In this video we head out to explore Vina Del Mar and start by getting some great food and coffee before taking in the sights of the city and Pacific ocean.
Vina Del Mar has a lovely relaxed beach vibe all year round, we visited in the shoulder season (May) so the weather was mild and perfect for walking and exploring.
We absolutely loved the sunset spot we visit in this video and highly recommend getting yourself here if you visit Vina Del Mar.

I would agree that the hike to the top of the dunes was totally worth it! I love when you can see water, mountains and the city from one spot.

The sunset view from the sanddunes is so beautiful! You just needed a bodyboard to slide back down 😅 oh, also love the city views on the other side of the dunes…so cool!
Bodyboards would’ve been awesome, although the kids were just throwing themselves down 😅

there is a suburbantrain that links Valparaiso to Viña and rides some 40 km to small towns away from the ocean. In case you return.

Wow! That poke bowl look especially delicious. Glad you guys made it down to Concon. Sliding down those sand dunes was one of our favorite Vina del Mar memories.
It’s beautiful there isn’t it? We loved how cold and fresh the sand felt as we stepped too.
Great video! If you came to viña del mar again I should recommed you to make a hike to Cerro Mauco in Con con , where you can find a complete view of the coast from valparaiso to further north. And in the same place, there is another hill called Cerro La campana where you can see the ocean and the Andes mountains and Mount Aconcagua.

Cathedrals, museums, archaeological sites, boat trips, evening restaurants with live music?
We didn't have time for anything else but the food scene in the evenings is great.

Valparaiso or vina del mar for two nights stay? What would you recommend. Thanks
For us Vina Del Mar because it has more to enjoy and felt safe but the important thing to remember is to book a place North of the river. You can then jump in an Uber to see Valparaiso for the day/afternoon.
