Still disappointing that NBA TV canceled The Starters. Loved watching that show because they gave you all the most important info around the league daily. It really made it easy to stay up to date with things. Glad Leigh is truly living up to his persona as the international man of mystery!
my only gripe is they were hardly ever critical. they always wanted to stay on good terms with the players, coaches etc. which made the show feel fake in a way. but it was fun for what it was

Been seeing his Tik-Toks a lot recently. I would 100% watch a Netflix series about playing pickup around the world and learning about global basketball culture. Basketball and futbol are the true global sports and they bring people together.
NoDunks is like the Starters on a really small scale. The show feels the same but they don't have interviews with players/coaches/media anymore (not regularly at least), and it's not as wacky.... they don't do that thing where the person who had the most losses for pick n play has to do something embarassing for the whole show. I think one of them was Leigh had to run on a treadmill the whole show... or it could've been Skeets. I think I recall Leigh having to wear a costume of some sort. So glad we got a "confidence, baby, confidence" nod in here! Ever since I've heard about what Leigh's doing, I've kept my eyes open for hoops everywhere I travel. It's so cool!
Teaming up with players and visiting their hometowns and learning about the culture through basketball could be really cool basketball version of anthony bourdains show. Maybe Leigh should reach out to the crew who made his show too.

Great New Year's surprise... I miss the Starters.
