I’m so proud of John Mulaney overcoming his greatest fear: 13 year olds

Yeah, he's fanboying and I would not blame him. John is just awesome.
true..all that time Hassan had Hearts in his eyes😂😂
"Don't try to act too young."
This is John Mulaney. He's never been young. At 10 he was a middle aged man listening to jazz reading the Times.
He was actually a middle aged woman

Chinese American tiger mom. What the hell are you guys talking about, John’s obviously Chinese. Just listen to his voice.
and yet he looks like a terrible tall child
He actually was listening to black jazz.
You know what I love? You can tell by his reaction that John Mulaney had no idea the question about "why were you carrying your dog like that" was coming which means he really, on the spot, made up an entirely new three minute stand up routine about walking his dog. This is why he's one of the best storytellers alive
yes! I really hope to see that bit in whatever new standup special he's gonna do next.
I think it is more of a "stand-up for interviews" thing that a lot of comedians do, I've seen him talk about his wife pushing their dog in a stroller before and used some similar lines
He does that a lot actually. Every interview amazes me
Or... He just told a story, and John as a writer/performer is great at telling a story, and you just now got to see it in real time for the first time. Meet more interesting people.
Oh also: All the questions are pre-screened with the guests. that's why it was written down. John Okayed that question. Welcome to show biz.

Wow Hasan was so polite in this, it's clear he looks up to John so much and was a little awkward and shy. Nothing like he is with other guests, he's usually in control and he knows that it's his show so he can be confident but in this he seemed to tense up a little and let Mulaney kinda run it, but Mulaney was also a little shy and nervous for going impromptu. I still really loved this, it was so authentic and adorable!

@@sarasteinberg2905 Well its not so much that, but smart people lives intersect. His dad is a partner at Skadden which is a top corporate law firm, a target employer for many top lawyers. Well I dont think thats a generational thing 2 be honest. Like I dont think kids who were mean or cruel wouldve been chosen 2 participate in that kind of stuff. Also when ur a kid growing up in a very diverse and liberal area you tend to be a lot more open and empathetic towards others because that is whats taught. That's how it was 4 me growing up in the 90s in the princeton area with all kinds of indians and asians at my school. We had a very diverse community. Shout out to central NJ kid at the end there!! He was 18 so technically not a kid but hey. And if u dont believe me lemme tell a quick story. In 6th grade this 1 guy in class said I was going to hell cuz im Jewish and ofcourse I was super upset about it (plus this dick was ALWAYS picking on me 4 literally anything including the size of my juice boxes & how pale I was) and we had a whole class/teacher formal meeting about it where everyone had to learn it wasnt ok to say things like that even if it was taught in your religion & that religion is beliefs, it doesnt mean any of them are true or correct & most churches dont take every word of the Bible literally anymore anyway and we have to respect eachothers feelings etc. There were other incidents where people were mean and our school did not tolerate it. Meanwhile in other states or areas there were and are insane things going on like gay bashing and rampant bullying and it's basically totally tolerated there or was when I was a kid so I think while we continue 2 make progress as a society on our maturity and empathy etc, where u live and the politics, religion and diversity around that play a big part.

I haven't heard of most of them, but I don't live in the US either so 😅
John was funny, but honestly I don't think he gave very accurate impressions. Like he's not exactly _wrong_ about Stevie Nicks, but given what he said, you're still not going to understand 80% of references to her. Like yeah, frustrated mom playing her music in the car is true. Weirdo sorceress vibe is true. But from his account you wouldn't know that she was a legit rock star first. Cover of Rolling Stone multiple times legit. To '60s and '70s kids, she's someone who is cool and who it's cool to like.
Most of his other answers are similarly one-faceted accounts. Funny though.
Jennifer Vasquez. You know, that's actually a bit fucked up on your part. What...do you speak English with a heavy accent as well? It's really dumb that you grew up in such a cultural bubble. You should rage at your parents for their neglect to assimilate you into the America that surrounded you. Most American pop culture figures are well-known internationally as well. This would also go beyond the anglosphere.
Let's just have a show that's 30 minutes per episode of John explaining outdated/adult concepts to Abeer.
That little boy seems so surprised by his own questions when he asks them lol
That's because they're not his own questions. Hasan Minhaj is too unrelaxed on this episode to not script everything.
Look at our boys, listening to Tan's advice.
Joy Roy I’m so proud of them
Hasan is so quiet and still, it's almost worrying. He must really look up to John Mulaney.
it's weird to see an interview occur while both people are standing
Hasan and John are my last two braincells trying to figure out how to get through life
I swear I saw this 5 years ago.
Or maybe last week. 2020 is weird like that.
same lol
I love that he calls the dog by name but the wife is "a wife" lmao
Because “wife” has some kick ass to it
Wife doesn't want to be a public figure, probably. Dogs are always down for attention.
“Tons of people were Jewish.” -John Mulaney, 2019.
Is Mulaney where Drew Gooden gets his comedic inspiration? They literally have the same voice/cadence to their punchlines, if I didn't see his face I would easily confuse the two....
Hawa Rahman Drew has said he looks up to John Mulaney before in videos, so yes I suppose
Katie F. Oh I have never seen him say that, but thanks! I would’ve never known, but it makes sense..
i love drew ^•^
Dude I actually got confused between drew and john a lot damn.
I was just watching Drew Gooden before this and I’ve always thought that
John Mulaney making hosts slightly uncomfortable is one of my favorite pastimes
Mulaney's knowledge of certain aspect of pop culture proves that he's a recent immortal.
Tan is in the back crying bc of how good their outfits look.
John Mulaney is America’s sweetheart.
i could watch an entire hour long daily show of john mulaney just explaining pop culture things.
Mulaney always sounds like a 40s baseball commentator. It's a treat.
Disney: Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover ever
Hasan and John: Hold our beers
Hold our fruit cups
"Hold our Abeer"
Hasan: hold my beer
John: hold this old turnip that’s been in the fridge that someone gave me for some reason
@@rosedempsey9006 John: hold my old turnip

Ftfy
They don't drink....so hold our tea?
You can tell John has been hanging out with kids, he can really speak on their level
“Your sister worked at my Dad’s lawfirm.” I swear once you’re in in this country you’re in.
But if you’re not, you’re screwed.
