What a treat this was Mr Flyer! Thank you. I had never liked old bikes before, but now that I'm getting old my taste has changed considerably. What a beautiful set of bikes this was. I'm really loving your variety of bikes you show for us. At this rate, I'm going to go broke watching your vids! Thank you Mr Flyer. Once again you've opened my eyes for the better. Cheers groover ;-)
I’ve heard of CCM before and kind of given them the write off... never seen a featured look at one of their bikes before. Color me impressed! Good on em, not only is it a great looking product (if not exactly my style) but I really admire the guts it takes to launch an actual motorcycle brand in this day and age.
Hey SS great to have you along my hairy friend! ...and yes agreed, best of luck to 'em, hopefully these models will do well for them, most people seem to like 'em....all the best and thanks for dropping by (and love to Florida)....
Wishing CCM the best....enjoyed your trip to the show more than anything. Hoping to tour the UK by bike at some point. Thinking my face may get me turned back at customs LOL!!!
I can understand that for sure, though I ruddy love seeing welds like that. There's just something that exudes character from them. But hey, if everyone liked the same thing, we'd all be boring bastards!
It leaves it looking completely unfinished, I realise that's the look they were going for as opposed to a clean and uniform factory finish but it looks like it was put together in a shed by someone in too much of a hurry to paint it.
Just checked the vid again and realised it's not the welds themselves that I dislike, it's the discolouration of the tubing due to the heat involved with welding. If that had been removed, I would not have a problem with a clear coated frame.
Thanks for the look at the CCM machines TMF. BTW, just got my Tractive front shock installed on the R1200GS LC. Have not tried it out yet. Need to reinstall the plastics.
All hand built frames which proudly shows off the hand welded heat signatures. Looks great, would be a crime to paint over and would be missing the point. Nice.
Wow, what cracking bikes with some really trick looking touches, I don't think there was one that I wouldn't like in my dream garage. And well priced too! Nice vid TMF! 👍
Good video mate. I enjoyed that and it would have been nice to see a bit more of all that other cool stuff. And thanks for introducing me to CCM, Quality!
Agree with rollingthunder, the fuel tank dents look like an after thought when they realised the turning circle was poor. Then they will incorporate into all they range to make it look like a signature feature
Enjoy your show very informative, but as a newbie CBT, I am looking for a 125 for urban and going to work, I like the FB mondail and the new cb125r, what would be your pick, am really stuck between them both
If it takes ten years I want one of these bikes I’m drooling your thought again Mr Flyer you make us all poor lol test is booked beginning of August ride safe mate
Kinda seems confused. In some ways very elegant...particularly for bikes meant to be dirty. The burnt welds make it look like a garage project. I suppose that fits with the genre, but as these are more likely to stay showpieces, I think I'd want the frame painted. They need to do something to mask those "dimples." Makes the bike look pre-wrecked. I won't be selling my Thruxton just yet, but it's nice to see something a little different...and the show girls. ;)
Thanks buddy for sharing ..now have my new fantasy bike if i won the lottery...the scrambler... I imagine the naked frames are powdet coated in clear given the yellowish tint...(i used to do this for customers who wanted to show off the welds) Thanks again ....Peace and Love ☮❤
ha-ha yes the dents aren't great. I've been waiting to see a review of one of these bikes for ages but no one has actually got theirs apart from the singer James Blunt, who's a big fan apparently.
Love these bikes but at 6’5” they look like a toy under me sadly😆. You asked for feedback of the audio quality during your live feed and I wanted to add that I think you’ve nailed it. The live stream and voice over on this video both sound great.
I remember that Alan Clews bought what was left of the BSA competition department (scramblers) and that’s where it started. Lovely review there MrF. CCM as you say have fantastic attention to detail. The prices aren’t bad for what you’re getting.....some true engineering there. I’m with you on the Scrambler....very nice. Bobber? Don’t like em personally so not for me.
Yes the dimple in the tank, looks more like a dent, and unless things have changed since the spitfire, it is a plastic tank with no baffling. The tankshape is remmincent of the BSA a65 spitfire tank, rounded at front and back. The tank shape looks better in other colours than that silver, as does the frame. With the flat tracker, I can't understand why the tail section colours are not carried through to the tank, it seems a bit ad hoc.
CCMs looked great, are they able to get away with not having horrible Euro 4 exhausts, cos it looked liked the show bikes at least had nice proper exhausts. Looked like it was a nice day out. Great vid!
Loved looking at these at the NEC...they had some cool leather bags/accessories as well. Flat tracker with the gold cafe racer wheels would be my choice....but not sure they would entertain a mix and match approach! Never seen one in the wild! Would be a rare sight I’d say! Maybe the next show will be at London Luton airport! 😂
CCM does a tastefully spot on Modern Minimalist Steam Punk Industrial look to their line-up. I'd be keen for the scrambler too. The Mercedes was an appreciated inclusion, along with the ladies. ;)
Had a spitfire pass me on my KTM the other day, sounded great, looked small, but that could have been down to the size of the rider...ccm also did a small number of flat trackers before (the ft35 and a bigger brother nicknamed the sledge hammer) these proved reliable and great fun for a Sunday blast and I don’t see why these wouldn’t be the same. I say good on CCM for making these kind of bikes and long may it continue....
I like the look of the scrambler. The welding on all of the bikes looks great. Kind of refined rat bike look. I wonder how they ride, have you rode any of their bikes?
Lovely looking machines. I'm actually quite surprised they are not more expensive given that they are custom. On a more boring tangent, I wonder what it entails living with one of those bikes, in terms of how you go about sorting mechanical problem or if you need a replacement part. But maybe people that buy these bikes keep them mostly garaged.
TheMissendenFlyer I think that you have been misinformed about the engine. It is an SWM engine. SWM is a Chinese owned company so I have my doubts about the country of origin for the rest of the components too.
yeah granted there's not much you can do with 3 letters but as it is, it looks like a parcel company logo at best...not much of a fan of the Union Jack either, smacks of brexit, ukippers and the Royal Family a bit, but thats probably just me!
Nice one TMF. Seems a strange event.....being a local myself, i am surprised I didn’t see it advertised anywhere! Who is their customer base.........super rich i expect.........not me then! Like the cafe racer, but not sure about those frame welds............
Great looking bikes, but I’m also not a fan if the dimples on the tank, fantastic welding, like the effects from the weld scars, really high quality components and finishes that you don’t realise until you get up close too.
Watched a video last night featuring 6 serving soldiers attempting to set a new world record by being the first people to complete the pan Americas highway on a motorcycle. Their weapon of choice was a CCM450GP. They did it, 20,000 miles in 4 weeks and all 6 bikes made it to the finish line.
In Canada CCM (1899 Canada Cycle & Motor) was a huge manufacturer of bicycles, but now mostly an ice skate and hockey equipment company. BTW, I thought the exposed welds are ugly. Trying to make a production bike (although limited) look like a handmade custom... I think it would be much nicer with a finished frame.
Not all that keen on the open air filter, tends to make them run like a dog and lose power but form over function comes first I guess. Makes you wonder how it passes the Euro emissions.
The engines look very similar to the off-road engines husky makes. I wonder if they need a valve set every 20hrs and piston and rings after every 50hrs!
The CCM's do really look cool.. I still have the Literature I almost bought a CCM 500 CC Motocross bike back in about 1982. I have all the Literature.. Price was $2,200.00 They used the BSA B-50 Goldstar Motor back then .. As CCM did take over BSA Tooling I think ..
Cool bikes. A friend has a Flat Tracker on order. Lives near to you. I could talk to him nicely........ although he's currently negotiating with the 'boss' to be allowed to park it in the lounge and stare at it.
I'd like a Sportster too, can do a lot to em. The CCM seems really good quality, waiting in anticipation to see you test one. Lively weather here in Aberystwyth but I've just had a 6 he spinal fusion op so on crutches for a few weeks, never mind I can polish it more hee hee 🖒😎
Good old Clews Concrete Mixers as they were affectionately call back in the 70's. Had a go on one of the last variants of the B40 based motox bike back in the day. I think it was a 580 with a Westlake 4 valve head. Terrified the life out of me, 3 gears and even the experts said you only ever need second. Of the ones on show I loved the cafe racer although I can't see your boot soles lasting very long with that exhaust blasting on them
Hi TMF looks a well made motorcycle not sure if it's practical for use in our weather I always thought a motorcycle was not road legal without a chainguard
Eh, where's the cat, abs and other mandatory features in order for a bike to get type approval for road use? Is there a derogation for small production runs? I don't know the details of the legislation, can anyone explain please?
Thanks for that, must say I’m not keen on all that exposed welding with burn/heat detail. Was thinking, another name for you could be “ The White Van Follower” 😁
Nice video. Great to see more choices available. The looks/style does not appeal to my tastes. Looks like a carefully crafted machine nevertheless. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful bikes except for the “dents” in the fuel tank. Gives the bike character and a unique look some might say but that would be a deal breaker for me.
Love bobbers and call me a snob or bike uninformed but I don't like the exposed weld marks. Yes, I know it's meant to look authentic but you didn't build it....you just dropped 10K on it. So get a proper paint job....! Cheers for the review TMF, bikes and lady in the shiny skirt were great.
Lovely, almost a Steampunk theme going on with those bikes.
Wouldn’t mind one of those in the garage. Wonder what the wear and tear is like when used regularly.
Yep that did cross my mind. Cheers!
Love the fact you can see the welds I like it what stunning bikes
What a treat this was Mr Flyer! Thank you. I had never liked old bikes before, but now that I'm getting old my taste has changed considerably. What a beautiful set of bikes this was. I'm really loving your variety of bikes you show for us. At this rate, I'm going to go broke watching your vids! Thank you Mr Flyer. Once again you've opened my eyes for the better. Cheers groover ;-)
Cheers as ever!
Aesthetically stunning bikes. Just works of art.
Yup!!
Thanks TMF for showing the different designs and people's idea's ,which can be used on a later project if needed too...........
Flat tracker looked fab!
I agree....
Lovely looking bikes.
Gimme the tracker but fitted with the gold wheels 😀
Wishing CCM the best....enjoyed your trip to the show more than anything. Hoping to tour the UK by bike at some point. Thinking my face may get me turned back at customs LOL!!!
Is that avatar an actual picture of you then?
Face of 'The Resistance'.....
Nice looking bikes really like the café racer but I would have to have the frame power-coated, I dislike the weld scars.
Yep totally agree, I'd prefer a little powder coat for my £10k
I can understand that for sure, though I ruddy love seeing welds like that. There's just something that exudes character from them. But hey, if everyone liked the same thing, we'd all be boring bastards!
It leaves it looking completely unfinished, I realise that's the look they were going for as opposed to a clean and uniform factory finish but it looks like it was put together in a shed by someone in too much of a hurry to paint it.
And that's your opinion that you're entitled to, and I respect that. Just chimed in with my own opinion :)
Ive never heard of CCM before. They look really good!
Yeah a low volume British manufacturer that bought out the old BSA tooling some years back....
All hand built frames which proudly shows off the hand welded heat signatures. Looks great, would be a crime to paint over and would be missing the point. Nice.
timayla123 ,,,,hand-built where?
truth teller easy enough to find. Look at the bottom pf their web page for the address.
www.ccm-motorcycles.com/
Works of art, I like the flat tracker.....very nice.
Me too...
Amazing looking CCM machines...thank you for the vid
Thanks for watching!
Hadn't heard of CCM before, so cheers for the visit to see them, TMF... wonder how they sound? The pipes look aggressive.
According to the sales guy they sound great, but then I guess he would say that!
TheMissendenFlyer Naturlich...
Wow, what cracking bikes with some really trick looking touches, I don't think there was one that I wouldn't like in my dream garage. And well priced too! Nice vid TMF! 👍
Cheers Andy - and I agree!
Great video, thanks. Did you happen to see if the scrambler had a bash plate on the underside?
Err, can't remember....sorry!
Good video mate. I enjoyed that and it would have been nice to see a bit more of all that other cool stuff. And thanks for introducing me to CCM, Quality!
Cheers Mark.....lots of very fancy kit at that show....(not to mention some of the punters)....
Great vid TMF, I get my CCM Spitfire Scrambler next month and I can't wait.
Lucky man, enjoy - TMF
Chilli Vega has your Spitfire arrived yet? Is it as good as Henry Cole reported?
truth teller I wish, been some delays, it's built now just waiting for msva testing. Not long now.
Agree with rollingthunder, the fuel tank dents look like an after thought when they realised the turning circle was poor. Then they will incorporate into all they range to make it look like a signature feature
Yeah I bet there's some truth in that.... :0)
I like the look of that flat tracker.
Me too....
Enjoy your show very informative, but as a newbie CBT, I am looking for a 125 for urban and going to work, I like the FB mondail and the new cb125r, what would be your pick, am really stuck between them both
I'd probably go for the Mondial - just because it's so different...
I liked the look of the bobber best...great video thank you.
Thanks for coming along Marty!
I won't be selling my Thruxton just yet, but it's nice to see something a little different...and the show girls. ;)
Thanks for watching saddlebag - and great to see not everywhere has banned the promo-totty....
Great video. Nice to see you promoting CCM.
Glad you liked it Simon, although it wasn’t intended to be a promotion of CCM! Thanks for watching, all best - TMF
Yes, but I suspect you have like me, a soft spot for real engineers crafting something nice.
Indeed I do...especially British ones making things called Spitfires!
TheMissendenFlyer unless it's a Triumph Spitfire. I had one. It wasn't great! Now have a Triumph Tiger. That's good.
Thanks buddy for sharing ..now have my new fantasy bike if i won the lottery...the scrambler...
I imagine the naked frames are powdet coated in clear given the yellowish tint...(i used to do this for customers who wanted to show off the welds)
Thanks again ....Peace and Love ☮❤
Yes I reckon you're right there....
Loved the show commentary did make me laugh out loud at points.
Glad you liked it!
These bikes all look glorious; the flat tracker especially. Would LOVE a go on one 👍🏻
Me too....
Interesting bikes but have they actually delivered any of the sold ones yet? I heard there were issues with the tank manufacturing or something.
...yeah, they've all got those dents in the front!!! Seriously, I don't know, first I've heard of any issues....
ha-ha yes the dents aren't great. I've been waiting to see a review of one of these bikes for ages but no one has actually got theirs apart from the singer James Blunt, who's a big fan apparently.
Man that flat tracker looks unbelievable
Yeah cool isn't it....
Love these bikes but at 6’5” they look like a toy under me sadly😆.
You asked for feedback of the audio quality during your live feed and I wanted to add that I think you’ve nailed it. The live stream and voice over on this video both sound great.
Brilliant - thanks Paul....
Yes I agree, the Bobber is my least favourite of the bunch - the flat tracker and scrambler would do me...
Any chance you could review Moto Guzzi, v9 or v7?
Would love too! Getting a hold of them is the issue....
Another breakfast viewing! Top Job TMF!
Helps the cornflakes go down....
The Bobber is gorgeous. I want one.
Does CCM only excist in London?
Nope - they very much exist in Bolton (where they’re made)...
I want to order one. But i Live in Sweden, and as far as I know we have no dealers or service here. For future maintenance
CCMs looked great, are they able to get away with not having horrible Euro 4 exhausts, cos it looked liked the show bikes at least had nice proper exhausts. Looked like it was a nice day out. Great vid!
I guess it may be an exception due the low volume manufacture....
Great looking bike's 👌
Lovely looking machines indeed! Want one! ...or two... ;-) Thank you for uploading this, sir. :-)
You're welcome John...
nice - surprised the café version had NO front mud guard at all!
I think I might have to buy one of those! How do they do it for under £10K!? What engines do they use?
I do apologise, you said they use Husky engines in the vid. They look amazing!
Dan Rockell they are SWM engines and not Husqvarna as mentioned in the video
CCM does a tastefully spot on Modern Minimalist Steam Punk Industrial look to their line-up. I'd be keen for the scrambler too.
The Mercedes was an appreciated inclusion, along with the ladies. ;)
Glad you approve....
Flat Track from CCM was very good looking.... Also the Carbon Fiber 1299 was a really good looking bike.
Yes I agree....some nice its of kit on show - thanks for watching...
That Spitfire Scrambler looks fantastic. Blag a ride on one if you can.
I'd love a go on one Dave, sadly they are quite few and far between so I don't think that is very likely to happen :0(
Had a spitfire pass me on my KTM the other day, sounded great, looked small, but that could have been down to the size of the rider...ccm also did a small number of flat trackers before (the ft35 and a bigger brother nicknamed the sledge hammer) these proved reliable and great fun for a Sunday blast and I don’t see why these wouldn’t be the same. I say good on CCM for making these kind of bikes and long may it continue....
Yes good to see another British manufacturer making a go of it isn't it....
TheMissendenFlyer ,,,,British manufacturer or British assembler?
The RNineT has similar dents on the front of the tank. That's the one thing I don't like about it, that and lack of decent front & back mudguards.
True, but somehow the R9T ones look more like they're meant to be there....
Nice looking set of bikes TMF :-) You still getting the Zero bike back mate ??
Hope so - not fully confirmed dates yet though....
I like the look of the scrambler. The welding on all of the bikes looks great. Kind of refined rat bike look. I wonder how they ride, have you rode any of their bikes?
Sadly not, I'd love too, hard to get hold of though as they're so rare....
The Tracker looks the best IMO, I was really impressed with the Spitfire up at the NEC when I went last year.
Yes interesting point...I think CCM are the type of company that are likely to look after you..
Elite London?! Christ on a bike AND IN WYCOMBE!!😆 Love the CCM bikes mind you - let’s hope you get to test one 👍
They are rare beasts - the chances of me getting to ride one are close to zero I would think....(mores the pity)...
Wow they all look fantastic, would love one and British too, (apart from Husky engine).
Yeah, we'll skirt over that little detail....
TheMissendenFlyer I think that you have been misinformed about the engine. It is an SWM engine. SWM is a Chinese owned company so I have my doubts about the country of origin for the rest of the components too.
Ccm brand is seriously cool. I was hoping you we’re doing a test ride review when I saw this vlog pop up :(
...now that would be nice!
Been waiting for their GP600 forever but they seem keen on developing different forms of basically exactly the same bike!
Nice bikes, not sure about the CCM logo tho.
A bit to "normal" you mean?
yeah granted there's not much you can do with 3 letters but as it is, it looks like a parcel company logo at best...not much of a fan of the Union Jack either, smacks of brexit, ukippers and the Royal Family a bit, but thats probably just me!
Nice one TMF. Seems a strange event.....being a local myself, i am surprised I didn’t see it advertised anywhere!
Who is their customer base.........super rich i expect.........not me then!
Like the cafe racer, but not sure about those frame welds............
Yes a bizarre event, certainly not meant for the locals! :0) ...I will be very surprised if it happens again next year....
OMG, those CCM's are gorgeous!!!! Can't decide which one i would take... if i could afford it :P
I loved the CCM bikes, normally i'm a sports bike kind of guy but they were special and at 9.5K affordable.
Great looking bikes, but I’m also not a fan if the dimples on the tank, fantastic welding, like the effects from the weld scars, really high quality components and finishes that you don’t realise until you get up close too.
I agree 100%
Fair enough Garth, a matter of personal taste I guess, I love the mechanistic look.....
Looking at the CCM website, the bobber is sold out
Wow!
The only problem I see is which one I would have as they are all amazing, I hope you can have a ride on one and do a review
Now that would be good!
TheMissendenFlyer just seen a review on the motorbike show and they sang its praise well apart from the key and side stand
Not all that keen on the open air filter, tends to make them run like a dog and lose power but form over function comes first I guess.
Makes you wonder how it passes the Euro emissions.
Yes, I'm not sure if limited run bikes do have to be Euro 4 compliant....I'm sure someone can put us straight...
Some amazing things on show. I particularly liked the shiny skirt, which was nice too. Ha ha, that line made me laugh ;-)
Yes there were a few very expensive looking distractions there....
especially the marriage risks.....
The engines look very similar to the off-road engines husky makes. I wonder if they need a valve set every 20hrs and piston and rings after every 50hrs!
I hope not!
TheMissendenFlyer it isnt a Husqvarna engine so hopefully the SWM engine used is more reliable.
Nice one Sir, personally my choice would be the flat tracker.
Yeah I might go for that one too...they all look good though.....
Nice video. Thank you Sir!!
They all look great. Do you think these Limited Edition bikes will hold their value?
I imagine they probably will...or go up...
Nice looking bike have the ccm 604 E its got the supermoto wheels
Lovely looking bikes I'd have one as a 2nd bike no problem 😎👍
Me too - or a 5th bike for that matter!
Indeed they did....
Is it worth buying one as an investment and leaving it in the garage I wonder ?
Possibly?
I had one on order, being a CCM GP450 rider I love their machines, but life got in the way.
Bother...hate it when that happens....
Cool bikes. A friend has a Flat Tracker on order. Lives near to you. I could talk to him nicely........ although he's currently negotiating with the 'boss' to be allowed to park it in the lounge and stare at it.
Nice one :0)
I'd like a Sportster too, can do a lot to em. The CCM seems really good quality, waiting in anticipation to see you test one. Lively weather here in Aberystwyth but I've just had a 6 he spinal fusion op so on crutches for a few weeks, never mind I can polish it more hee hee 🖒😎
Hope all is well soon Geoff - all the best mate - TMF
Gorgeous looking bikes the CCM. You've really got to try a Harley as i`m sure you`d be surprised at how they ride!!!! Defiantly not everyone's cuppa.
I will defo be riding a Harley at some point - hopefully soon!
Of the ones on show I loved the cafe racer although I can't see your boot soles lasting very long with that exhaust blasting on them
Please come to the USA, i want every CCM
Hi TMF looks a well made motorcycle not sure if it's practical for use in our weather I always thought a motorcycle was not road legal without a chainguard
Not sure on the rules with small production runs...
Nice thanx for the info
Eh, where's the cat, abs and other mandatory features in order for a bike to get type approval for road use? Is there a derogation for small production runs? I don't know the details of the legislation, can anyone explain please?
Motorcycle as fashion accessory?
Yes I think there might be a bit of that but why not!
Thanks for that, must say I’m not keen on all that exposed welding with burn/heat detail.
Was thinking, another name for you could be “ The White Van Follower” 😁
Don't get me started!
oh heck th-cam.com/video/LGrjC_axWoA/w-d-xo.html
Have to agree with you on the tank.....looks like someone hit it with a hammer......apart from that very nice machine.
Nice video. Great to see more choices available. The looks/style does not appeal to my tastes. Looks like a carefully crafted machine nevertheless.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Good to see CCM finding a market to bring in the cash, but can't help feeling those bikes are nothing but (well made) shiny baubles......?
Yeah I think that sort of hipster market is probably their target.....
The CCM' are pure bike porn!! Great vid as always TMF!
Thanks - and I agree!
Beautiful bikes except for the “dents” in the fuel tank. Gives the bike character and a unique look some might say but that would be a deal breaker for me.
Yes is a little like a bodge that isn't it.....
I think they look fantastic & you got to take the GS off road 🤣
Indeed I did - I'm glad you spotted that!
Will you get a go on one of these?
I doubt it - unless CCM are watching! (hint!)
Totally love it
Love bobbers and call me a snob or bike uninformed but I don't like the exposed weld marks. Yes, I know it's meant to look authentic but you didn't build it....you just dropped 10K on it. So get a proper paint job....!
Cheers for the review TMF, bikes and lady in the shiny skirt were great.
...you're welcome...and I agree...
Many thanks 🖒😎
