It's my understanding that the founder died and the patent was inherited by a family member that chose to discontinue production. Not 100% sure that's true, just what I was told. I also heard that Wildernest had to cease production because of a patent infringement levied by FlipPac.
My family is expanding so I'm looking for something larger and still light weight. The AT Habitat looks pretty good too and it's #1 on my list currently. That or an offroad trailer but I hate pulling a trailer.
@@dennismcmahon the flip pac was discontinued because of poor sales I believe . It was before it’s time. My uncles were the owners of FRP. One of them passed away years ago and sad to say I’m going to the funeral today for my other uncle. We used to show these at the Pomona swap meet as well as the SEMA show before it was as big as it is now.

Hey man! Just purchased a flippac, been searching forever. Mine has a broken hinge and I was just wondering if you did the Torision bar delete aka just using supports to hold bed up or if you still have the bar? Seen you didn’t use the torsion bar to fold and unfold so was just wondering! Cheers!
I would advise agains a torsion bar delete. The weight of the top coming down and and the added weight of people sleeping above would require some serious reinforcement of the legs/supports and also much more preparedness and a second set of hands when deploying.
