I love having the definitive/official versions of some of these older shooting games from this period in this collection and Capcom's upcoming Arcade Stadium and Arcade Stadium 2
@@gigatywing3483 Probably the most current version in its current visual expression? Widely agreed to be the best performing version, surpassing previously available versions?
I had the original Tiger Heli for the NES back in the day. never could beat it. I later found out in my life that there was no FINAL LEVEL to the game, it only looped back to the start when you reached the "end."
I'm in the same boat. Just wish I had more money for all of it. Seems like anything shooter if you don't buy it when it releases it becomes to expensive quick .
Me too. I've bought Pocky and Rocky Re-shrined, Wild Gund Reloaded, all the Cave games, Battle Garegga and so on. Love em all. I truly feel like a kid in gaming heaven!
I imported the flying Shark M2 shottriggers and the console conversion were not on the PS4 disc - DLC only! Did the console versions for Twin Cobra come on the Switch cart for you?
It is a very different game. More a bullet-hell than a classic shooter. Also the music score is some bland stuff. I would recommend to the classic PC Engine rendition, just like the PCE Bomberman 94 is the GOAT outperforming Saturn Bomberman by a huge margin.
This is freaking amazing! I grew up playing Twin Cobra on the NES & absolutely loved it! Is this a Japan only release or is this also being released in the States? If it's getting a release over here then I will absolutely pick it up! Please say it's so!
The PC Engine version is indeed the best. The music is better in wavetable than in FM, and it is not that hard. It is a pain, but no masochism like the MD and Arcade versions. I also like how they made it work on 4:3. Two questions: - Does the game offer the option to hide the carnival on the left and the right, it looks super annoying. - Do you have auto-fire? On this game you need that PC Engine gamepad with 3-speed autofire slider or an equivalent. Switch joycons will be ruined if not.
Awesome! I did a comparison video (under a different profile) awhile back comparing the NES, Genesis and PC Engine versions of Kyukyoku Tiger! PC Engine is my favorite, but the NES version is pretty fun. too! th-cam.com/video/mSKbQpMkt8E/w-d-xo.html

What makes them 'definitive'?
Yeah, it's good to have these arcade conversions so easily accessible.

I feel like I get 10x more excited about re-releases than actual new games these days.
I can relate, lol

Looks awesome. I’ll be checking this one out . Thanks for the review Jim . Have a nice week and take care bud .
Thanks! Definitely pick up this collection and the follow up that has Fire Shark on it.
As a home port the FM towns marty is the business ( and super expensive ), still a good collection for switch or ps4, i have the switch version...
Thanks for posting this review, Jim. I'm definitely gonna have to get this now. Super promising port.
It's a fantastic collection, and stick around for next week's review of the follow up featuring Flying Shark and Fire Shark.
@@MadPanicGaming Hell yeah, lookin forward to it
It's not just any hell. It's TIGER Hell!
My goodness this game was impossible to play, but I really enjoyed it as a kid
I’ve had Kyukyoku Tiger 2 on the Sega Saturn on my list for such a long time.
Give us more M2 Shot Triggers games M2!!! Maybe a Aleste Collection Part 2 with Space Megaforce and all the side Aleste games even the cell phone ones
I'm personally waiting for Truxton, Zero Wing, and Batsugun.
The left side of the screen feel a little to clutered. But the map is super cool. Really a great idea
The map should have been a 2m long poster in the package, not on screen.
Truxton is my fav shmup of all time. Hope we will see it soon on consoles
It sure is Jim. WOW! What a game for sure. 8^)
Anthony..
Cool game Jim old school game🆒👍
I can't wait for them to get to truxton/ tatsujin! It'll have to come with the second game which will be cool to finally see on consoles.
Same here, can't wait. Maybe Truxton and Zero Wing?
Just how did you get this compilation? It never came out in the US.
I live in Japan, bought it on Japanese Amazon

Yes
Was that updated soundtrack you played very first in this video included in the game? Or where did you get that may I ask? It sounds awesome! 👍
i can't decide if the added UI on the sides is too much or too awesome!
Dude.... That Stage 1 Twin Cobra rendition at the beginning of the vid, where is that from?? I HAVE to find that!!!
Isn't the port from Saturn on there? I like that one most.

The display is to narrow, can we make it wider through the setting?????

Does this have english on the cartridge?
No, but all of the options are pretty self explanatory.
This is sadly not on the australian estore :(
My only complaint is that some content is download only.
That is quite serious. Would be a deal breaker. What part is download only?
Great game. A bit pricey tho 😄😄😄
Really? It looks like $44 on Amazon right now, not bad at all.
@@MadPanicGaming Doh. It was about $60 on release date.
KT on the PCE, loose Hucard can be found for 15 bucks. All you need.
