Great content and explanation, thanks a lot. Its really a great improvement on the Rhino toolsets for architects. Could you please show us how you made/from where you can obtain the hatches you used! Thanks in advance!
thanks, what about hatch scale - usually a detail at 1:5 will need a different line density to a section at 1:50 ? is it possible to achieve two different hatch densities on the same wall section in different viewports ?
Hi Great tutorial and a lot of potential here. Im having a lot of trouble figuring out how to keep the dynamic update on the drawing work. I tried to create a drawing set from a 3D model with multiple sections and drawings. When I first play with the section, the drawing automatically and dynamically updates, later this stops working, and when I move the section the drawing does not update anymore. Also later when I delete the section the drawing does not delete, as if they are detached. Not sure if there is a toggle for this or this is a bug. I updated my rhino 8 to latest. working on mac.
To make 3D details the simplest way is to either to loft/ extrude the basic shapes and array objects such as bricks to make copies (grasshopper can help to). I am also sure that there is some AI development for generating 3D from 2D details. This would be very exciting to use in the future.
when you select "create drawings" from under drafting and sections in the menu, the line work are all placed into layers so you can change colours etc. there. You can also export these to illustrator and then do your artwork using the same layers.
By default Rhino doesnt have many hatch patterns. If you google "hatch patterns .pat files" you can import them into rhino using the method as shown at 7:40 in the video. The .pat file format is easy to import and there are loads of collections out there.
i think that there is a bug. i cant have two dynamic sections, just one. for example i will place a few sections and i will try to create drawings and only the first that i created is able to create drawing. i chcecked and delete the first one so the second one works. i can create more section drawings only with create nested clipping drawings command. also i couldnt update nested drawings with update command. rino 8 is very buggy i home they will fix it.
Might be that the new sections are not active in the viewport. When creating a new section, select it and make sure in the properties panel they are activated in the view port you are using.
what a lovely addition to the already powerful tool - upwards and onwards
Fantastic video. Subbing ! Thanks for the comprehensive video and very perfect pace of explanation.

Most welcome!
this is amazing please elaborate more, can you show us how to make a 3d detail from a 2d ?

@@Urban_Decoders perfect this sounds amazing please do more videos on it.
hi, can Rhino dynamically update a drawing on a layout sheet, as the model is updated, like revit and even sketchup does !
This doesn't seem to work well. It does for a while and then it disables. Frustrating.
Can we do this with perspective sections?
yes you could just make different layers for the section and the perspective backgrounds
is there a way to make the dynamic section a 2d drawing? like you can make it into linework??

Where did you get the additional hatch patterns such as concrete etc? I dont see these as default in my rhino
