To give you some insight to this song, the bass player of Motely Crue Nikki Sixx, died from a heroine overdose. He was dead for about a minute or two. The paramedics were able to bring him back to life by literally kick starting his heart! They all had alcohol and drug addictions so this song is pretty much about that.
It's also about adrenaline rush that will get your heart pumping fast, like skydiving, race car driving and other things you saw in the video.
P/S I've been a HUGE fan of Motley Crue since they first came out in 1981
I was 16 years old when this song came out and drove a 71 Firebird and listening to this song while driving was very dangerous for me! My foot just automatically pushed down on the gas pedal when this song came on. This tour was the first time I saw Motley Crue in concert.

They were my favourite band for many years. In 1985, when I was 14 years old, I somehow talked my mom into letting me go to a city two hours away, including a ferry ride, to go to their concert by myself. That was the first concert I ever saw and I thought it was amazing. To this day I don’t know how I managed to talk her into letting me go! Haha! Over the years I saw them in concert ten times. They were always a lot of fun.
I was a few years older than you when I saw the Crue open for Ozzy on The Bark At The Moon tour. Depicted in The Dirt film. I WAS SO F HIGH LOL I choked on the stage smoke being as I was against the barrier lol
@@jamiefredrickson2560 The first exposure to them that I had was when the video for Looks That Kill was released. I thought that was so cool, and that album and the first one quickly became faves of mine. I really wanted to go to that tour, too, but none of the older people around me wanted to go and take me along. And bring only 12 I was at their mercy, haha. So I had to wait, and lucked out for the next tour. Hehe
I'm seeing them this year at Wembley stadium. Can't wait.
Lol. I was 15 when I talked (somehow) my parents into letting me drive with a friend from the S.F. Bay Area to Southern California for the US festival in 83 to see the crue! Best times ever!!!!

Officially, this song is about things that give you an adrenaline rush, "skydive naked from an aeroplane", auto racing, etc.
Unofficially, it's about one of their band members dying on an elevator and had to be shocked back to life.✌️
Honey, they didn’t shock him back to life, the EMT was a fan and went straight into Nikki’s heart with a syringe full of epinephrine. Just jab straight in between the third and fourth intercostal space if I remember correctly.

when it came out i put the cd in my then cd alarm clock and when the alarm went off it played that song. one time i was in a big hurry, and this song came on i hit the gas pedal on my car, and when i had to slow down i was going over 120 mph.

This was 80/90's metal and it was real music not like we have today. All you need to know. It pumps men up with energy and sexually does things to women. It gets the juices flowing.
This band's bassist Nikki Sixx once had overdose of heroin. Drug dealer tried to save him first but when he couldn’t, he threw Nikki to sewer. After sometime an ambulance was passing and ambulance staff saw Nikki. One of them recognised him and took him into ambulance. His heartbeat was stoped for two minutes and an ambulance staff injected two adrenaline shots. Then Nikki Woke up. After that incident, Nikki Sixx Wrote the song "Kickstart My Heart".
Today, Nikki Sixx is 22 years sober.
The drummer (Tommy Lee) once had his drums mounted in a cage that could be rotated 360 degrees while he played (he was strapped in).

That red, white and blue speed boat that almost did a nose dive was a Cigarette 66. The first boat to go more than 150 mph on the water. Sadly, sometime in the 80s, another speed boat named Miss Budweiser tried to break the record. The boat hit a tiny ripple in the water at the wrong angle, went airborne, crashed back down and burst apart. The driver was killed.
