@@Jackie_360 that’s my creole dialect from Cape Verde 🇨🇻 and Guinea-Bissau 🇬🇼 which share the same creole with only slight variations in certain words but still understandable. Yes, Hola como estas in Spanish is practically the same in Portuguese which we say, Hola como estás and in creole we say Olá or Oi ku’mo bu sta. ☺️ Cape Verde & Guinea-Bissau used to be one until we split shortly after independence in 1975 due to political differences.
@@Jackie_360 my native creole comes from the many different west African native tongues, Portuguese, Spanish and some other European languages sprinkled in it due to our position in the Atlantic Ocean. Historically Cape Verde 🇨🇻 was utilized in the triangle trade (slave trade) many years before the Americas was “” discovered “”. There are tons of informative and documentaries on TH-cam about Cape Verde. Just type ‘the history of the Cape Verde islands’ and you’ll come across a lot of information. If you like music look up Cesaria Evora, Bana Cabo Verde, Mayra Andrade, Bulimundu, Finasson, batuku /Batuke, tabanka style music, and many other artists that could give you an insight on what my culture is about. There’s a documentary called ‘some kind of funny Porto-Rican’ which will give you even more info on my heritage. We were the first African descendants to migrate on our own free will to the United States to work as whalers and later on as seasonal workers in the cranberry bogs in Wareham, MA and other agricultural work here in the USA. Unfortunately colorism created issues with us being recognized and appreciated by the African Americans but it’s finally changing now since our independence which helped us gain an sense of identity because, if we went to Europe we were considered negros, but when we went to the mainland African continent due to our lighter shade we were not fully embraced by the African natives and they would call us “fidjus brankus” which means white offsprings. That created major confusion in our abilities to feel like we belonged. There’s a lot to my history but thank God, things are changing for the better. Hope all this helps a bit and I apologize for this loooooong reply lol 😂
