Thank you for making this video. All the "trusted" youtubers for these things all just give it glowing reviews like the K1 Max that I bought that's been a massive pain.
I learned early on with the CR-6 SE that early adopters of Creality are beta testers. Sad for a printer of this price but that’s Creality. I waited to buy an K1C and it’s been trouble free thanks to all the people who beta tested the K1 and K1Max 😂 Same for my Bambu X1C, to a lesser extent, it has benefitted from all the work early adopters have put in. Chinese companies do this for some reason. Thank you for confirming they are doing as expected and to wait 6 months to see if they work out issues and fix production mistakes.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience so far.. genuinely looks like one that didn't go through proper QA or took an impact during shipping because that number of out of the box issues is wild. I did have a belt motor issue when I got mine but after following the error code recommendation on how to recalibrate it at least ( so far ) it has been pretty solid. I also appreciate that others that just complain you actually backed yours up with that error history. I still have some confidence that Creality is going to get their sh-t together but it does seem like this could of done with another 4-6 months of testing and developing particularly the software for filament profiles etc. so might be a bumpy road getting there.
I vowed to never get another creality…. The influencer reviews had me questioning that idea…. Thanks for confirming I should hold to my original idea!!! I’ll wait for the bigger Bambu…..
Put the printer on the floor redo input shaping and levelling then in creality print where you choose nozzles top right set z height there ...for some reason k2 resets z axis to 0 on every print so it's to close to bed I set my z height to 0.025......yours may be different
They might be using a different Z-offset in the ABS profile and squishing more on the build plate to achieve better adhesion. I suggest using Orca Slicer and also it's a big difference between the normal bed mesh vs bed mesh when heat soaking for ABS .
this is why I never buy V1 of any new printer - because of the bugs and issues you'll deal with. - bambulab has been out for years and all the bugs have been sorted out - I've gotten over 10,000 hrs on my bambu x1c without problems. - of course nozzle changes but that is it.
Haha , this is a CNC mashine , so for this price you can expect exactly this Caine of mashine ! Everybody who’s thinking ( or listening other super reviews of this caine of ” industrial printers ” ) ar horrible wrong ! It’s just a hobby grade , a typical chines mashine. Nothing more guys .
Why can't you send it back and get a new one? My bambu P1S came with faulty carbon rods, which caused errors and circles to be oval. I just contacted support, and they said I can replace the rods myself or get a new printer. I went with a new printer as changing the rods is like a two day job.
Thanks for a video. After pains that i had with K1max i will never buy anything from creality. I returned it and that is something that I recommend to you.
The fan on the side is your hotend cooling fan if that's not working properly your probably getting a lot of heat creep. I use creality profile for ABS to start off and tweek it the generic ABS is garbage I also turn off the part cooling fan all the way. Looks like your offset still needs to be adjusted some for your first layer.
That's a bummer. Was hoping Creality had finally gotten their act together with this one. Rushing out hardware and using their users as beta testers and poor production QA just seems to be ingrained as part of their corporate culture at this point.
I still have about 4 creality printers and honestly had some hope for this one but I’m gonna just stick to my guns and never buy another creality printer. I don’t even recommend them anymore. Yes they may be improving somethings “but” it’s still a tinkerers toy. It still isn’t something that is what I would recommend to someone brand new to printing because many will just get a headache and give up. Not everyone enjoys fixing and printing. I feel if someone wants to start out printing just go bambu. After creality and building a few Voron printers to start out just try a bambu and if you want to tinker build one.
I got the Creality Sermoon D1 years ago, fixed all the issues by replacing all the electronics and basically all the wiring. It was making my lights flicker, maybe a short in one of the motors. Now i'm just using the frame and hardware. Replaced all stepper motors and mounted a HGX extruder with a standard (but modded) Volcano hot end with a 5015 blower on a custom designed duct/mount. I also have the klipper pad for it. Basically it's a whole new printer. Like buying a car and taking everything out except the suspension and driveshaft. No seats, no electronics, no engine, etc and remaking it like my own. The K2 seems like an amazing printer, but that sucks there dropping the ball on a possible winner of a product.
Wow, I feel sorry for you. Sounds like you got a lemon. I know I have been having problems with the nozzle clogging with PETG on mine, but I think that might just be a user error. I have tried Creality HR-ASA, and it has printed beautifully every single time. One could argue it looks better than PLA. I also ran a clearance test, and it turns out it is more accurate with ASA. I will soon test out some polymaker ASA, but so far I love this printer for ASA. That is why I got this printer, to print ASA and TPU. I will have videos up on my YT soon. One thing I wish this printer had is HEPA filters because ABS/ASA are toxic and smell horrible. Also, it has a pretty poor implementation of carbon filters. Btw, what filament are you printing with? Like brand and things?
PETG settings in creality slicer wont give you a nice print. You need to create your own, and do a flow rate test or use the automated settings for flow. Then it prints beautifully. The bed temp, nozzle temp, flow rate, and fan settings ALL need to be changed to your particular flavor of filament, even crealitys own brand. PETG doesnt like fans.
@@rcandlegos Yes, its the menu by clicking the creality logo in the slicer ( top left corner green logo, next to file). They do encourage you to do these tests to find what works for you and provide guidance in their page.
I was thinking about one of these large bed core XY models, but decided to wait for the market to shake out and updates to hit. I've seen a lot of early positive reviews of this model, so many that it is suspicious.
How can we tell the bed is crooked when you are moving a camera without any level or ruler for reference? You never said anything about how your prints are decent enough now. The bed might be warped a little, and it does bend because its hot and cold, but I don't see that affecting your prints (it shouldn't).
Some issues I can *kinda* overlook, like loose wiring. Some would argue that they should be glued in place or something similar, but I disagree because if/when something does need to be replaced, a glued connector can lead to bigger issues down the road. Also, some shippers/people are.....should we say, less then gentle when handling them. I had purchased 2 of these printers, and one of them was UPSIDE DOWN in the delivery van! The worst experience I had so far with mine was one arrived with the bottom hinge unglued and after about a week was able to get a replacement door sent out to me. Another issue was color bleed on multi-color prints. I was pulling out (what is left of) my hair tiring to figure it out. Purge volume and purge block changes did nothing. Come to find out, it was the brand of filament I was using (sunlu). Finally, yes the CFS is kinda loud, but I have noticed that the brand/type of spool you use in it makes a difference. I had ordered some sunlu filament and the rolls would not fit in the CFS so I designed and printed my own spools and they were kinda loud but bearable but the creality spools, in the same CFS were much quieter, but overall still a bit noisy. Overall I am happy with my printers but I do agree that their QA department needs work.
It also sound like the config is missing some commands. 😢 I’m sure Creality ask you to do a hard reinstall of the operating system. I’m still working through a belt tensioning error but at this point I suspect something is just wrong with the sensor on Y because the wiki tension test for it is just throwing errors. And no amount of manual belt tension at quarter turns is clearing it Y and I have gone both directions. 😂 I can still print with the machine though after manual tuning. Also an CFS error where it doesn’t read the first slot on re start and have to manually retest the tag. 🤔 The lack of filament profiles is going to take a lot of testing but I was at least aware of that with the new eco systems this would get updateing/ personal testing. Thank you on the abs info.
Wow, must have got a lemon... Or as mentioned all the influencers got the triple checked ones, I know my qidi plus 4 had the problem with the SSR board (was simple and free to replace) but other than that it's been flawless, but I hear stories about people having problems with their plus 4 also...
It looks like your load cell might be broken. Unfortunate but easily fixable. The ABS problem is very likely in the software profile. Did you check what is different between your new ABS profile and the generic one ? I think creality print turns the heater on, you should turn it off for the first layer. To check the bed you need to run a bed mesh and see the deviations.
All the issues may have a similar root cause. You mentioned the errors about a loose connection. It's possible that there's an intermittent electrical connection problem that could affect the homing issue you saw, and the hot end fan too. Unplugging the connections and looking for damaged connectors or debris might be a good troubleshooting step if you can be bothered to. The ABS issue has been mentioned by some other TH-camrs, and supposedly there's a g-code fix that adjusts the Z-offset when printing ABS. You're well within your consumer rights to ask for a replacement machine or a refund as the machine is not suitable for purpose. Edit: I cancelled my order as I found out how loud the CFS was when handling filaments, and all the early life issues that people were seeing.
Creality is just so so, always have been, always will be. Just not polished, copy others, steal IP, now they have taken as much from the industry and put it out at a high price point.. just to have people have to “muh tinkering” of years ago and fix it, continue to fix it and when it is “okay” you can sorta print. Creality won’t chance unless the ethos of the company changes. TLDR: Creality is what Creality has always been.. just so so, now they want top dollar for their so so machines.
Buy a QIDI PLUS4!!! The Creality K2 Plus looks like a QIDI PLUS4 ripoff. The PLUS4 has worked out their initial issues and now prints like a beautiful dream.
Sadly, it does not work well for ABS, I'll be following along, I was planning to buy one K2 Plus just to print ABS, but as of now, it looks like Bambu X1C would be a better choice
you're not the only one, lots of issues with wires on motors not being plugged in properly, sometimes auto belt tensions wont work, feet come in broken off, door hinges seperated from glass ect.. lots and lots of problems from most of the actual 'review' videos I see.

I bought a creality ender 3 v3 back in August. I worked on it 66% of the time and still had many failed prints. Bought a Bambu A1 in September and it prints without issue or failure 99% of the time. I have almost 450 hours on it and I’ve had 2 clogs with silk PLA, that’s it.

as a owner of several creality printers, i can tell right off the bat that the problem lies with you. you made the mistake of buying creality.
