      What about the folding seams, won’t this become a point of failure after repeated operation and sustained exposure to sun, heat, moisture and air? It’s a lot cheaper and easier to replace a fabric or membrane tent than it would be to replace those folding seams. Please correct me if I am wrong.

      @@heart4Pahoa those seams look to be made out of wood and a metal hinge , i dont think they will fail easily plus they are only exposed to the elements when you are actually camping in it

      @@heart4Pahoa from what I can see in other videos it looks like those seems are a hinge and weather stripping. Pretty easy fix.

    Oh, now this is what I’ve been looking for! What a great design. I was literally looking at a pop-up in the campsite next to us and thinking, “Why doesn’t anyone make a hard-side pop-up?” We used to pull an Aliner, and I always wondered why slide-in campers didn’t incorporate some of those hard-side pop-up features.
    What’s great about your design is that you can still use the truck’s bed for utility, even if you leave the camper on. PERFECT. When we come off the road and I get a pickup again, I’m definitely going to hit you guys up for one of these!

    I really like your design. I like a hard-sided pop-up. One suggestion would be to have the option of having windows in the swing up side doors, too. If I'm out in beautiful nature, I'd like to be able to see out the windows on all sides. Plus, windows will make it seem larger inside.

    • @flowersafeheart
      @flowersafeheart ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know what you're saying yet I wonder if their reason for completely covering the windows is so if there's a very strong storm not right by glass that can break. I once spent some nights in an RV and felt very scared in it when a tornado warning came through though luckily there was a house nearby where we could spend that night not right by any windows.
      But maybe there's a way to have both options where those window covers can completely fold or slide away when desired.

    I have been filming campers and trailers for years at the overland expo and SEMA and have become a big fan of truck campers specifically for overlanding.
    I am shocked that there aren't more pop top and hard wall campers? So far I have only seen Alaskan Campers which are amazing but also very expensive at $30,000+ and that's with no toilet lol. Their design is also kind odd with its flat front. Very non aerodynamic. And lastly theirs is extremely heavy.
    I like your design. Sleek, simple and looks like it can be ordered as an empty shell or built up with cabinetry. I love it.
    I hope I can interview you guys at Overland Expo 2020? I'm also such a big fan of truck campers that I recently bought a Tundra project truck so I am very interested in your camper even more.
    Keep up the good work. See you soon.

    If you make another video like this one, you may want to include a before (bare bones interior) and after (all decked out, ready for camping interior) video clips. To say that you can build any layout one wants or that custom interiors are possible, does not really satisfy the visual input of possibilities that people like me require. Kind of hard to want to stay in a bare box. But really love your philosophy.

    For me I would like a composting toilet with lots of room for a large individual. I would also have a large indoor and outdoor shower that all operate from the main kitchen sink faucet with on demand hot water to lessen water waste. I would like a large refrigerator/freezer storage capacity for long trips. Also pull out truck bed drawers for "dirty" gear and with an elevated floor there would be room for extra water and fuel storage. I would also like one that utilized more overhead space that folded out over the front of the truck and maybe came to rest on hood mounts allowing for maximum sleeping area and no need to cover the area in the bed of the truck. I would also like fully electric and solar components charging from solar and alternator with powerful enough inverter to operate a/c and convection oven at the same time. I would use a diesel air and water heater plumbed into the extra fuel tank so the only thing you have to fill for your journey is the fuel tank. I would have grey water drain to the ground with extra hose to drain away from the camping area. all these amenities would probably sacrifice room for seating or a dinet but with a covered area that starts clear at the very front of the cab and folds all the way around the rear of the vehicle with attachable bug netting would provide plenty of covered seating area. I also have an Idea for a large door swing that would attach to the rear bumper/frame area with a built in kitchen and outside shower area if you are interested in hearing about it let me know!
