Just got one today. 33inch DL. I know, I know. I’m 6’7” and the guy at my shop said I’m the second longest DL he’s seen. Love this bow already!
I had a VXR but learned that my comfortable draw length is closer to 31.5 which the VXR cannot do. Bought the Atlas and it feels amazing, finally a bow that fits me correctly. Then the V3X 33 comes out with a max draw length of 31.5 so that might be my perfect bow, but the Atlas feels so nice I don't think I'll ever sell it.
Just got one. Finally a bow for us monkey arm boys
Fr I have a 30.5 inch draw and it’s tough man
@@abrahamlincoln4160 your lucky mine is 32.5
Knuckle Draggers. 33” for me. 🦍
@@johnwaw6363 34" here lol
Fr I’m 15 with 30 in draw
I’ve been shooting the Halon X Comp at 31.5 for a while, I feel like you made this video just for me.
This will be replacing my traverse. Love the way it feels
I’m a 32” DL as well. I currently shoot two Prime CT9’s. One for target and one for 3D. There aren’t many bows for us but they’re always “Up there” in costs ($1500+) with little to no videos for us’s. Thank you for this one! I’ll try The Atlas and see how it runs. Thanks again! And more videos, PLEASE!!!
We need a head to head with the bowtech revolt xl and Hoyt high line Mathews’s atlas
Specs resemble my Mathews Halon X
I think if I try one, I’ll buy one. Dangerous
Thank brother for the video. I am the same height and draw and am looking for my next hunting bow. Buying one today, if I can find one in Australia.
Awesome, good luck!
@@GOHUNT Found the only one in stock in another state. On the way as we speak. Thanks again.
@@GOHUNT Switched all my gear onto the new Atlas and had it stacking bare shafts on fletched at 20yards within 3 shots.. AWESOME!!!! Thanks again
How did you get your vxr out to a 32 inch draw?
Those cams are huge. What is the advantage to large cams? Less likely to explode on you?
Im interested in how you got a 32” draw on the VXR? Frustrating how Mathews flagship bows are built for people with T-Rex arms..
I was interested in picking up a VXR 31.5...I'm a 31.5" draw and the local shop said that they can remove the grip (hand would be on the riser) and they would put on a bit longer D-loop to get me to a 31.5. If you look at the video his VXR D-loop is a bit longer then the one on his Atlas.
I got the atlas my draw is 33 its fits and draws so nice..
🔥🔥
Great video, and i have one question. If I shoot a bowtech at 32.5" DL should I order 32 or 32.5" in the atlas? Everyone says mathews runs a little long.
Thats great...tired of them having tall guys say their short bows are so great when they know the string angle sucked! Let's just put the peep all the way to the top..this is good
Beautiful bow. Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!
No mention of the ibo on the bow. I wonder why🤔
I’m an LD guy and currently shooting the Mathews Traverse. I’m curious to demo this bow. My only disappointment is that it couldn’t get lighter. Seems like technology has moved toward speed vs weight.
Where do you get your camo? I’m 6’6” 250 and can’t my pant size.
Bet that thing is fast! Wonder what it could do with a 5 inch brace height 🤔
where do u buy the atlas
What arrow weight are you using and what speeds are you getting at 32 inch draw?
What kind of speed are you getting out of that with your draw length at what weight?
Thinking of purchasing one for 3D. Does anyone know what speed they’re getting for 32” DL with 350 grain arrow? As Mathews do not really state what the IBO is. Only up to 350 FPS.
Thanks for the review. I shoot a really old darton 30 max my dad got me when I was 12 and I’m 43. Believe it or. It I can still shoot it just wayyyy to short and slow lol. Anyway what’s your speeds with that at 32” that’s my draw length and I have to get a new one this year any other recommended or do you have a used good one you would sell that would fit me ?? Thanks
Thanks for reaching out! Never fun shooting a bow that is too short, you’ll shoot a lot better once you upgrade. I believe it was 293 fps at my draw length with a 440.1 grain arrow with this Atlas bow. And I actually still shoot this bow to this day. Just love it so much that I haven’t switched. If you’re a true 32" draw length person, I say go with those bow 100% of the time! I have seen no reasons to shoot anything else.
I’m a 31 inch draw.. how much efficiency do you loose from the cam not being able to draw it to the full..?
with how mathews designs their mod system, you can expect to lose some of the efficiency. However, it is a much less noticable impact if you have a rotating module system like Hoyt, PSE and the new PRIME bows. if youre at 31" @ 70 pounds, this bow should give you some very solid perfomace with a heavy arrow setup
@@justinclinton1238 cheers I like to shoot adult arrows and at 640 grains at the mo.. need to get my hands on one and try her out..! Not so easy in the UK..!
@@douglasgreaves1137 May I ask why you shouot arrows that are so heavy? I have wondered what the advantages are? cheers
@@mitchimal to ensure a pass through even if you hit bone..! And at 20-30 yards there ain’t much difference in speed..!
@@douglasgreaves1137 ahh I see, thanks mate!
Finally something for us giga giants
sucks that the only bows basically on the market for us long boys are about 1600$😂 my draw length is 33inch
Haha we get that! Few of us at goHUNT have a 30"+ draw length too
thanks for the video could you get the atlas to torque tune
I love this ATA length and have a 30.5” draw length. Would I be losing much speed not being close to max possible draw length?
Yes it wouldn't be worth it, an EVL 34 would better suited a 30.5 DL
If you won’t grow anymore yes I’m 15 and have a 30.5 draw length and im sure I’ll grow more so I’m going for this bow
At a 30 inch draw would it be better to go with the V3 or atlas?
Both will be fine with a 30 inch draw! String angle on the Atlas will probably be a little bit better since it is a longer axle to axle bow, but the V3 isn't bad either. It really will come down to personal preference. The Atlas will be a bigger bow than the V3 so it depends on what you are looking for. We recommend to go visit a dealer and shoot them both.
Its huge though
How’s the hand vibration on that bow. I’m a Bowtech guy looking to upgrade my ancient Tomcat. I shot a TRIAX and absolutely loved that bow. With 3 ugly kids in club soccer, a wife that’s spends all my hard earned money, and my obsession with fly fishing. My bow money, passed the back burner and straight to the bottom drawer where old pans go to die. Does this bow come smaller, I’m only a 26.5-27 draw, so that 32 draw, is just a tad too long for me at the moment. Maybe in another life I’ll be 6’5, but for now I’ll stay at 5’9. Great video and products. If you happen to get a extra bow, send it my way. I’d be happy to take it off your hands. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
V3 27 is perfect for that draw and much lighter
What stabilizers are you running?
What's the IBO on this bow?
350 it’s a beast, I tested one yesterday and with 32” draw with 65 lb mods it was flinging a 430 grain arrow at 295. Which is crazy with that big brace height
@@thewoodshedbarber that 350 IBO is measured at 34”, not the 30” DL it should be. So realistically it’s around 310-320 IBO.
Pretty shit how they’ve not had these in lower draw lengths
great brace but lame structure looks like a target bow
Skipped the most important spec msrp.
$1349 msrp
How the hell do you hunt with all that junk hanging off your bow? I never understood the need for stabilizers like that I kill every year without that seems like it would get in the way.
