Do you think the hotel will let you park the car while you go to Disneyland if your room isn’t ready yet or do you think you would have to park at disneyland parking
If there is space they will let you park before check-in. If arriving before 11 am, check-out time, it is more likely they will not have room. If arriving after 11 am, they should have room for the new guests arriving that day. We have come across this situation at other hotels and it is always best to call the hotel direct about 30 minutes before your arrival to make sure there is room.
Yes, they will tag it and hold onto the luggage for you. That was our plan when we showed up to the hotel mid-morning, we were going to have them hold our luggage. As it turned out our room was ready.
I'm staying there in April! I was booked to stay last October, but the reopening ended up getting pushed back, but we got a discount off of this re-booked stay because of that, they were super friendly and I'm excited to go back! It's my mom's favorite Good Neighbor Hotel, so when I go with her that's where we usually try to stay if we aren't staying at a hotel on property.
So many people had to change their plans with the ongoing renovations. The new rooms were worth the wait. They are lovely and they did a great job. Enjoy your stay in April!!☺️

Thank you for the review! It's really helpful. We were settled on The Anaheim Hotel, but then found out about Candy Cane Inn. Have you stayed at Anaheim Hotel? Anything that should sway us from one or the other? Anaheim Hotel has two kings, which is tempting for four adults, but the complimentary breakfast is really tempting.
We have stayed at the Anaheim Hotel, our stay wasn't the best. However, take in mind we stayed during the period when Disneyland was closed. The Anaheim area did not have the normal Disneyland groups going which did affect our stay. Our room was in a bit of disrepair with exposed tack board between the carpet and the tile. The bathroom wasn't the best. We stayed in building 5 and the rooms had very thin walls. We could hear people on either side of us. That being said we have known many people to stay at the Anaheim Hotel and like it. Just note the rooms aren't as new as the Candy Cane. For a group of four adults, I would probably get the bigger room at Candy Cane, just to have a bit more room to spread out. The room in our video will work but might be a little tight. Having an included breakfast can save you about $12-14 per day, per person. Having the shuttle is a nice perk too!
Hi, looking for some advice. Family of four, first time to Disneyland in august, trying to decide between this place and best western plus Anaheim inn. What would you choose?
Hi! We would pick Candy Cane. Reasons are because 1. They just finished a multi year renovation and the rooms were completely remodeled. They did a great job and we had a wonderful stay and slept really well. 2. They offer an included breakfast (just added waffle makers too), free parking and a free shuttle to and from the parks if you are too tired to walk 3. Amazing customer service. Of course, pricing and our budget would come into play for our decision as well. But if Candy Cane was in budget, we would stay there. Have so much fun in August and please reach out if you have any other questions. ☺️
@@AnaheimParkTourist thank you so much for replying. I think I’ve gone through all your videos and what’s hard as a first timer is deciding what the priorities are - cost vs closeness to the gates vs new or old or more upmarket. I think the kids would really love the Cambria - but that’s a 20-25 minute walk. JW Marriot was number one in one of your videos and it looks great. But is it worth the 17-minute walk vs simpler places like Candy Cane with a 11-minute walk. Or best western with a 6-minute walk. Or another one of your recommendations - Wyndham Anaheim. We’re driving down from Canada. Cruise before Disneyland and then Grand Canyon after. Kids are 6 and 11 and we’re planning to do the afternoon break at the hotel pool idea. But a huge waterpark would be too much energy and stimulation I would think. Any advice is sincerely appreciated.
@@Rollingstone2009 Totally understand that feeling! I (Crystal) am usually the planner for our trips, and it’s nerve wracking picking a place to stay! Since you have a 6 year old, and they have little legs, I would personally pick a hotel right on Harbor, across from the harbor entrance. Not sure if you will have a stroller, but when our kids were young, we preferred to stay walking distance so we didn’t have to take the sleepy kids out of the stroller to get on a shuttle. They could just stay asleep and we would push them back to our room. Or when they got a bit older and walked, but were running out of steam on the walk back to the hotel, it wasn’t that far to go after a long day in the parks. Best western Anaheim inn is a great place, we liked our stay there. They have an included breakfast. But they do have a parking fee. Candy cane as I said above is fantastic and not a bad walk either. It’s on the same side of the street as Disneyland. Park Vue Inn is another place I would look into. It’s right at the crosswalk. So close!! And no parking fee, but also no breakfast. When we stayed we bought breakfast sandwiches and warmed them in the microwave. Grand legacy is another place that isn’t too far and has lots of different room types. They do have a parking fee and no breakfast. But they run a lot of specials all the time, so I would sign up for their email list. All of the above have pretty standard motel style pools, although Grand legacy has a really nice pool area with a tiny splash pad and a beach entry into the pool. And last time we used it, it was heated and very enjoyable. Wyndham is a bit further of a walk, the rooms are nicely updated and it’s a hotel, not a motel. They have free parking and no breakfast. And their pool area was pretty small, but nicely kept. Howard Johnson is always a family favorite. They have a neat kids splash pad that your 6 year old would love, but your 11 year old would probably be a bit big for. But they do have another lovely pool as well. Hojo is a hotel as well and they charge for parking, and no free breakfast. We also loved Camelot Inn. The rooms were great sized and nicely updated. The pool is tiny, but I think it was on the 3rd floor and had a neat view of Disneyland. They do not offer breakfast and charge for parking and it’s valet parking only. The walk is easy and quick too. We also enjoyed our stay at the Desert Palms. We just released that video today. They charge for parking and they have an included hot breakfast. The walk is just a tiny bit longer than Candy Cane. The pool area was pretty small. Alpine Inn was a nice stay as well. They have a small resort fee. No parking fee and no included breakfast. They are almost next to Desert Palms. The pool area is a standard motel style pool. Not huge and in the parking lot. Lastly, would be the Hilton Garden inn and Home2Suites on south Manchester. They share the same pool and lobby. The pool area was large and they have a splash pad. Hilton garden inn does NOT include breakfast. And Home2Suites does include breakfast. Home2Suites also have a kitchenette. Both charge for parking and it is valet only. We should have videos for all of these hotels for the room tour and the walks (no walk yet for Desert Palms I believe). That should give you a good list to start off with and then see what pricing works best for your budget. Hope that helps!! ☺️
I’m bothering you again! After your Dessert Palms video, I think our shortlist is Candy Cane, Desert Palms and Best Western Anaheim inn. Please choose for me?!
Hi. I just asked on the chat feature on the Candy Canes website. This is what they said about how late the shuttle runs: The shuttle service operates until park closing time. Do you happen to have recommendations for a hotel for big families? I haven’t been to Disneyland since 2009, and now I have 4 kids and have no idea which hotels would be our best options.
Sure! Couple questions to start off. Do you want to be walking distance? Do you have a certain budget? So much has changed since 09! You guys will have a blast ☺️
@@AnaheimParkTourist I think we’d definitely prefer walking distance, but I’m not opposed to driving if we need to. I just know parking prices at Disney are crazy. I don’t have a set budget yet, I’m just starting the process of planning, but the cheaper the better haha!
We do the same usually! Whatever is closest and cheapest. ☺️ so there are quite a few options that are walking distance. The Camelot Inn has a giant suite that has 3 beds plus a sleeper sofa. I have not stayed in that room since they remodeled. But I have stayed in it a long time ago with all of my friends and it was great! We love the walking distance to the parks and how close it is to other food options like McDonald’s, Panera and Mimi’s Cafe. And we love the updates they did to their rooms! We have a video of the 2 queen room at Camelot. And FYI, when we stayed it was valet only. Not sure if that’s still the case. Another place to check out is the Alpine Inn. We stayed in a suite there and have a video on our channel. We really liked it. Easy walk and close to convenience stores and the CVS and Walgreens. The suite was a really affordable rate and the hotel was quiet. Parking can be a bit tight there if you have a car. Another we really liked was the Desert Palms. They are almost next door to the Alpine Inn. They have a lot of larger room types. Some even have kitchenettes. Plus they provide a hot breakfast in the morning. We really enjoyed our stay there and we have a video for this hotel as well. We also really enjoyed our stay at the new Hilton Garden inn and the Home2Suites. We have videos on both of these hotels. The rooms were large and the walk isn’t bad at all. Home2Suites also includes a hot breakfast. Both of these hotels are valet only. Grand legacy also has suite rooms available. We had a great stay here and the walk is super quick. They also run specials quite a bit, so you may want to join their email list. We consider all of the hotels above walking distance. We also really liked the Cambria hotel. Which is really far to walk. But we would walk over to the Toy Story lot and use the free shuttle. Here is a walk video: Camrbia and Suites Anaheim | Walk to Toy Story Lot Katella Pedestrian Entrance th-cam.com/video/2NbAzUOR0UA/w-d-xo.html We loved the room size here and it includes hot breakfast. It’s close to a lot of food options too! And they have a fantastic pool area. The only thing was they charge a resort fee and a parking fee. And those got expensive pretty fast! We have a video on the Cambria room as well. Hope that helps give you a starting place to check into these properties and see if any of them will work for your family! Have fun planning ☺️ Reach out if you have any questions!

Here is a walk video: Camrbia and Suites Anaheim | Walk to Toy Story Lot Katella Pedestrian Entrance

We loved the room size here and it includes hot breakfast.
@@AnaheimParkTourist oh my goodness, thank you so much for all the info! I will check out all your videos!
Thanks for the nice video!
I booked this hotel to stay in Anaheim from Japan.
I made a reservation on the official website that shows the information before the renovation, but I did not receive a reservation completion email.
I have a 6 digit confirmation number... Did you receive an email after you booked the hotel?
Hi! I did receive a confirmation email with a 6 digit code from information@candycaneinn.net
I would double check your junk mail folder. If you didn’t receive anything, I would email the hotel. State your confirmation number and you want to confirm your stay at the hotel for the days of your trip.
Thank you so much for watching all the way from Japan!

I forgot the spam folder existed.
I checked, but there was no email.
I will inquire at the hotel.
thanks so much! !
You are welcome. Sorry we couldn’t be more help on this. I don’t know how responsive the hotel is via email. They are very friendly over the phone if you must call.
