    Hello my Bearded Brother. I heard you say Rosemary Essential Oil. Rosemary can strip the color out of a color treated beard. You have to keep that in mind when using Rosemary. I use Rosemary to lighten the color of my beard if the color I used to dye it turned out a little to dark. I add the Rosemary to my conditioner and let it sit for about 15min. and rinse. I do this every day and with in about 3 days I have lighten my colored beard to the color I originally wanted.

    4 oz. Jojoba and about 10-15 drops eucalyptus essential oil. Smells great, refreshing, antifungal, soothes any possible irritated skin, lasts forever.

      Yeah definitely, I've tried one or two of them already, but had some trouble working with coconut oil in the winter, as you might imagine. I could actually feel it solidifying in my beard when I walked outside, so I switched to a sweet almond oil carrier. Right now I'm using a balm from Grave Before Shave that my friend picked up for me as a gift, so I might try my hand at making one of the balm recipes.

    I used to shake my essential oil bottles also. However, If you hold the essential oil bottle with the restricter valve upside down and wait for a bit, individual drops will dispense and you don't absolutely need a pipette. If you need more than x amount of drops--like a tsp--you can pop the restrictor valve off.

    I know this video is a few years old, but I wanted to point something out I did not see you mention in this video or in your links above. The essential oils you choose to put in the carrier must be SKIN SAFE!!!! There are many other essential oils out there that smell the same, however are used for diffusers and aromatherapy and not designed for contact with human skin. The can be very irrating, can cause rashes and can eve burn upon contact. Some are worse when exposed to sun light. Please ensure that the essential oils you use are skin safe oils.

    Great video. Definitely look online at places like Amazon or other discount retailers for essential oils at discounted prices.
    You want to make sure you get one that is pure oil with no fillers. You may have to read the labels because they can look like the real thing when they aren't.
    Places like TJ Maxx (in Columbus Circle, if in NYC) has all kinds of essential oils. Again, make sure to read the ingredients to see that you are getting the real thing.

    serious question. I only grow peach fuzz on my cheeks and sideburns. My father has a really nice thick beard and has had one since he was like 18. I'm hoping my lack of beard is due to dry skin (I take some pretty hot showers). Will applying beard oil help my skin to grow out a beard if one is possible? If so how often should I apply it? Please respond.... I really want to be able to grow a manly beard like my father.

    • @ToolsofMen

    • @ToolsofMen

      They are extremely similar. Usually a pre shave oil will use castor oil as its primary carrier oil. In addition pre shave oils tend to have a slightly lighter scent.

    • @abomb9299
      @abomb9299 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do. Different carrier oils have different beniefits as well as some some slight scent to them as well (vitamin e oil). Remember the carrier oils are giving your beard the nourishment and moisture your beards craving. Argan oil and marula oil are great for adding a softness, while something like castor oil is thicker but adds a great coverage to moisturize the beard. Essential oils, while the do have some beniefits, are really just for smells. That's why there used in things like aroma therapy. Have fun

      Hi Bob - I have been meaning to respond to you on the Facebook question as well - greatly apologize on the delay! I have a little bit of grey underneath my jaw on both left and right sides - but haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary when applying beard oil. For wild hairs I would recommend perhaps a balm since it contains a bit of beeswax in the solution. Regarding breaking, I am not 100% sure to recommend - perhaps a solution with Vitamin E may be able to help provide some strengthening to your beard follicles.
