Apparently it was very "cancel culture" within Naughty Dog while creating The Last of Us 2 that about 70% of the original workforce left, not just out of crunch and pay but probably out of disgust the way the story was heading. At least I still have Ghost of Tsushima and more importantly, Cyberpunk. For me though, I lost interest when they said it was indefinitely delayed. Pretty much took it as, "this may happen, it may not happen" and just moved on.
This wasn't done for artistic purposes or to "shock" the fans. This was done for the purpose of shoving their identity politics Agenda down our throats. That is not art and it is highly dishonest to sell the fans a game that they didn't ask for, or even worse, fans that didn't want their favorite cast of characters to be ruined for this cheap identity politics stunt.
To answer something you were kinda asking: many entertainment production company environments are less open and hire people to do a specific job and stay in that lane. This doesn’t always have to be the case and some studios openly accept new ideas but with Druckmann becoming VP of Naughty Dog during production and being the lead of TLOU2 as a whole... there isn’t really anything that anyone can do... except leaking the game, which is what happened.

God of War is a great franchise but we still have masterpieces like RDR 2, the Uncharted series, most Assassin's Creed games, stuff like that

After these leaks I honestly can't stop thinking about that interview Druckmann did on a couch in front a small crowd. I think it was after its reveal in late 2016. Apparently it was very "cancel culture" within Naughty Dog while creating The Last of Us 2 that about 70% of the original workforce left, not just out of crunch and pay but probably out of disgust the way the story was heading. I think the employees weren't allowed to voice concern about the story otherwise they were called an "ist" or "phobe"

in uncharted 4 i seen where they were going when they added a female black soldier beating nathan drake and his brother alone. yeah very acurate after drake beated many stroger tall guys alone.
At least I still have Ghost of Tsushima and more importantly, Cyberpunk. For me though, I lost interest when they said it was indefinitely delayed. Pretty much took it as, "this may happen, it may not happen" and just moved on.

To answer something you were kinda asking: many entertainment production company environments are less open and hire people to do a specific job and stay in that lane. This doesn’t always have to be the case and some studios openly accept new ideas but with Druckmann becoming VP of Naughty Dog during production and being the lead of TLOU2 as a whole... there isn’t really anything that anyone can do... except leaking the game, which is what happened.

Eh I saw the leaks and I’m still buying, I won’t judge it before experiencing it. Also the game will sell well, especially if the reviews are going to be glowing that will boost it in sales, also those people (vocal minorities) who are saying they won’t or they will boycott it will end up buying it anyway.
