Love your ipad videos especially because they’re from a professional comic book artist perspective who works solely from the ipad. More videos like this, detailing the experience of working purely from the ipad professionally for art and all the apps you use will be nice! Lastly so sorry about what youre going through health wise, i hope you get well soon, that was a gut punching twist to your story. Will be sticking with you through your journey. New sub.
I'm not going to update, but DANG do I wanna test out drawing on the nano-texture! Gotta go the the store when I get the chance. THNX for the review! It's always so valuable it to hear an artists oppinion on these devices. Hope everything goes well! All the best!!!
I'm sorry to hear about the medical emergency! Wishing you the best. As for me, I'm still saving up from work and it may take me a while to upgrade to a newer iPad Pro. Your artwork is amazing as always.
Thank you for the detailed review! It was very helpful from an artist's perspective. I personally wanted to get the Nano Texture as I tried it a couple of times at the Apple Store, but it was too expensive to get that texture just for the extra storage, which I don't need much. I work indoors with my iPad most of the time, so I thought I'd be okay with a reflective surface. It has better color contrast anyway. The reason why I loved the Nano Texture is because it doesn't interrupt my drawing with the side of my hand and allows the Apple Pencil to glide very well. So Instead, I got a tempered glass screen protector. It has a nice silky touch that I prefer. I noticed I like this more than the paper-like texture screen protector since I used to use a Cintiq as my main drawing tool.
You are the best I must say…..glad you pointed out some few points to go home with. I have the M1 chip also and I’m not ready to upgrade except Apple surprisingly give mind blowing updates on the os part and open it more to pro level apps on the iPad,….then I might consider. Love your comics and your work ethics…..I prayed all will be well health wise ,….hope it isn’t you please?
that nanotexture is a godsend!! especially since i have ruined my apple pencil nibs with paperlike and i hate the glassiness of the ipad so this works for me!
I watched your original unboxing and first impression video and I really did expect to hear that you were going to keep your M4 13 inch but I totally understand medical emergencies take parody. I hope everything is well with you. Keep up the amazing work and I can’t wait to see your next videos And I also can’t wait to see when you actually do pick up the M4 13 inch iPad Pro in the future my M4 13 inch iPad Pro showed up the day after launch
Hey. I am thinking about new M4 Pro with Pencil pro. I would be very thankful for suggestions about SSD size - should I buy 512 or 256 will be enough for procreate and concept-art? I want to use it for a long time without change for new one. Thanks for suggestions!
I currently have a iPad Air 5 gen and getting this iPad for my birthday im a college student who uses Microsoft stuff and Google stuff will all that be ok on my iPad ? Don’t want a computer btw
Thanks for the informative review! I have a 13” nano texture iPad Pro coming in a couple of weeks and can’t wait to draw on it! Hope everything goes well regarding your medical emergency. 🙏
I would like to know from the users of the M4 Ipad pro is their excess heating issue and battery drain issue while using the Apple p pencil? Plese i want an answer to make the decision.
Your mention of Procreate not having updated their software yet to take advantage of the new pencil features only available to the iPad Pro, and Zbrush's anounced iPad entry also not yet available on the iPad Pro to signals an iPad Pro centric announcement at this years 2024 WWDC
I loved the video and i agree with most of it but i don't know if getting a used ipad pro is a good move . Ipad updated last for around 6 years on average that mean you get 4 year of shelf life if you buy the 2022 one used . battery will need to get replaced or already got replaced most of the time with one that it's not original . If you can't justify to get the Ipad pro cuz it's too expensive . I would get the Ipad Air 13 that give you the same performance of the old ipad pro , it's new so 6 years of updates at least , big screen cuz you can get the 13 inch version and you can use the last apple pencil pro that support rotation. If you get the ipad pro 2022 refurbished you will end to spend the same if not more than the ipad air 13 so i would get this last one . I think the features that make it game changer is the pen , the rotation and all the new functionality make it really professional friendly also all the apps will add shortcuts and stuff just for the new Pro Pen . - i live in europe tho the price of these things never really drop... in USA is much differnt. The only drawback of the new Ipad air probably is the 60hz screen and it's a IPS not amoled but well to be honest even side by side the difference is minimal . Of course if you got the money get the greatest you can afford . I think it's the only product from apple that it's worth every penny cuz they have 0 competition.
After my GCSEs I’m looking to buy an iPad Pro, and I’m not sure between getting the 13 inch or 11 inch, if I were to get the 11 inch I was wondering if it is worth also getting a monitor so I could use an external keyboard and mouse with the monitor and iPad while at home at my desk, but then I could just use the iPad when I’m at school for example. What do you think? Is there any point also getting a monitor, and should I go 11 inch or 13 inch?
It depends on what you're going to do with it. If you're an artist, I always recommend the bigger size, but portability is a personal decision. I don't use this much in a desk setup, so I can't speak to it, but I do recommend waiting til WWDC 2024 next week to see if Apple announces any iPadOS updates that would sway you either way.
@@Comicbooker ok, in terms of size, I’ll be using it for notes and school work; as well as TH-cam and music and stuff like that, so what size should I get?
procreate is locked at 140-144 layers cant remember exactly.. but it doesnt matter is you have a 8gb ram or 16gb of ram its the same but if you got less then 8gb of ram thats where you lose layers in procreate
The definition is so high my inking now looks super thin. I'm concerned the pencil pro's battery life is worse than previous ones. It's also shorter than the 2nd gen 12.9 inch I had and so I gotta adjust my dang chair. The pencil pro's features don't work with Comic Draw app. Yet. You also couldn't get the different glass without splashing out on the storage upgrades though.
So - how many layers do you have with 16Gb???😂 16Gb doesn’t worth to pay double price. I tested both and I know it😊 Be honest, you bought maxed model because you can, not because you really need it😊
68 layers on a regular 600dpi comics page. And RAM usage differs per person/workflow. If it's not worth it for you, I respect that. But from my POV, with the work that I do, it's worth it.
@@Comicbooker I have 46 layers on your settings on my M2 256) so you were right, you have much layers😊 I work with nomad and for me more RAM not needed 😊 But…..all things can change on June 10, will see. Btw - thanks for you content, you are a great artist and very positive man😊 And sorry for my bad English, it’s not my native😊
i love apple and my ipad pro. but knowing how brutal apple is with their product tree and trying to get the absolute largest margins out of people by forcing them to buy the most expensive hardware - I wouldn't be surprised if procreate's layer/ram issue isn't the result of a conspiracy between the makers of procreate and apple. It is absolute robbery to force people who want to get enough layers to make art to pay $2000 to get the 16 gigs of ram they need. And something tells me it isn't chance. Having said that - even at 13 inches the ipad pro is still better than a $3000 cintiq.
What a twist at the end. Sorry to hear that. Your art is amazing and looks flawless on that screen.

FINALLY an actual user review, not some tech TH-camr.
Conclusion first, you dropped this king 👑
Oh no! 😿 What a twist to your story. I hope everything went well.
It'll be okay! These things happen. 😅
Thank you for making this! Your art just keeps getting better and better!

I would like to see you review the new iPad air 6 M2
I went up to 1TB for the 16GB of ram, but are you actually filling 2TB of storage? Seems like crazy overkill for an iPad.
Are you gonna make a video of you getting into NYCC and your experience attending as an artist?
I am! Editing it right now, and hoping I can finish it this weekend! :)

it is, I bought it and it drains faster
❤ Fantastic
Do you color in cymk or sRGB
I use the "Generic CMYK" color profile baked into Procreate usually! 😁
Why is Wi-Fi good for your use? On the go, do you use public wifi or hotspot from your phone or a data device? -- Best to you. Health is priority.
It drains power much slower because battery is new 😅
