    Lahat ng Electrical Eng'g student, graduate at practitioner alam yan. May nag alok sakin ng ganyan dito sa Calamba sa halagang 1000. Sabi ko bibilhin ko buong stock mo kung mapatunayan mong energy saver nga yan. May mga baon syang tester at watt meter at pinakita nya sakin demo nya. That time bumili ako water heater kaya sabi ko ito gamitin mo. Paunahan tayo pakulo ng tubig. Sa energy saver nya, inabot 20mins, sa wall outlet 5mins. Pinagbintangan nya akong madaya at deffective daw water heater ko. Kinuha ko tester nya at pinakita sa kanya na mababa yung voltage ng device nya kaya ang tagal kumulo ng tubig. Dami nyang sat-sat, pinakita ko na lng PRC ID ko.

      Ang capacitor ng ref pwedeng gawin energy saver pero sa mga inductive load lang pwede gumana pag sa resistive load hinde sya applicable.. Pero kong bumaba man kapiraso lang at halos sa starting lang sya gagana.

    Maraming paraan kung papanu mkatipid sa kuryente at ma research yan sa mga websites. Ang isa sa importante, alam mo lahat ng wattage ng mga gadgets or appliances na kumunsumo ng kuryente. Ex. sa aircon, pag yan ang di mo gamitin, or i minimize pag gamit,malaking kabawasan sa monthly bill yan. Yung iba kc, ilaw pinapatay pra mkatipid, eh, 5 to 9 watts lng ilaw, importante may knowledge sa mga bagay2. Research lng kelangan pag di alam.

    Hahaha. Tama yang sinabi mo kaDIY. Hindi nga yan too. Gagana lang yan sa mga may heating element like soldering, flat iron, but Hindi yan gagana sa AC fan

      ung diode na shorted na ginawang power saver e totoo naman.. example ung oven toastre pag direct sa AC walang power saver ang daling mag init or mka luto.. pero pag dumaan sa power saver naku haha.. ang tagal mka pag toast.. why??? ksi nga ni limit mo ang heating capabilities ng oven toaster naka tipid ka nga un lang humaba ang oras mo sa pag aantay mka pag toast.... pahihinain nea ang power function ng motor gaya ng water pump nawhc is may sense hindi mo kailangan mag antay mapuno ang tank.. pero sa oven toaster e wag mo ng gamitin power saver kasi ma to toast ang brad mo hahha... KUng gus2 talaga mka tipid...tama naman ung cnabi ng admin Solar Power.. kea lang dapat may budjet ka mejo matagal din ang ROi.... as per testing talaga ng power saver using diode may advantage at dis advantage...

    Yan is para hatiin ang voltage into full wave dc voltage which kung 220V ang gamit mo baka hindi gumana or kung may resistive load ay mababawasan output power
    May Ibang energy saver naka capacitor para icorrect ang power factor pero depende na din kung ano load mo.

    may electrical engineer sa amin tinuruan kami paano makatipid sa kuryente, isang appliance lang ang pwede example aircon, ganito lang daw mula sa safety breaker magkabit ng dalawang wire gamitan ng plug at hanapin ang live o hotwire sa pamamagitan ng multi tester then markahan ang butas ng safety breaker kung nasaan ang live wire at i off ang breaker para di makuryente habang ginagawa ang procedure tapos putulin ang neutral wire at di na sya gagamitin pabalik sa kuntador i sealed na sya at gumawa ng sariling neutral wire papunta sa appliance example aircon ang neutral wire na pwedeng gamitin ay aluminum wire o copper wire na mahaba at i hang basta hindi maabot para di makakuryente... presto gumana ang aircon,. isang wire lang ang gagamitin ang live lang, kasi ang nagpapalaki daw sa bill ay pagbalik ng kuryente sa kuntador...

      update: more than half nalang ang binayaran namin sa kuryente, dating P1,600/month naging P700 nalang effective sya, ingat lang sa procedure

    Correction lang po, di po siya naging 110v. Ang AC po kasi may +220v peak above at may -220v peak below, nirectify mo siya kaya naging +220v na lang which means naging DC siya. At isa pa po hindi po voltage ang nangangalahati kapag nilagyan ng diode, ampere po. Pareview na lang ng vid sa may wattmeter. 0.15A sa walang energy saver at 0.08A na lang kapag may energy saver. Gusto lang po makatulong. Nice vid ka DIY. Keep it up. Pashoutout din po hehe.

      AC voltage is typically measured as a Root Mean Square (RMS) value, as this can be more easily translated to DC-equivalent power.
      For a sinusoidal voltage, which is what mains AC should be, the formula for calculating RMS boils down to: Vrms = Vpeak / √2. √2 being approximately equal to 1.414.
      So if we instead solve for Vpeak, we get Vpeak = Vrms * √2, so 240 * √2 ≈ 339.36.

      Let's say you power a resistor with the 340V peak AC voltage, if you calculate the RMS value of the sinusoidal voltage (A rather long integral formula) if you do the math end up getting that Vrms is Vpeak/sqrt(2).
      That is approximately the 240V you get, now let's say you power another resistor at 240V DC and you measure the power that both resistors consume. You would measure the same power across the both resistors.
      The RMS is basically the DC equivalent voltage that would make a load consume the same power. The peak voltage doesn't really tell us much in terms of power, as you are only in the 340V peak for a limited time

    Meron din. PFC device/circuitry nag se save ng power. Meron tayong inductive or capacitive load so pwede kang gumawa ng kabaliktaran ng load para maging true power vs apparent power 😃.

      alamamin po naten papano nagwowork ang diode :) tsaka po ndi dahil silicon sya babawas na ng power wattage :D e di sana lahat ng computer lahat ng cellphone at lahat ng may transistor e babawas din ng power. lahat po yan may silicon. silicon po ang base ng mga semiconductor dope lang with + and - ions.

      @@DIYPINOY most diodes are made of silicon, but other semiconducting materials such as gallium arsenide and germanium are also used. u can search it over the NET and as per may electronic class way back 1990 is concern... even up to now yan pa rin po ang gina gamit silicon diode sa mga electronic power supply ;)

      @@DIYPINOY ang function talaga ng DIODE it converts AC to DC... but sa case power saver magaling ung discovery nea hehhe... DIODE cia na Shorted un usable sa aming mga technician defective electronic parts.. yan ang cause pag laging putok ng putok ang fuse sa mga AVR, UPS... but USABLE cia sa ginawang power saver na wattage limiter ... kung shorted na ang diode pede ng gawing power limiter

    The best energy saver is to use the electrical energy wisely, wag tayong aksayado. Yearly check ng appliances lalu na aircon. Kung may pera naman, change to inverter-type ang AC at ref ninyo. Goodluck.

    i try nio i test every single diode, if u know how to use multi tester shorted ang reading nio sa analog or digital tester kea ang labas nea is conductor pa din, dadaan na cia sa silicon na cia ang nag served as wattage limiter pero 220VAC padin... hindi cia nag lo low voltage hindi rin cia DC ..... AC pa din ang output kasi nga shorted ang diode at nka parallel ang diode kea tuma taas ang wattage limiter...

      one way shorted lang ang diode, dahil may polairty po ito. eh yung ac nagpapalit po ng polarity kaya po Alternating Current sya. So effect po yun, sa half cycle lang nagcoconduct si DIODE.

      na test ko nga po ang diode nila reverse forward 0 ohms means shorted po... pag hindi shorted ang forward bias may resistance den reverse bias walang resistance ... na test ko na po yan... pag sinabing shorted ZERO ohms reverse and forward bias..

      pag shorted and diode good as conductor lang cia 0 OHMS sa reading sa tester kea wala ka ng makukuhang polarity hindi na cia DC out good as conductor.. kea alam ko kasi nag bukas kami ng isang unit order ng client ko .... 4 diode 6amps / 1000v each diode e as in SHORTED means unusable sa electronic ckt... pero useable as conductor cia at wattage limitter na test ko na din functionality nea.. nkaka bawas nga sa power wattage ang voltage nea at ease na 230VAC...

      @@DIYPINOY hindi pwedeng maging 1 way shorted ang diode... kasi sa forward bias x1 ng multitester may resistance reading sa multi tester mga 50ohms hindi shorted yan.. sa reverse bias walang reading infinity kung tawagin... walang galaw ang needle ng tester.... as in stay foot needle kahit nka range kapa sa 10K ng multitester mo...

    Ganda ng explanation at demo. Yung UPS and AVR kaya? Nakakatulong ba yang mga yan kahit papano para makatipid ng kuryente? Alam ko kung ano yung purpose ng UPS at AVR, pero napansin ko lang na yung monthly bill ko sa kuryente bumaba na from P2,300 dati, P1,770 na lang. Bumaba yung consumption ko based sa reading. Same pa rin naman yung paggamit ko everyday ng mga appliances and devices. Yung nabago lang eh nung sinimulan ko nang gamitin yung 1000VA cyberpower UPS para sa gaming laptop ko na sira na ang battery.

Hindi rin nagbago yung routine ko sa paggamit ng electrical appliances and electronic devices dito sa amin. Oobserbahan ko siguro uli kung ano ang reading sa next bill ko. Thanks!

    The real saver use big e-capacitor to stabilise the voltage. If the voltage not stable it will wasteful the power. Not much but at least save the power.

    mali mali yung explanation. Wag ka na lang siguro magpakalat ng fake news sir. Habang maaga pa tigilan mo na yan.
    FULL bridge nilagay mo so mali ang graph mo.dapat mag doble ang frequency. hindi lang mawawala ang negative cycle.
    at tsaka ang 220V ay RMS voltage kahit ilagay mo sa rectifier yan 220V pa din yan... nakalagay na nga sa meter mo eh diba 220V pa din. tapos sasabihin mo nakalahati. sus.
