Tasting OSWAs People's Choice - BEST WORLD WHISKY for the first time | Redbreast 12 Cask Strength

- One of the best aspects of the Online Scotch Whisky Awards is the People's Choice component. This is where the public get to have their say outside the nominations for a specific category.
Given the free-form nature of this, you might argue that the people's choice is the true winner as this is the whisky the most people chose.
Is it better than the Official Best World Whisky category winner - Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof?
Today I taste this Irish whiskey for the first time and let you know my thoughts.

YES! Just from the intro...you go! How can this be on your shelf for years and you not open it? Come on Wade! Cheers!
Haha I know, I am ashamed of myself 😔
I agree with Peter
@@troyconnolly907 I think it was mainly because I wasn't impressed with the standard 12 that it fell off my radar. I now know better 🥃
You should definitely get the 15. I’m looking out for their limited release Missouri Oak and hoping it’s not highly priced
I liked the 15 over the standard 12, but this CS 12 is better than the 15 again I think. They make some lovely whiskey!
Pound for pound one of the best Irish whiskeys on the market.
Solid isn't it!
I had the same with the 12 y, it was nice enough but it didn't impress me much; seeing this video I have to try the cask strength now 🥃
World's apart between the 12 and the 12 CS, considering there is a 17%+ increase in ABV it is night and day difference
Hey wade!!!! I loved the redbreast 12 was fantastic!!!! Can only imagine Cask Strength!!!!!
Sounded like all the Flavs I love in a whiskey!!!! Always comment and like!!!!👍🏻
This one is a winner for sure! Appreciate the support my friend 🙌
I’ve only tried Redbreast during this year’s WhiskyLive in Perth. Found them to be very good, even with the lower ABV.
I liked the 15, but was so so on the 12, but this one I can get down with!
@@McIntyresMalts I’ve not ventured much into Irish whiskey, so need to broaden my horizons there: but I am hoping to do the same with Aussie whiskies and distillers since arriving earlier this year.
@@IainBruce83 Welcome my friend! Where in Aus are you located now?
@@McIntyresMalts cheers Wade. I’m located North of Perth.
@@IainBruce83 Ah, I'm on the other side of the Country. How is the whisky scene over there?
Let me know if you need any recommendations or guidance on Aussie whisky 😉
Caramel color and flavor added
Flavour added?
For me it's impossible to have an unopened whisky on my shelve for 2 days 😅
haha the desire to open all my bottles is only beaten by the desire to not have all my bottles go flat before I can drink them at their best 😉
Irish always do it the best
They did no wrong on this one that's for sure!
Cheers Sam 🥃
