I think its time grand strategy games stop using Mercator and start using globes. when you are making the game in 3D its totally worth it to take a bit more of development time to project the map into a globe. also I have a weakness to overlycomplex games with an absurd amount of content, so I'm loving this.
The problem with that is if you take over the world and zoom all the way out, you still won't be able to see your whole name stretching across the globe until you rotate the view :/

i think this game is great seem they have allowed the player to play as almost every country in the world.. not many games allow you to do that. i also think the devs adding mod support this early is great to see that tells me that the dev knew the player base would ask for mod support later on if it was not added this early. can't wait to see what players create with the mod tools.

They abandoned the first title to work on the second one. The idea behind this franchise is good and the first title is ok. Not great though. It's also very expansive for what it is. I will not purchase this title for exactly these reasons. I feel like the dev will only take my money then work on another title. Hopefully, this might help some people making their decision on whether or not they want to purchase this title.

Hello all, anyone know why suddenly my population drop drastically? I was playing china with gdp of 20,000 and population of 14,000 suddenly it drops to 10,000 then 5,000. Many buildings are gone, AP gone negative etc. Thanks - much help needed
I played on switch a couple times and it was pretty fun, it was on sale for like $2 tho, so I don’t know how much it is now. If you can deal with playing using controllers it’s still pretty fun
Hate to be 'that guy' but you don't need the Alien Crossfire expansion to build floating colonies. It happens in the base game. What you might be thinking of is the Nautilus Pirates faction that builds all its bases in the water. Sorry mate. That comment gave me an itch that wouldnt go away lol

When this comes out you have to play as sealand. Like smallest country that established late and was not part of ww2 I haven’t seen a big 4K play as them and it would be interesting #sealandmatterstoo

I'd have to counter that no recommendation as I honestly found CK3 and Hoi4 way slower, I've played 350 hrs or so of Realpolitiks 1 and still enjoy it, everyone just has their own personal preference to game style and I think Realpolitiks is quite unique compared to most grand strategy games.

So i cam back to this video after having bought the game myself. THIS GAME IS NOT FINISHED. Its really poorly optimized, Even on an SSD it still loads fairly slowly. Has many bugs, especially during war that dont allow you to play. After watching Quil18 I was really interested in playing the game. Because if you look at my channel you can see im a pretty big fan of strategy.
Yeah, of course it's not finished, it would have said before adding to cart that it's early access. In the meantime you can grab the 1st one if you haven't yet and understanding that will help tremendously if you intend to wait until the 2nd one is out of early access in a couple months or so.
Not even in the slightest, even from Realpolitiks 1 it's very unique where as most are mainly war esq with other win conditions like a civilization style game (though politically very light), your very politically heavy games with light war like Hoi4 or CK3 or else something with more flexibility in politics and war but both very light such as Power and Rev / Geopolitical series. Realpolitiks is a very nice medium balance of everything with lots of flexibility in every category and enough random events to keep it fresh for lots of replayability and different viewpoints playing different countries etc. IMO it's just a nice different style of grand strategy that stands out as not your usual kind. I've played nearly 350 hrs of the 1st Realpolitiks, I tried Hoi4 and CK3 and (at least for my taste) found them way slower particularly at the start to really feel like I got anywhere so got bored rather quick. I have played lots of the Geopolitical series and Civ 6 I've put around 330 hrs into and quite enjoy. Anyways that's my perspective on it and look forward to putting another 300 plus hrs into Realpolitiks 2 as well, it's alot more added and fleshed out compared to the 1st and so much more I want to do with the 2nd. 👍

@@anti-russbot5127 No prob, you can always pick up the RP1 for now, get a good grip on the elements and get RP2 once the early access is over. Lots to get used to and will prob keep you interested in playing for a couple months and will make learning the new elements in RP2 not feel overwhelming.
Do not get me wrong, early access can be a wonderful tool for small devs, but clearly the industry is not using it neither properly nor respectfully for the community.

"realpolitik" is a German term with a specific meaning (that is not simply "real politics"). It's pronounced /reɪˈɑːlpɒlɪˌtiːk/, real as in "Real Barcelona". Politik is closer to a French-ish "politique". I love you, but please get this right.

Think of it this way - you play chess and you have a certain opening in mind. But if you stick to it even if the opponent counters your planned move, you are having a problem. Realpolitik means that you are constantly shifting in a new environment. You have an end goal, but you do not have a set plan from start to finish, you make moves as they become available. Another example is, you invest in, let us say, oil industry and plan for it the next 50 years. But after 10 years the industry collapses, you can shift your focus, or you can stick to it because it is your original plan and other things depends on it.
