After thinking about it for a couple of years, I finally ordered one. I am NO fan of P-Basses, but this one is FAR better than any of the "real" Fender P-Basses I have tried, and I have tried quite a few. More recently, I gave Fender another chance and ordered a fretless Tony Franklin ($2200). The neck is unbelievable, a terrific fretless, but the tone? Meh, at best. I did an A/B comparison and the Profile (at about 1/3 the price) sounded so much better that it was unbelievable. I returned the TF for a full refund. If there is one thing I know for sure, I will NEVER sell my Profile. I play fretless more than fretted btw. Still, when I need that P-Bass tone, nothing sounds as good as that Profile. Definitely a keeper (I've been playing bass for over 50 years). To sweeten the deal, not that it was necessary, the Bass Centre threw in an autographed copy of Bruce's excellent book, Rough Notes and Grainy Images. A great read from an excellent author as well as bass player. I'd been playing bass for about a decade when I saw EC and the Attractions in person at Davis CA (which Bruce refers to in the book, to my surprise). Other than the great John Entwistle, I had never seen a player with such command of the fretboard. They would never have been as great a band as they were without Bruce Thomas. After seeing him, I absolutely wore out my copy of This Year's Model and learned so much from dissecting his lines. It says a lot that Bruce Thomas didn't just go and create a signature model for the money. He actually plays one of these. It says a lot for someone's character that he didn't want to charge an arm and a leg, but made sure the bass was affordable by a majority of players. Trust me, it's worth every penny! Thank you Bruce, and thank you to the fine folks at The Bass Centre. Also, this was one great demo of this outstanding bass.
Thank you for the comment! They are great instruments in all respects and very well put together. A whole lot of bass for the price, without a doubt! All the best!
Yep, I did enjoy the demo, and all the more given that the very bass you were playing is sat next to me right now, haha. After you returned it to Bass Direct a set of flats were put on it and it winged its way to me. It looks gorgeous, plays like butter and sounds amazing...! :-)

@@BrooksysBassCorner Looking forward to it, bud.
I bet that bass would sound great strung with flatwound strings!
Thanks for the comment! You're right, yes it would. And the new owner has done exactly that. Cheers!
I'm reliably informed they do.
Good to hear. Thanks for the comment, BT!
Fat sound. BT is one my favorites and I am stoked to learn he has a signature stick.
Thanks for the comment! Yes, it's a quite splendid P-clone for the price. Cheers!
