Insane_Hp_1LE gotta ask, why not upgraded heads? Did they advise it wasn’t necessary? This is everything I’m planning for mine but assumed I had to do heads. Congrats on this build bro, gonna be nuuuuts!!
@@Demsarechomos yeah bill said its really not worth the money to do heads . They can get the same amount of power out of the car because of the procharger
Love!!! the time lapse video for a change!! Allows us to appreciate all the work Matt and Chris put into these builds for your customers...... P.s thanks for skipping the cam shot!! Fran is right enough is enough Steve!!
Absolute beast of a build! Cannot wait to see what this thing puts down. Impeccable work as always, keep up the great work Matt (next time make sure Eric watches for learning)! 😂
I’d really like to see how many labor hours go into these builds, would love to have an idea of what it would be like to get these parts installed at a local shop.
Its a lot, especially if you are getting the block honed, if needed, and brand new LT motor you can drop it pistons with new rings if the cross hatch is still real good, if you changing to main studs u need to line hone the block, measuring the bearing clearance, cam degreeing which oddly i have never seen them show but they should be, file fitting rings. Hours of just cleaning parts, plus the R&R of the engine, and all the other things involved like waiting for parts, customization of parts, then the tuning after everything is buttoned up, not just anyone can do this work correctly, ive been building custom race engines and drivetrains for 23 years now and its thousands of dollars in labor alone, if someone quotes you a real cheap price I'd be very leary, now if you have all the parts in stock, you outsource the machine work and head porting you will save a bunch of time, these guys probably take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks or longer depending on the build and how extensive the internal engine mods are fyi
Derek Stewart GPI makes a set of drop in rods and pistons that are the exact weight of the stock ones, they claim theres no need for rebalancing. I figured this build must be usin something similar as they put em in and buttoned it up. Maybe they cut it out for lengthy purposes tho
@@Dsouth1913 yes there is and its a bit lengthy and boring for most casuals so i doubt they show much of that, still absolutely must measure bearing clearance and atleast check piston to wall clearance, RARELY are custom parts perfect and ive never seen a set of rods and pistons weigh the exact same. They sell drop in components that are close enough that it wont be and issue though and they work on new enough engines to where its much easier to make money doing this stuff because there is a ton of time involved if you are building oldschool engines where almost everything needs work to function reliably, these guys have a brilliant business model and i completely understand only doing 06 and newer GM. Its the best way to actually make money and deliver a good product
If it’s too tight to get the air filter in, because of the ignition coils...why not move them down below the headers? There are several nice kits out there It also cleans up the engine bay and show of those Katech Valve Covers
On that ZL-1 build, the guy is going all out on his motor. So while he's there, why not increase cubes with a stroker or boring it out or both? It's amazing what you guys can do to an engine for pump gas power and i'ts a lot of power.
Awesome job Matt. That Camaro is going to be one nasty beast when done. Can't wait to see it hit the dyno. I'm wondering if there has been a C7 Z06 with a Akrapovic exhaust system on the dump. That exhaust is a screamer and it sound so good. Corsa's are nice but they don't hold a candle to a Akrapovic. None the less that C7 Z06 on the dyno was screaming really nice.
We don’t publicly share what our customers spent on their cars however if you are interested in putting a similar package together for your car please email sales@raceprovenmotorsports.net
Do you guys ever use a degree wheel? I know its tedious and boring to watch, but for significant engine builds, I'd be reluctant to use the factory marks.
Ive never seen them do it either, i can't speak for them but i personally degree every engine i build, ive had cams on LS engines be off 7 degrees, it can kill a lot of power
So not lubing the push rods is ok?? That won’t cause anything bad to happen later? Just wondering cause I’m other videos I see them lube them before putting em in..
RaceProvenMotorsports ok cool I guess with all the work that gets done on these big builds you can’t get every little thing on cam thanks for the reply!
RaceProvenMotorsports damn I missed that I apologize that’s my bad I guess watching street outlaws and watching TH-cam at the same time leaves room for error on my part
Fran should take his race car down to Galot in October for the 28/275 shootout and talk Fletcher Cox into taking his car as well if he's not playing football even if he is maybe his driver could bring his car the payout for the winner was 3k for the race they just put on
Not on engines this new, and if they did need to these rings require a special plateau hone with torque plates, which can be done but on this low mile stuff the cross hatch is still pretty good
Derek Stewart ahh I see, what would you say would be enough low mileage to where it wouldn’t be a concern to hone? Or would it all be based on the cross hatch when taking everything a part?
@@MP3BOOSTED i go off a few things, how much taper is in the cylinder, the crosshatch pattern, and if the cylinders have been fuel washed from a shitty tune. one car could have just been raced the crap out of for 2500 miles and be in worse shape than a babied 15k miles bottom line its always best to have a fresh hone for new rings but its a case by case basis ring technology is a lot better than it use to be, Plus GM is pretty good about building these as close to identical as possible, gotta remember this is a business as well, these are smart guys, im just explaining what i personally do from my own experience
Derek Stewart I completely understand, I just ask out of my own curiosity because I am tearing apart my engine here in a next month to install all my boosted stuff, was going to send the block out to get honed but was going to examine it first incase I don’t have it, I only have 9k miles but I do get on it here and there so idk 🤷♂️, only one way to find out

How much does a forged internals job cost on a LT1 roughly ?
How long before the ZR1 is back together. Did RPM do anything to the diff.?
How much hp should I expect if I do the same mods but with whipple supercharger?
About 100 less, we have plenty of videos with similar setups and Whipples.
I'd like to know what the bill was on that Camaro.

right at 6 fig each, just like rare top dealership techs

No they are exact weight as factory
The pistons and rods are already done as a kit
