What's crazy is the accent Fletch puts on at about 2:06 is only a slight exaggeration of Ronnie Barker's real speaking voice. There's a clip of him surprising Richard Beckinsale on This Is Your Life where he reads a letter "from Fletch", and the way he could switch voices instantly always blows my mind :)
"Porridge"is my favourite sitcom.
It’s always fun, watching someone such as yourself watching these for the first time. I’ll laugh anyway, but someone else’s fresh laughter certainly adds to the rewatching.

"Blanco" (the aged bloke with the donkey ) was portrayed by Sir David Jason, who also portrayed "Granville" in the sitcom "Open All Hours," which also starred Ronnie Barker as his stuttering, miserly, grocery shop owner uncle "Arkwright." Sir David Jason, you will probably know best as "Del Boy" from "Only Fools And Horses" Megan. Hope you are feeling better now kiddo. X

I always thought Banyards crime was accidental, but is very serious…it’s only a tv show though so not taking it the same way. I’d continue with art if I was inside, love to create with pen and colours

Ronnie Barker was a brilliant comedy actor.
I read A Life In the year 1066. I'd have never read it outside. Would never have the time. 😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣🤣❤
The subtext of this, of course, is that male prisoners don't have privacy for certain other types of activity. But, nude pin-ups aside, you couldn't really do that on BBC1. In fact Monty Python had to literally cut a reference to 'self-pleasure' in one of their sketches even earlier than this.

David Jason, playing Blanco, is half Welsh, like you, Megan. Yes, USA has very punitive system, millions incarcerated (companies make big money out of this) and high crime, Norway much more sensible.
