And I kept asking my mom for them bc I remembered loving them, but I'd be disappointed every time. It wasn't until I went back to India for a visit that I realized how sad the US mangoes are.

I used to have a mango tree in our backyard in Lahore and it was as dope as it sounds. Every spring and summer we would harvest. The first batch of unripened mangoes would go toward mango chutneys which would be preserved year round. Later we would obviously eat and share the ripened mangoes and any surplus we had we would freeze to be used for milkshakes and lassi in the autumn and winter. It was the best. I live in Australia now and boy do I miss the mangoes from back home. I think every indian/Pakistani relates this mango obsession
