The punishment can include imprisonment for up to ten years, in addition to a fine.

Faye D Souza needs to understand that she can talk for such men without talking about the problems on the other side, just like how talking about feminism is important after a rape case and it should not invite talks about “men’s rights”. I am just a lay person. about dowry law, When I was a kid, everyday there were multiple dowry death news in newspapers. But it's reduced now, how? due to law. One man committed suicide. There will be investigation. Everyone jumping into conclusion that he is victim,law is wrong. Feminism is culprit. Women are still vulnerable . This law is supposed to protect vulnerable women, in their in law's house. It's necessary. Nobody going to save a woman in their inlaw's house,if they have wrong intention. Everywhere now men showing their intolerant side due to this incident. Laws has been misused. People have been deprived of basic human rights in the name of law. However, everyone else on the panel seemed to only provide their personal views without having done any research to talk to a judge or a senior lawyer with expertise in handling 498A cases. I kindly request you to invite Deepika Narayan Bharadwaj onto your panel who has been fighting for men accused with false cases and busting such rackets. It's a much wider problem that you made it out to be. It was disappointing that you chose to make a comparison with PMLA to trivialize this important issue.

It is this frustration of being treated as secondary for years that comes out in slapping what, to most people, would appear false cases. Mental discrimination in a marriage is difficult to prove because it is what the woman thinks but the man does not!
