    The depth of this review is fantastic. Exactly the info I’m looking for as someone who has a constant cut/slice. A basic review of this club can be found all over TH-cam. This review is by far the best/most in depth. Keep up the good work.

      Great comment. I just bought this driver and haven’t hit it on the range yet, but I’m figuring that IF it produces too much draw bias that would be exactly what I’d try…. Lower the loft setting. Might even produce a few more yards? Thanks.

      @@deangilles718 I’ve now posted about 10 rounds with this driver and it’s awesome. I’m hitting mostly straight drives, or they tend to draw a little. Very, very rarely will one tail off to the right (fade for me) and when that happens I’m sure it was because of a crappy swing where I left the face open. I now aim to the right because the right rough is all but eliminated. This is way different for me. Much more confident knowing where the ball is going off the tee.its just so consistent. Great driver.

    Experienced exactly what your tests show. Struggle with a consistent fade/slice and SFT sorted it out immediately. Distance and spin suffers but man the SFT just wants to draw…

  • @mikesnowden1054
    @mikesnowden1054 ปีที่แล้ว

    I generally hit a soft fade (Rogue draw set neutral), but my bad ones - the tree finders - are draw pulls. The question for me would be the consistency of one vs the other, especially if the hit point ISN'T the centre.

    You laugh, why? This driver is “meant” for slicers. A dude who slices the ball could easily hit this driver in the fairway a lot. You should have a guy who is a slicer of the ball doing this assessment of the g 430 sft driver.

    Great review Jay. One constructive criticism of this review is the background music is too loud
    Now onto the club. My miss is left so I would go for the G430 LST or maybe Max Love the new sound.
    Next spring I’ll be comparing the G430 LST or max, TSR2 and Callaway Paradym to my 2016 M2! Nothing can beat it out yet ! My last shaft upgrade was in November 2021 with a Small Batch Evenflow Riptide CB 6.0 and I love it. 1.49 smash. So far
    One club that could potentially beat it out will be TSR2. Last month I hit it indoors on Trackman, got 3.7 yards more carry than my average w my M2, same 2100 spin and same 1.49 smash. Yes it’s probably more forgiving than my M2 but I can’t justify $650 USD for only 3.7 yards of carry !!

    Great review! Lots of detail and I tend to geek out about the kind of information you are providing. The details are appreciated. I’m not so much a slicer, just tend to hit too many annoying pushes right (or unwanted fades.) Currently play to a 9 hdcp but I’m hopeful this driver would correct some of that persistent swing flaw?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It basically moves your baseline curvature either less fade or a little more draw than what you do currently. Rarely does someone see a dramatic start line direction change by going a draw biased head. If the change in curvature is too great, there is also ways the standard Max in the Draw setting that will split the difference 👍🏻

      @@AskGolfNut Thanks again. Today was my first round with the G430 SFT. I lost nothing to the right and the fade was gone (maybe one drifted a little right but totally playable.) • @robertglover1296

    The SFT is absurd! Why would PING develop a Club that that someone that slices to the right off the fairway, now Draws it equally bad to the Left off the fairway. I have a bad slice to the right sometimes or I hit it right up the middle. But I tried the 430 SFT at Dicks Sporting Goods and I couldn’t hit anything but a draw. I was hitting draws when I tried to slice it. You think PING could develop a Middle Biased Driver in the future? I would gladly give up 20 yards of distance to consistently hit the middle of the fairway. They did a hell of a job making a draw club

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Only thing to consider is that the SFT is actually the least forgiving of all the models and that's actually including the LST. If you remove the weight and say replace it with a lighter one for example you need less halo with curvature, then yes it will reduce the curvature assistance bit it also reduces the MOI/Forgiveness of the head further 👍🏻

I game the G410 SFT it works for me 8-10 times straight the other 2 are hooks so wondering if maybe 430 sft draw or max in draw would be a nice next step for me? The 410 sft looks very closed at address to me.

    I keep hearing from the Ping reviews that say Ping lightened the head a little but I saw someone had weighed the head and it was still around the 204-206g range. So basically still about 10g heavier than most other brand heads. How about weighing all 3 of the heads and updating us what you find?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are still heavier than most but it's starting their trend to changing their engineering design direction going forward go now trying to mstch other manufacturers head speed potential yet continuing their top dog forgiveness status. I think the inclusion of a carbon crown in G435 will make the next big engineering difference. The fact that Ping have moved it enough to come away from all counterbalanced shaft options does now add something. Still some way to go though 👍
      Take a look at the LST video, that has got carbon crown and that does show an increase in head speed 👍

      @askgolfnut, im a year late to your review but, I tried the SFT at Dicks Sports and hit the SFT at 9degrees exactly like you did. Got rid of my right slice and gave me a left slice. Surely Ping realizes that they created twice as much Drew Bias as they should have. I’m wondering if possibly I should wait and see if Ping comes out with G430 10K in a SFT version and they correct the (Too much Draw Bias Problem). I really wanted to buy the SFT but afraid I will be unhappy with it. That club is a crying shame

      @@davidm7031 Based on what the Ping rep told me, the standard "Draw" setting is less draw biased than the G425 but the Draw+ setting is more draw biased than the G425. About half way. Ping made the models so that there would be a graduation of movement from neutral to full draw bias. If anyone only needs the 1st draw setting on the SFT, I would suggest going with the Draw on the standard Max and work on neutralising the swing some more 👍

      As pointed out in the video, the degree of movement is also a function of swing speed and the associated amount of spin generated, so I would suggest trying it before dismissing it, especially if you’re in the slower/moderate speed swing category. I’m in my early 60s now with a slightly dodgy back, my driver swing speed is around 90mph, and the G410 SFT has been my gamer for about 2 years. I am a straight ball hitter generally, but could occasionally hit the soft, right, high, high spinning fade that went no distance and left me on or in the tree line. The SFT for me virtually eliminated that fade shot overnight and, no, I don’t hit any big left hooks at all, a soft draw is about the most extreme shot I get, and that’s only once or twice per round, again I’m still generally straight with the SFT and hit most fairways. The point is that, for me and possibly other 90mph swingers, the SFT isn’t as extreme as it is for faster players … so try it. I’ve just tested and ordered the G430 SFT, which I was even more consistently straight with.

      The SFT is designed for golfers that need the help reducing curvature, its always preferable to receive coaching to fix the swing related issues rather than using tech to do it, however there is a place for all i guess. Mainly though I would suggest people get the much more flexible MAX option with the moveable weight, this way the golf club can grow with the golfer rather than the more 1 dimensional SFT. 👍
