I do wish that if we have a depth map on hand that we could use that to determine the focal range, would help as some cameras do create a depth map but they're also not hard to make through 3D art programs as well.

You'll hardly believe this, but a golden retriever chased my miniature schnauzer, knocked her to the ground, and held her down by her neck with its owner frantically screaming at it. It looked like an old dog, and maybe it was unwell and in a bit of pain, but I have never before, in my 74 years on this planet, seen a grumpy golden retriever. On that same day a huge chocolate lab came running towards me. I thought it was saying hello and I leaned forward to give it a fuss, but it ran into me with enough force to knock me flat on my back! The lab was just being a bit scatty and its nice young lady owner helped me up with no harm done. So that was an eventful half hour at the dog park.

Hi Jesus, great video; all of the new features are great. I don't see the Lens Blur panel when I go under Camera Raw Filter. My Creative Cloud app says Photoshop is up-t-date.
Thanks Jesus a great video and walkthrough of this years new features. One thing though, with Generative Expand does that produce low resolution result like Generative Fill, because to my mind that will make your images un-usable other than for sharing on social media, certainly not printing.

What is the little box that now appears in the lower righthand corner of layer masks? It just appeared with the latest update and I have no idea what it is for and would like to remove it if possible.

Will the credentials also show that AI was used if it was only the AI noise reduction tool, for example in Photo Raw or Lightroom?

I have been moving further away from photoshop lately stable diffusion has got really good. Inpaint and controlnet is on a whole new level and the freedoms of making own models and loras is crazy. Can get 90% of the result for 2% of the effort. Example face swap.. reactor plugin in a1111 slap the photo in img2img and face in reactor hit generate and it’s done. Totally flawless also. Different background no issue prompt for it or just use control net and a prompt swap it from one of your other photos or generate no issues. It even has a plug-in for photoshop! You can change the pose of people everything now. It’s not going to do everything yet but man is it impressive if you want to do allot of things.

Hi, I just bought Photoshop Elements 2024 and most of the dropdowns are in gray. And when I bring up Guided, there is no elive or photomerge. Do I need to do something to bring all this up? Or am I forced into buying the upgrade 2024 as well?

As for me, first I think 1,000 credits will be plenty for me each month, and second , if I ever ran out and needed more then I think $4.99 for another 1,000 is a fair price.

I have to say, I was a bit disappointed with the generative expand in the crop tool. I had a 1024 x 1024px image and expanded the background to half that size on either side. Admittedly the actual look was great and matched, but the pixel quality was at least half the quality of the original. There is an obvious line if you zoom in to where the fill took place. Not sure if this will improve any over the next updates, but I have also noticed this on Firefly when rendering out. If you look at MidJourney expand it is spotless and without fault. Here's hoping for some improvements!

Agreed, this was a nice, concise presentation of the information. But it was just a little bit fast. When showing a new effect, it would be nice to have two or maybe 3 seconds to go, "*WHOAHH! That's COOL!", before moving on to the next one, just my opinion.
Just finding out I can draw a circle with the remove tool instead of colouring in the object had me hitting Like! I don't think I'll run out of 250 credits but, if I do, I'll just wait. Only using LR & PS for my own fun, not commercial.

What if ? I do not want to click on content credentials. It just leads to being charged money monthly from generated credits with your subscription?
I purposely bought Elements because I do not want to pay a monthly subscription.

Question. If I use the generative fill function but find I don't like the result and put the layer in the trash can, do I still lose a credit?
Short answer is Yeah. Unfortunately it is for every generation. But Adobe has pushed back the credits until January 2024 so things may change when they finally make the credits available.
