The empty cave maps are absolutely baffling, exploring them is the most boring thing I've ever done in a game and in Shattered Space they ADDED MORE OF THEM.
Yep. No clue how this got past any play testers without thinking how boring and empty the caves are. It’s not that there’s a small amount of content for caves, but it’s that there’s literally zero content there.
Been following a bunch of reviews because im fascinated by the (possibly cursed) game design problem of combining unlimited procedural worlds with a space RPG. I think there might be a way to make it fun, but it just needs some new idea I have not seen yet. There are some people who genuinely enjoy starfield. People are different. I think NMS is an amazing achievement but I couldn't personally get into it because it lacks certain RPG elements I would need to feel attached to my character. Although many say Starfield leans too much on procedural generation, one of the most baffling things to me is what it lacks in procedural generation. Why does it spawn the exact same handcrafted locations from a fairly small library without even basic procedural variation? Procedural dungeon crawlers are literally as old as M.U.D.
Exactly. There’s nothing inherently wrong with procedural generation, but when the “handcrafted” content is the same thing copy and pasted over again then what’s the point?
cool man hope to see more content. ignore the people who say it isn't worth talking about or there's too much of it. what there's too little of are mature takes. I appreciate them. keep it going!
Thanks for the support as I genuinely appreciate it. I’ll never let comments dictate whether I keep uploading or not, but I do appreciate their comment and for voicing their opinion. Please consider subscribing to see more of my videos Combo!
Good video but I could not agree more at the end take. Bethesda absolutely should not abandon starfield. Encouraging devs to just tuck tail and move on allows a consumer precedent to be set- enabling this behavior in the future. Rather, consumers need to stand strong and demand Bethesda fix this joke of a title. It can still be great, Bethesda has to want it to be great. They can still improve it.
I see what you mean. They’re still doing at least one more DLC with Starborn, but I could agree that they should have one more chance at Starfield to make it better. Personally, I’d just like to have Bethesda move their team fully to supporting The Elder Scrolls 6 so we could potentially see it in 2-3 years.
I would love to breathe life into this game considering I want it to be good. Bethesda is my favorite game studio so of course I would want to keep talking about it, even if I don’t agree with the design choices. Maybe one day it’ll be a good game, probably not, but why not talk about it and voice what we don’t like so they can potentially improve on it?

"Plagued By Poor Design Choices"
My guess would be laziness.
I think they wanted to have a different take on what a Bethesda title could be but completely failed at it, but I can see how/why you’d feel that way

How do you breathe life into something that should die? Keep talking about it. We all know it's a piece of shit, stop talking about it.
