- It doesn't matter how great you are or how many times you've won, in the blink of an eye, even the most storied of cycling careers can come to an end. For four-time Paris-Roubaix winner, Tom Boonen, this has almost happened several times over the past 15 years of his career. Injury, however, has failed to set Tommeke back in his quest for a fifth Roubaix title. And with his return to the cobbles close at hand, we followed him to give you a behind-the-scenes look at his preparation for Roubaix and to gain insight as to what still motivates this most legendary of Classics specialists.

What an incredible race. Paris-Roubaix 2016 was simply spectacular. To see two older guys - Boonen and Hayman battle it out in this goliath struggle with Stannard, EBH and Sep Vanmarcke was a true pleasure for any cycling fan to watch.
Please give us one more year Tom. Even if it is just to see the look of panic on Roger de Vlaeminck's face for 7 hours.
Maino1 Would love to see Tom get he's 5th Paris Roubaix before he retires but if he doesn't he will always be a classic's legend

Thank you for this mini documentary. Tom is a huge inspiration for me. I even own a Specialized Roubaix which I love. I am from Canada but am proud to support Quickstep. Tom and the team are such an inspiration. I really hope he wins on Sunday.

This was probably his greatest race in 2016, even as he came 2nd, he was just immense throughout and he deserved the win but he came 2nd and that to me was as good a s a victory, all of the 5 today who arrived on the velodrome can write their names in history, esp Boonen!
+Marcus Maher Agreed. I admit I had written him off at the start of the Classics season, but he proved me completely wrong. He is a champion, and his 2016 P-R race will be remembered much more than any of his four P-R victories.

I really hate the cobblestone road. It's like my bike is falling apart.
Great bike , rides smooth th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L I added a bigger spring loaded seat to it . Takes a bit of adjusting cables to get brakes and shifting to perfect . I've owned quite a few bikes in the past that were absolutely uncomfortable to ride and they always ended up as garage wall decor . I'm not seeing that with this one. It's pretty light I've only ridden it a few miles but I like it . As for the pedals falling off in the other reviews , the pedal arms are aluminum along with the pedal studs look to be also . I would not overtighten them. I can see it would be very easy to overtighten them and strip the threads right off . All in all I think it's pretty good quality besides the aluminum pedal thing

Tom looks so thin compared to ten years ago.. Wouldn't classic riders go faster with a little more weight? There are only small climbs in the classic spring races.
