Great video! Have just finished painting up my Nightstalkers warband, and I agree, there’s some fantastic models in this range. Am playing my first games tonight, and am looking forward to it a lot. Keep up the good work :)

Well Vanguards got your back buddy. I intend to pick up more at launch so will cover it more as I get more stuff and still have the booster kits to add into another Bat Rep soon.
For some reason a fantasy skirmish appeals to me more than a sci-fi one because I can imagine the team of characters building their levels up and collecting gold and weapons

I just bought into Vanguard last week and I love the system, I was hesitant at first but the game really works nicely and the fatigue/Power Points system is a really nice touch that separates Vanguard from all the other games. How do you feel now about Vanguard? Would you do more content for it despite it almost being dead at Mantic? Maybe you could help breathe new life into the game, I would love an expansion that included more choices from the Kings of War line, like full Vampires instead of Halfling Vampires, and Dwarven IronWatch with rifles for examples.

See with d6s I prefer the Spartan Games method of rerolls. Especially if it is like Halo Ground and is limited by the original dice rolled. So you can reroll fails, save for 1s, but can't go over the initial dice pool in reroll amounts but can reroll a reroll until you are out of rerolls to spend. Especially given how most of Vanguard is +1d8 instead of flat +1 to hit it would probably be a bit interesting to see how it would work out.

To be honest I’m a big fan of the adding or taking away from a dice pool rather than adjusting stats as it’s just easier to remember on the fly however I’ve never played any Spartan games so I’m not familiar with your method. @@BlackJackLegacy It essentially was custom dice based on a 4+ with a 1 being a critical failure. A 6 was worth 2 successes and depending on the units involved could grant rerolls. The custom dice they had could easily be adapted into a game like Dracula's America or even Bushido.
So do you need the vanguard character cards to play? Or can I use some of the pieces from KOW, I don’t want to have to buy duplicates just for the cards.

Follow up question, this is kind of a stupid one I know, but is there a way to play KOW with individual character removal to simulate battlefield loses? That’s my only real gripe with the game, obviously not a serious one, just curios. Thanks

Listen, I think Mantic's models are pretty good. I love their TWD models and many others. But to say they are on the same quality level as say, GW? That's just silly.
I never said they were on the same level. I said that if another miniatures company released them people would rave about them. GW make amazing sculpts and they’re by far the best out there in my opinion however I think Mantics current minis are up there alongside (and above some) of the other competition.

No need to apologise at all. The new sculpts for Vanguard are really good and I stand by my comment that you need to see them in the flesh to appreciate the quality. The plastics are clean and crisp and the resins are the best Mantic have ever produced in my opinion. Wether you like the style or not is personal taste but the quality is really good. I don’t think they are buddy. You don’t need many to be honest so 6 D8’s would likely be more than enough. I have mine from Deadzone so never even thought about it until you mentioned it.
BlackJack Legacy i guess i can do that also since i have Deadzone but it's kind of a shame they didn't provide any with the power dice pack. But i don't like the idea of taking dice from an other game.

It's not dead.. Ronny (Mantic) pretty much said it's getting an update, clean up and re-release probably by the end of 2024

The cards are handy but you can play without them. You can use Easy Army where all of the stats are available for free.

GW has lost its edge. Cracking out cheaper plastics in there Boardgame’s. Finally we don’t have to hear “they’re not as good as GW models but...”
Definitely. GW have phenomenal quality but you couldn't accuse the Mantic stuff of being poor. They've knocked it out of the park on the new sculpts.
