seen)
I don’t f*** around ☺️
I have an ooni fora. I converted it to propane. I used ooni’s gas burner. It works very well. I am looking into buying oven heating elements and doing an electric.
You did a spinning thing 😂❤👏🏼👏🏼p.s I love your babys waiting to see if you drop anything 🐶🐶🍕
90 seconds to cook a pizza? 😮 Looks and sounds delicious. How many watts does it need to operate? Max on a normal kitchen circuit is 1800 watts, at least for me.
This runs on a regular plug. I think it has more to do with the shape and efficiency of the heating element that gets this thing to 850°F.
Great video Jon, will look into one or similar product for sure!
As far as I know, Ooni and Breville make the two best electric pizza oven.
America’s test kitchen just did a comparison video between the Ooni and Breville pizza ovens; I’d suggest checking that one out to get a feel for what you like.
Supinos is so so so good. I hope the one in Eastern Market gets fixed soon!!
I hope so too!
I see Pepperoni rolls in your future! Or maybe Stromboli 🤔 Can't go wrong either way. Got the sauce, got the cheese!
That oven is 1,200.00 at Amazon in Canada
Ummm... we need an oven flarbread series now 🥰
Oh yes!
For a neapolitan sauce, tomato salt and olive oil is all you really need
can this do a Peter Lugar style steak - salamander steak cooking?
Yes, absolutely
I am remaining SILENT! Mr Knuckles lol
Lovely results, and off to see where I can find Wisconsin Brick cheese!
If there are any specialty cheese shops by you, I’m sure they can order some
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ dogs ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ you are so good at TALKING❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ love your action ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!

Chef Jon, you probably know this. How do you make canned tomatoes not taste tinny? Or is it my sh*t tomatoes? Thanks in advance.
If you were going to season it heavily, it doesn’t make that much of a difference but you need to get really good quality can tomatoes. That is the most important thing and tomatoes that are stored in tomato purée seem to be the most favored ones.
@@jonkung Thank you Chef! I will look for tomatoes in puree and make sure I get the good stuff!
I'm high now, tomato Kung was very needed.
Tomato Kung is my favorite kind
Do you think that this would be suitable for a small restaurant? I was thinking of doing $5 Napoleon style pizzas as a special.
I know for a fact that they would not recommend this be used for restaurant use.
@@jonkung why is that?
Commercial equipment has design considerations that make them more robust and easier to clean. I don’t feel like this would last long under those conditions.
@@jonkung so really just a question of the life of the equipment under constant use. Which I understand but I would only really do a pizza special for no longer 5 hours a day, during dinner or lunch hours.
Yeah I guess is you’re willing to risk voiding the warranty that’s totally up to you. There are safety issues as well I’m sure ,so I can’t recommend it.
But I also can’t really stop you either.

90 seconds??? Dude my thin crust pizzas cook for 5 mins about there. Whats ur temp?
it was kinda undercooked on the edges tbh
It goes up to 850°F
You're the most gorgeous man that I've ever seen.
Isn't that that thing to small
It makes a good personal size pizza or a decent two person pizza.
Learn to make pizza lol wtf is that
