    Pretty please do a video about quarentine with your pet 🙄 Did you have to find a specific place that allowed pets? Thank you so much for the info!!

      Hello! Quarantine with our cat was pretty easy. We had some supplies waiting ir us at our apparent from a friend that lived there. If I hadn’t had a friend, I would have asked my boss to buy us a litter box and some cat food. Because I moved to Korea for a job, my boss had to find us an apartment. She said it wasn’t too difficult to find a place that accepted animals, but I didn’t have to do that. Thanks for the questions!

    This is SUPER HELPFUL! A total relief, however, I do have two questions. Was there a weight limit?! Does he have to stand straight up in his carrier? My cat weighs 14 lbs and I bought him the peanut carrier which has three windows BUT it opens to a fourth window

    • @wanderlooop
      @wanderlooop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! Wow! Thank you so much, very glad to help. There was not a weight limit for delta but there is a weight limit for Korean Air. I think it is around 12lbs. That is part of the reason we chose Delta. The cat does not have to stand up straight like a dog, no. You definitely will need the fourth window. We used a soft carrier and they usually don’t measure those, and with those, you have more wiggle room because they are bendable. If you have more questions, let me know!!

      @@wanderlooop for the health certificate, how long did it take for you to get back?! How many days prior to your departure did you set up the appointment for the health certificate?! I’m stressing about not getting it back in time!!

      I would be very clear to your vet about the dates and have him help you out. The first time it took about 1 week without expediting it and the second time with expediting it, it was about 3 days. We got it about 5 days prior to our takeoff.

    I saw on one of your links, that the Health Inspection “passport” must be issued by a vet and endorsed at a USDA office. Does that mean I need to go to the vet 10 days before arriving in Korea and then going to a USDA office? Or can I go to the vet in advance (greater that 10 days before arrival in Korea) and go to a USDA later (within the 10 days of arrival in Korea)?

    • @wanderlooop
      @wanderlooop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Yes, you are exactly right! The USDA endorsement is what matters. As long as that is within 10 days, you are fine! Thanks for watching :)

    Question for the Health Inspection Certificate; where did you come up with 10 days within your travel to South Korea? The APHIS USDA website doesn't address anything on 10 days requirement. Their website where you download the form says " This certificate is valid for 30 days after issuance". The Treaty between the USA and South Korea is 30 days valid after issuance. Please kindly advise where the 10 days came from to obtain your health inspection certificate

Was planning to get us to Seattle first for the international leg of the trip but flight options are slim at the moment so I was hoping there was another airport I could fly out of, but I'm assuming the international leg of your itinerary didn't leave directly from Ohio?

    • @wanderlooop
      @wanderlooop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha that’s awesome! Nope, our International flight to Korea was from Michigan! That’s why we had to get the extra paperwork for state-to-state travel.

      @@wanderlooop Good to know, thank you! And after you guys got the Pet Passport, you could leave any time afterward as long as you were within 10 days, right? So in theory you could've left the US like, the day after getting the paperwork? Or is there a time frame you have to wait before you can leave even if you have the document?

    How do you guys dispose of the litter in Korea during quarantine and after?

    • @wanderlooop
      @wanderlooop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! We brought the litter bags with us so during quarantine, we would put the litter in the bags and then put it in a box under our sink. When we got out of quarantine, we just took them down to the trash at our apartment! It wasn’t that bad, we only had a few bags.

    • @graciemiller9279
      @graciemiller9279 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I see! I’m moving with my cat in August and just know Korea is picky about trash sorting and didn’t know how people were doing it!

    • @wanderlooop
      @wanderlooop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We live in Cheonan so everywhere is different but we typically don’t have problems with trash sorting. Just make sure your trash is in the actual trash bags, food waste is separate, and masks and stuff like that is in the toxic bags. Good luck on your move though, it’s definitely crazy. Let me know if you have any questions!

      Hello! Korea has tons of affordable vets and some even speak English, so I assume your cat would be just fine. My friend has a sick cat and they are accommodating to her. I am not really sure though. Does your cat have to eat specific food?

    • @brianaandkyle
      @brianaandkyle 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wanderlooop Thanks for replying! That's good to know. So the main thing he needs is insulin and needles. I think we will be able to handle the diet aspect with food there or we will make him food again if needed

    Hello! I was wondering if you guys were able or if you did bring your cat's food into Korea?
    I'm going to Korea with my kitten in May, and I want to bring his current wet food with us, but I don't want it to be taken away at customs. I'm worried that I won't be able to bring his food with us, so then when I get him on a new diet his stomach will get upset and he'll get sick :(

    • @wanderlooop
      @wanderlooop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can bring in certain types of dry food with it’s original packaging. I don’t think you will be able to bring in wet cat food though, unfortunately. They are really strict on animal products being brought in because of diseases. They will confiscate it. You could have it shipped to you, though! Good luck :)

    • @buffcheeses
      @buffcheeses 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wanderlooop Do you know if it matters whether the dry food bag is opened or unopened? Thank you so much for the fast reply!

    • @wanderlooop
      @wanderlooop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not sure if that changes anything. When I entered America with food, they were a little more relaxed. I had about a cups worth of dry food and it had its original packaging so they said it’s okay. But from what I’ve heard, Korea is a lot more strict. Personally, I won’t bring enough for a few days once you arrive but I wouldn’t bring much more, just in case they take it.
