Jamie, I met you in Boulder, Colorado...your career would have been great no matter how you got there. But, it seems consistent with how you were when I met you for you to be gracious. Had a blast watching you and Jean-Luc smiling and laughing while playing those complex runs together. It was magical. You're awesome, Jamie! Fell in love with a gal in 1984 while barely hearing this song on some local Seattle video of sped-up views of my city. TWO years later, discovered it was JLP! Been a fan of his ever since. This is the first vid I've ever seen of him performing this incredibly beautiful song as a fusion piece. :)

About 10 years later I was listening to CD 101.9 from New York and heard Jean Luc Ponty's name first associated with the piece. I eventually was able to get the CD with this on it. It's one of my favorite works.

Oh god, this bongo or whatever is the name of that percussionista instrument has a serious issue of tuning with this particular song. It causes an awful dissonance in the begining. Too bad, such a great team, a great song
