I never really thought much about Jimmy Osmond especially as I live by the place he sang about. But after seeing The Osmonds yrs ago and getting his album, I realised he has an amazing voice. So glad I got to see them in concert 🇬🇧 xx
Jimmy is completely underrated as a singer. I was blown away by him when I saw him perform with Jay and Wayne and his range is incredible. This was lovely. It was funny seeming him hold back in this performance so he looked like a novice.
This is great. It's the melody from the double mint gum commercial. I only caught a snapshot of this era having watching watched this from age 5 to 10-ish. Still it had it's impact. As a songwriter it's a go-to. I'm very fortunate to remember this great TV show.
@@karenf1001 The two episodes with Jimmy Osmond were in the second series, that was shown on BBC1 in 1983. ❤ ❤ As a wheelchair user, it was great that they brought disabilities into such a popular show, proving that anybody can use their talent for the pleasure of others.
I don't know if he can speak japanese or if he has just learned to sing Japanese songs by heart. I can sing several Italian songs in Italian language but I can't speak or understand the language.

In pochi sanno che jim osmond è stato un bambino prodigio! In fame ( saranno famosi ) recitava la parte di un ragazzo con problemi, molto bravo nel suo ruolo.
It's not a a round - it's called something else when two parties sing at the same time but sing a different chorus - forgotten what it was called but there is a special (technical) name for it. (I studied music theory all through high school). Believe it or not it was a very popular style during medieval times in choral singing.
You cut out the best part when Jimmy thanks everyone for coming and asks if the audience has a few minutes, he would like to talk to them about the Lord Jesus Christ!
This was truly a fantastic movie and series.... inspirational to the core ❤❤❤

I used to watch this wonderful show. Looking back now, what a brilliant cast. The diversity is exceptional. Wish we could bring FAME back.
They've tried but just wasn't the same when they tried a remake
So fresh and innocent. Shows like that are not made anymore...
Jimmy is completely underrated as a singer. I was blown away by him when I saw him perform with Jay and Wayne and his range is incredible. This was lovely. It was funny seeming him hold back in this performance so he looked like a novice.
He is so underrated. As he got older his voice got better. At least folks in the UK appreciate him.
This is bringing tears to my eyes....in a good way...BRILLIANT
I had such a crush on Jimmy Osmond my he was just so handsome 😍
My favorite show from the 80's . Loved these two ❤ brave!!
Jimmy Osmond clearly is a very good actor and underrated too.
Emmy Johnson Very much so!
Sad that it’s taken until he’s almost 60 to realise that 😞😏
Real music...remember the TV show Fame...

I had no idea Jimmy Osmond was on Fame. He's so cute!!
It was for one or two episodes only as guest
198…. I remember watching it 82 maybe 🤔

I really love this performance by Jimmy and love the song.
Jimmy is fluent in Japanese and I would have loved to hear him sing it that way. And OMG, he looks like Merril's identical twin!
I don't know if he can speak japanese or if he has just learned to sing Japanese songs by heart. I can sing several Italian songs in Italian language but I can't speak or understand the language.
Superlative ❤❤❤❤
I love that episode

God bless Jimmy Osmond. He’s no longer able to perform due to a stroke.

Loved it! ❤
One of my favourites and not heard in years - thanks x
Jimmy and Erica sound good together!
I sang ' mother of mine' to my mum when I was a child which she informed me of years later🙃😉🤣🤣🤣
Carlo Imperato in the audience be like, "Yeah, well I get to sing it on the cast album."
l like jimmy osmond sing on fame too.
Songs are around whenever you need them
Songs follow you wherever you lead them
Songs, they seem to come alive
each time you sing them
Songs, you can play them straight or you can swing them
Songs, don't know how we'd get on without them
Songs, you can hum them, whistle, or shout them
Songs keep you company when you're alone
So find a song you can call your own
You can't go wrong
all you need is a song
Oooh they get you humming
You start a strumming
Just keep them coming
they get you going
You snap your fingers
The music lingers
You get some singers to make a showing
Words and music blending, send you dancing on down the aisle
Songs can bring you memories of
Good times, big smiles
The band is jumping
the music's thumping
It's really something
they hit the ceiling
A hot piano, a high soprano
Do what they can for a happy feeling
Songs bring you up when you're down
Songs are the best friends around
They're worth singing about
All you need is a song
All you need
All you need
All you need

JIMMY IS GOOD A SINGER!👍❤🎶
His voice resembles his, brother Merrill’s, with a bit of rasp.
He had a fantastic voice. A true gavel grit in those pipes.
He did a good job acting as if he is severely shy, as he is not that way. Good acting.
In the album.version the boy who sings is Carlo Imperato.
Jimmy Osmond All you need is a Son G. 💜
Great song
Jimmy osmond so good
Qué recuerdos tan bonitos un beso ❤️❤️ dé España
Que bonito amor de serie

Now Thats how to sing in a round

Just looked it up and the only expression I can find for it is a 'polyphony' - but I still recall there is a much more traditional term for it.
Cool.
wow, this is really good, to be honest I know this song after being performed by P
I totally agree :)
@@sunflowers-in-july yesss... 😂
Peter Noone from Herman's Hermits is who he resembles in this clip.
I thought the exact same thing!
❤
Absolutely brilliant.... but why did they change the singer to the character od danny for the version that appeared on the album.....
I guess it would’ve been down to recording contracts in place at the time, preventing him being on the subsequent album
Did everyone including the teachers call each other before heading to this performance and decided to wear the same colors???
Is this a fame original or a cover? Wonder how CTW was able to require this song for Elmopalooza, the Sesame Street 30th anniversary special, in 1998?
Who else caught kristy mcNichol in the first row?
LEROY SMH 😭😭😭💔💔💔💔...
Just like Donnie

Quando la ripropongono quesfa serie? Meglio di tante schifezze che si vedono in tv in fascia protetta.

Cute song...I just don't remember Jimmy making an appearance on Fame.
Didn't he play a guy with a learning disability
+amy clarke yes he did and did an awesome at it. It, in my opinion, was one of the best episodes of the whole show because of him
Yes, his character had special needs. His performance was Emmy worthy.
Yes, Troy Phillips xx
One of my favourites and not heard in years - thanks x
