Paddle Steamer WAVERLEY arrives at Southend Pier on 4th October 2024. WAVERLEY had arrived from London and after calling at Southend Pier, it then departed to Clacton.
As a boy, I often sailed on Waverley in her original role as one of the Portsmouth-Ryde ferries. You could even go into the engine room! I am so happy that she continues to ply the seas.
@@Ronald-o9x Having researched the matter, I believe that Waverley was prohibited from using both Ryde Pier and Yarmouth Pier on the Isle of Wight due to a "hard landing" incident.

It was a lovely calm day as well.
I was on her last year from ardrossan to brodick. Got a bit choppy but she handled it well! Serves great Guinness 🎉!!😊.
