Rafting up in the Bahamas

- We sailed our Neel 43 trimaran from Georgetown in the exumas up the island chan and found a really cool spot to raft up 3 boats and spent the evening together in the beautiful water. We had a Neel 43, a Neel 47 and a Beneteau Sense 50. The water was calm and the sunset was beautiful!

Our travel group of 11 was there just after y’all left. We found the flies were miserable especially at the yacht club restaurant. We stayed 40 minutes south of Georgetown down the Queens Highway. Mosquitos made it unbearable at dark. We had a great time and found the water absolutely beautiful. Would not return due to flies and mosquitos. Happy sailing.

For a while now and enjoy very much. I finally read your bio and
Your stroke and all and it’s a real inspiration to know that you courageously soldiered on and reinvented yourself. I’m gonna be retiring in the next 20 months and am at that place trying to figure out what to do and although financially there is a little worry I’m more concerned about finding a passion for something interesting to do. Every time I watch you and the girls I can’t help but think about my closest buddy that was an avid boater and fisher who I spent much wonderful times on his beautiful boat. He was tragically killed two years ago and I really miss those days. Anyways you are a brave soul and tons of respect for you. God bless.

I was talking to a statistic guy one time and gave him a scenario. He came up with the answer quickly. I then told him what number was not considered and then when that was considered it totally changed the answer. Correct answers are only based on the inputs and when someone doesn't consider a different input then the correct answer is not achieved. Kind of like polls. They are based on how you ask the question. Good luck on the class.

For my day job I apply 6sigma lean practice for process improvement and the statistics relative to this are pretty involved. We track every metric of our operations both qualitative and quantitative. The best advice I can give you when it comes to wrapping your head around data from statistics is to RUN.

Steph you will kill statistics. Once you get into it it's like a light bulb goes on. Its math based and once you learn the terms it is much easier. Fun trip and beautiful boats.
Mono hulls typically carrying 1/3 of their weight in ballast, has anyone converted one into a trihull? Remove the ballast, shave off the bottom and add a couple outriggers, done!!!!! 80 footer would allow for outrigger berths, plus you could do a full saloon on the main deck.
How is the boat build getting on?
Unless you're at a SUPERBOWL and dating someone that you're about to write a song about!... lol

Hey Steph, In statistics setup your data sets or samples for the problems you have ... and apply the formulas everything else can make it easy but confusing and learn to use the formals. cheers

I'm a retired clinical social worker. We are statistics-challenged as a rule. And tons of other professionals are too. But it's basic these days. Hang in the there. A day at a time, just get through it. Once you're done with the school, future professional use of it can be done with lots of tech "cheat sheets."

Mode Mean Median Pos/Neg Spurious Control Factors, Chi square, Z, T, anova, binomial, one sample medians. On top of all this you should check for peer reviewed documented studies on anything remotely similar to what it is you are researching especially if you plan on publishing. Lastly, try never to marry yourself to any preconceived notion and be really careful with any surveys you are forced to do yourself. If it is a class I believe they probably will force you to use SPSS software numbers so they can check your work. Good luck Stephanie.

I'm ok with statistics but also a horrible teacher so I don't think I would be much help. When I needed to learn statistics I used Kahn academy because I find it the easiest way for me to learn plus it is free and I just really like it.
