i have a 97 Rav4 4x4 automatic transmission want to do the 3sge swap in mine, would you be able to tell me what ecu and transmission control unit you are running on this beast!
@@KiwiCarLife that's seems like the plan just mainly wondering what are the common cars these came in. I'm moving from GM stuff to Toyota and the learning curve is there lol
@@KiwiCarLife oh wow i didn't know that the stock ecu for the 3sfe stock engine could run a 3sge engine, considering that the 3sge has much higher compression ratio and the fueling requirements and ignition system would also be different. The reason I'm asking is I'm doing the same swap but with a red top beams in a 4 door 1st gen RAV4 and I really want to keep the autobox, I kinda like it plus rowing threw gears in traffic really sucks so I want stick with the automatic transmission what this guy did with this blue rav4 is exactly what I want in mine.. I'm also planning to have my 3sfe automatic swapped for just a GE and keep it auto, and honestly I'm quite confused with the ECU thing, as I read in another forum that one would need a GE and ECU as same generation. Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
4wd and 2gr is a bit of a problem. The transfer case gets in the way of the exhaust right up by the header mounting. It's probably not impossible but would be a huge issue
Once I put the 3SGTE in it you'll have to come back and compare lol 😂

Rav got a better 4wd system and is lighter. But the crv has a better engine and is much more comfortable and liveable
What did you do about the wiring loom etc I’m looking at one from altessa but not sure if you can just use the altessa loom? Any advice appreciated
@@mrknight8073 I believe he just used the caldina wiring loom, got it from a donor car. I’m not really sure though as it’s not mine
