Please release a narrated version of this! To me, this performance is Christmas. I am mid 40s and seen you in concert I think 6 or 7 thimes, and old city bar and this Christmas day still bring tears to my eyes. The performance for this was special to me, and I want to hear the story with the music. Thank you for this magical experience, but please let me relive it with the narrated version.
@@kevinwright1971 I have seen them 6 7 times over the last 15 years, will continue to catch them, every time they come to my town! This about the only x-mas music, I want to listen to! They are pretty amazing!🌲
Never have I seen anything quite like TSO they put on an awesome show no one does it better not even Pink Floyd who has an awesome show, but tso is the Best by far they have awesome singers and their musicians, Joel Hoftra on lead is quite talented and Chris Caffrey what can I say ,and I just love Jeff plate on drums and Mee UN KLM on the keyboards, and my favorite Rowdy Roddy Chung can tear up that violin, Derek Wieland wonderful music director and keyboardist, Tony higginson on bass and the wonder vocals of Georgia Napolitano, Kayla Reeves and Robin Borndmane and the others are great especially Diamond Dustin Brayley I also like Sir Russell Allen ,rob Evans, my girl Eric Jerry and also Lisa leevie from Montreal, Canada the guy from Sabotage who's name escape me and the greatest story teller of them all Bryan Hicks. Hey what can I say its worth the price of admission
My mom was absolutely in love with this album and played it constantly in the car every Christmas. It was this and Tracy Chapman in the center console at all times. When I was 17, my mom's cancer came back, and since she had beaten it before I had no worries. I found out that Trans Siberian orchestra was coming to our city on CHRISTMAS EVE and I could not wait to tell her I was taking her as her gift. She got a serious look on her face and told me not to buy the tickets and I didn't fully understand why. She died just a few weeks later the night of December 16th in my arms, and now I listen to this and feel her most joyous presence with me every time. Love you Mom ❤
This is my first Christmas without my wonderful husband- he passed away in April at 49 years old. I always wanted to see TSO in concert. He bought me this CD years ago and we were going this year to see the concert. I went and brought him with me in spirit. Saw in Orlando on Dec 17,2022. It was spectacular- no words to express how incredible this show is. It completely changed my outlook for this Christmas and I’m feeling joyful. I miss my husband but understand that there is always joy in this season. This will be my yearly tradition as long as I am able to go. Thank you for such an amazing experience. 🌟🎄💜💛
The fact that there is hope, but being sure that life brings us closer in spirit, even in the midst of losses, the miracle of God is to always show his power, if we have faith we move forward. God bless her.
At 54 years old, I have seen alot of concerts over the years. None have ever topped this one. One awesome show that will change the way you feel. Merry Christmas to everyone
And Merry Christmas to you. Today is my 50th and I got tickets to see them in about 2 weeks in Knoxville , Tennessee. Will be my first Trans Siberian show..
@@leescalf9038 brace yourself. Your in for an explosive mind blowing experience. I sat during their concert and had goose bumps, chills up and down my spine and I cried the whole time. Their show is priceless.
My wife and I were out shopping years ago and she asked me if I wanted to see TSO. I was like, who are they. I said sure. So rushed over to Macy's to buy tickets. This was before online ticket sales. We got floor seats about 14 seats from the stage. We were blown away. Seen them almost every year. Great family show. Took my grandsons last year.
My fiance bought this cd back in November of 2007. We were expecting are first child. I was working at a bar at the time and got a second job at an old fashioned drive thru liquor store. It wasn't very busy there so I had a lot of time to play this album while I worked. I immediately gravitated to "An Angel Came Down". Our son, Zakary was born in January and passed away in may of that same year. I can't listen to that song without letting a tear or two out. I can still remember how I felt back then. So nervous but excited too. I know he is with God and is better off with him but I can't help but sometimes feel I could go back. Maybe things would work out this time. Hug and kiss your kids. You're so blessed to have them.
A good friend of mine lost her son a few years back. I'm so sorry that you guys lost your son as well! There's a reason why there's no word to describe a parent who has lost a child. Words cannot describe the pain of such a loss. Your little boy will always be with you in heart and spirit. Love has a way of keeping the ones we care about alive long after their hearts have ceased beating. It hurts and there's always that speculation, but grief is the price of love. For better or for worse... I hope you and yours have a lovely Christmas and all the best in everything.
That's always heartbreaking to read/hear about 😔 that is my greatest fear 🥲 losing my child. Next is losing my husband. I hope you and your family can feel Peace and Hope despite your loss.
I wonder how many people realize this is a concept album. There are three stories intertwined throughout that come together at the end. Brilliant! Not just a collection of great Christmas music, but a veritable rock opera.
I heard Sarajevo 12/24 in the car on the radio. I sat through three other Christmas songs in the parking lot just to hear who this remarkable group was. I bought the CD that week. I saw them in concert a few years later, and they were even more remarkable live.
I heard Sarajevo on the radio back in the 90's. As soon as I got home I called the station to see who they were. Bought the CD and had it on repeat. Took my kids to see their concernt at the Paramount in Seattle. It was a small venue - it was a WONDERFUL show. It became a tradition. We went every year and it was the highlight of Xmas.
My favorite TSO record. Back in the beginning of TSO. It holds a A VERY SPECIAL significance for me. Chris Caffery, Al Pitrelli, Jeff Plate, and Johnny Lee Middleton. Basically Savatage. Jewel's appearance on this album is UNFORGETTABLE. R.I.P. Paul O'Neill, Darryl Pediford, Ossie Davis.
I am praying for this opportunity to see them I have this in DVD and it has my heart I miss my Dad and mom it is so hard to hear this wonderful music but I will never quit listening to this wonderful music I need it it’s not the same without it Praise Jesus
We (my wife & I) fell in love with this the first time we heard it over the airwaves 20+ years ago. We always loved Christmas. This was just our first, and still the only, kick butt Christmas music we’ve ever heard that moved us. They were also fantastic in concert a few years later in Chattanooga Tennessee!
Havent talked to my dad in 3 years...my heart has been in pieces, Operation Save Xmas starts today, and this is my sound track! Gunna swallow my pride and apologize one way or another. Wish me luck!! Merry Xmas everyone! See you live in a couple weeks TSO!❤🙏🏻🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
I struggled with my dad for years. One day I told him I loved him. He cried. I was in my 40's, he in his late 60's. I started hugging him when we saw each other. He would hug me so tight, sometimes my back would pop. Jesus restored all the years the locusts had stolen from us.
First time seeing TSO was around 25 years ago. This year marked my 15th time seeing TSO, 1st time seeing the East group. My little quirk is I have to see them before Christmas no matter where I have to go. I you haven't gone, please convince yourself to make that journey, you will not be disappointed.
Beautiful! Just bought this album on vinyl after listening to it here, unfortunately the website was sold out so I had to buy second-hand, but love the music so much!
I FINALLY had the opportunity to see these talented musicians on stage last night! This album is amazing and as amazing at it is, it does not do their performance justice. So many emotions, so much passion, unlimited energy, truly an amazing show. Will make this an annual thing as long as they keep coming to Florida. Thank you for the wonderful experience !
First Christmas without my two grandma's passed on to a new life within five months this year what I would do to say how much I love them RIP grandma's
My happiest memories of my family were listening to this album on the hour ride to my uncle or grandparents house for Christmas. It always brings me to tears as a grown man, cherish your time with family because you never know when it will be the last time
A very dear friend gave me this CD back in the 90s when TSO was sending thousands of cds to our troops stationed overseas. No other Christmas album compares. The essence of the Christmas message.
I'm 73 and STILL love this music. I first heard them in the 90's. Was driving home and Sarajevo came on the radio. Got home and called the station to find out who they were. Took my kids to their next concert. That became a tradition - it was the BEST thing about Christmas !!!!!
I'm ashamed that this is the first time I've heard the whole alumni. I want to thank from the bottom of my heart. This has brought my some inner peace at a time I really needed it. Merry Christmas to all and please be safe.
Now that you know this wonderful album, the next step is to see the incredible stage presentation. Their yearly tour took a break in 2020, but they're back. Go grab a ticket, they're for sale now-- and you'll see a show you'll be returning to again and again.
Interesting Fact: So the reason many of these songs are instrumental is because the songs themselves are hundreds of years old and are out of copyright but the lyrics (especially in English) are under copyright. Same reason why many company's commercials and TV shows will play Carol of the Bells without the lyrics.
I have been blessed to have seen TSO no less than 15 times. I saw them way back in the beginning (when no one knew who they were) when they played a a very small venue called Mizner Park in West Palm Beach, Florida. I have been back many, many times. Now that I am older and can no longer afford their tickets I cherish those memories greatly. I also passed on this fantastic band to the next generation through my stepsons
I took my kids every year to see TSO as our 'family' gift. This was when they were starting out. It was at the Paramount in Seattle. A small but wonderful venue. They've gotten MUCH bigger now and MUCH more expensive. I feel blessed that we had those times. Wonderful memories.
Saw them Sat 12/14 in Orlando at the 3pm show. Words can't describe what you see and hear. Blown away is close. The guitarists, violinists, singers, story tellers, drummer, other band members and orchestra each deserve their own praises and applauses. Incredible. Every ONE. At the end of the show Al P. was thanking the audience and the cast and crew. After Goodnight and Merry Christmas everyone was starting to leave but I was waiting for the crowds to thin out. Some adults walked on to the stage with a young boy where Al was still standing by the mic. Al stooped down to be eye to eye with the boy and speak to him. Then Al handed over his guitar to him. Al packed it up in a TSO guitar bag and sent him off. Awesome. That boy was smiling ear to ear. You just can't not love TSO!!
That's so lovely :) I'll be seeing the show in Toronto on the 30th. I've been a fan since their inception 20+ years ago but never seen them live. This year the stars aligned in such a way that I'll be seeing them, on the tour celebrating the album that started it all so many years ago
Yeah, they always pull a kid on stage for the final curtain call and give them an autographed guitar. Makes me wish TSO was around when I was that young. : P
@@Sea-Salt every show east and west...night and matinee complete with a soft case and a short cord in most if not all cases...spreading the love of music one young mind at a time ;-)
As the cold weather hit and the days became too short to enjoy the sunlight after work I was immediately dragged to this music to find the warmth and peace we all need during winter. Wonderful music that transposes the meaning of Christmas into songs in such a unique and magical way.
I remember when they were Savatage, Jon and Criss (R.I.P.)Oliva, Paul O'Neill (R.I.P.), and the rest of the band, they were awesome back then, and their legacies are continuing.
Imagine the supernatural war in the invisible realm on the night the Messiah was to be born in Bethlehem, the starting point of His mission to save humanity from sin. The battle between the heavenly places, between the angels and demons must have been furious. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra captures that for me... as well as for the peaceful, sublime moments. All with proper intensity. Which is why we had to see them in concert. It was as good as one would expect. Better. Merry Christmas to everyone... and never forget the price that was paid for us to be able to recall and celebrate... 🎄
I watch the video of this every Christmas. It is one of my favorite DVDs. I've even been known to play the DVD at other times of the year when I want to remember what it was like to have my whole family around me.
I remember listening to this almost every Christmas, my dad is a big fan of Trans Siberian Orchestra! So I practically grew up with this band and this album...Every time I listen to this, my heart fills with warmth and happieness as the memories flood back to me..... How I miss the simple days of youth.... 💖😌
My favorite Christmas music. When I start decorating the tree, the first song is always "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" - cranked up! I never get tired of hearing it.
Magnifique cd ! Noël comme j'aime. Une voix qui rappelle Elmer Gantry Where Are You, Miller Anderson Pictured Within, Vicky and Sam Brown ! XMas Butterfly Ball Tony Ashton and Ronnie James Dio ! Sir Jon Lord Hommage. ♥️ Trans Siberian Orchestra ! Long Live Rock'n'roll ! Rollin !
Without a doubt, the most emotional concert I ever attended was on 12/22/2001. Beacon Theater NYC. First time back in The City after 9/11. No fear, pure joy! TSO at it's best!
Hands down my favorite song by them, and there are so many great ones! Incredible live performances, not to be missed if you have an opportunity to go.

I remember first time I heard it on CBC radio, it was the first release ever! I went wild in the car, could not wait to tell everyone at home, brings me chills every year since, Merry Christmas everyone!
I listened to this album as a kid. My family had just moved into a old farm house and in the bed room that I got, there was a music cd up in the closet on a wire shelf. There was also some peppers from some kind of boardgame, but the cd I found was this one. I played it on a old box TV we had, that had a DVD player built in. I have been a fan on this music ever since. No idea who left the album there but I'm glad they did
We had the honor of seeing you all in concert a few years back. Although I'm only 14 right now, I will cherish the memory of your show and I will carry on the family tradition of watching your movie each Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas, stay safe. We made it through another year :)
Such impressive talent. Love this. Love listening to this as I decorate the Christmas tree. God bless. Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! May everyone's heart be fill with the joy of our lord savior and remember the sacrifices he made for us. God bless everyone!
Your words are profoundly moving. The love you had lasts and will be with you forever. In a similar though all is so different in every circumstance I lost my sister to lung cancer in May 2023 and miss her so badly. I’m her older brother and 70 next January. She was born in 1960 and I’ve another sister whose so important to me and she feels the loss badly too. I hope in Christmas 2024 as you listen to the shared uplifting music here on a varied and well produced album think of the ones now no longer with us. Pray for their memory they gave time and love to you and so many miss our passed loved ones. You make the connection by these words. I hope you are getting the love and happiness to find we all need to love and be loved. God Bless you John
Seen them for the first time in St. Louis on December 30'th I was blown away at the amount of talent on stage, phenomenal voices, musicians, and crew that makes it all happen. Thank you for coming to St. Louis.
I saw them in KC several years ago. I'd never seen anything like it. Wish I could afford to take my family. Unfortunately we don't always get to do what we want.☹️ But so great full for the memory. Play it as decorations go up.Everyone have a blessed Christmas.

This my very first album I have ever listened to of this wonderful band and from then on when I was younger every Christmas Eve and Day we would pull out the loudspeaker and put on this album and every year I listen to it remembering all those wonderful memories of getting what I wanted
What a blessing to have heard and seen them live, a decade ago. Their music....was like none I had ever heard before, performed by a top-flight amazing team of musicians, with violinists running across the stage as they played, yet the sound was consistently perfect. Their presentation was totally mind blowing. It would be amazing to see them in person again. Everyone. sweet dreams. Continue listening to them as I am now here, on Christmas Eve, feeling the same sensations that I did that one winter night. Peace to all.

"You stayed close when I was far away"! Is without a doubt the vocal climax of the album. What a moment.
This remains one of my favorite albums. Purely magical.
I live near Orlando, I wish I could have seen them!
I went to the later show in Orlando!
@@Sea-Salt every show east and west...night and matinee
complete with a soft case and a short cord in most if not all cases...spreading the love of music one young mind at a time ;-)
As the cold weather hit and the days became too short to enjoy the sunlight after work I was immediately dragged to this music to find the warmth and peace we all need during winter.
Tampa's finest!
Saw them again last night! They are phenomenal! They even sang "Cleveland Rocks" for the first time!
My ex wife whom I still love dearly got me hooked on TSO and now I won't go to one of their concerts because without her it is not the same.
When the power of the music does not need visuals, you know they know the truth!
Trans-Siberian is like Mannheim on steriods. Love it!!
They are touring this winter and Christmas. Time to get tickets.
Great song! It's identical to the same song on the Savatage Album "Dead Winter Dead." Didn't even remix it! Yep, TSO used to be called Savatage.
on this date 1976 i was riding a sub 12 hours off the coast of rota spain heading north
Magnifique cd ! Noël comme j'aime. Une voix qui rappelle Elmer Gantry Where Are You, Miller Anderson Pictured Within, Vicky and Sam Brown ! XMas Butterfly Ball Tony Ashton and Ronnie James Dio ! Sir Jon Lord Hommage. ♥️ Trans Siberian Orchestra ! Long Live Rock'n'roll ! Rollin !
This album is now the official Season opener at my house. The greatest Christmas album imo. 💚
An angel came down gets me everytime!
Here for Blaine. Loved you so much brother!!
Without a doubt, the most emotional concert I ever attended was on 12/22/2001. Beacon Theater NYC. First time back in The City after 9/11. No fear, pure joy! TSO at it's best!
Christmas decorating doesn’t officially begin for me until this album plays. It’s a tradition.
That and/or play the movie a Christmas Carol.
me too!
A nice tradition at that.
We watch a Christmas Story followed by the muppets Christmas Carol

This music is so powerful !!! Brings me to tears every time I play it. Merry Christmas Everyone !!!
THERE UP IN THE SKY A STAR TO FOLLOW
One of life's greatest lessons from Paul O comes to all of us from Old City Bar. Forever immortal in words and music.
Exactly. Pure love
I agree 100 percent. Still my favorite song of TSO!!
That little piano hook at the beginning and ending of the second track just stays in my head for DAYS!!!
Every year since I was a kid, my dad has this playing while opening our presents on Christmas morning. Great music
My favorite Christmas music ever. Sarajevo/Christmas 24/7 is my favorite on the whole album. Those guitars are amazing

Merry Christmas to everybody in the lands and the nations god bless everyone
My family listens to the whole album at least tree times every christmas. Finally got to see TSO in concert. It was an absolutely magical experience
Blasting this album on Christmas day... love you guys!
Have been going to see them since 2006 and went again last night truly the best
Shivers everywhere. Awesome album, storm of emotions! Everyone, everywhere,.. wish you happiness and good health.
No idea who left the album there but I'm glad they did
These songs really make me feel the intense Christmas feeling. Feels like Christmas Eve
We had the honor of seeing you all in concert a few years back. Although I'm only 14 right now, I will cherish the memory of your show and I will carry on the family tradition of watching your movie each Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas, stay safe. We made it through another year :)
Going to see them , finally, for the first time next week. Can't wait 🎉🎉🎉🎉
You are in for a treat.
@TLA123y6f finally 🙌 it's tomorrow night. ❤️❤️❤️

Höre dieses Meisterwerk jetzt am 03.04.2024 kann dieses Album immer hören Magie pur ❤❤❤❤❤❤
So many childhood memories listening to this CD. This album is what sparked my love for metal and guitar solos, funnily enough.
My absolute favorite. I love the Christmas Eve and Other Stories show!
I've seen this group 6 times now all over Ohio. They never cease to amaze me. Fantastic show EVERY TIME.
God Bless you
John
Seen them for the first time in St. Louis on December 30'th I was blown away at the amount of talent on stage, phenomenal voices, musicians, and crew that makes it all happen. Thank you for coming to St. Louis.
Yaay to you and St. Lou!
I saw them in KC several years ago. I'd never seen anything like it. Wish I could afford to take my family. Unfortunately we don't always get to do what we want.☹️ But so great full for the memory. Play it as decorations go up.Everyone have a blessed Christmas.
This will be this first time I go see them Wednesday I've lived for this moment
To my old man, thank you for showing me this all those years ago.
To The Old Man... thank you. Rock On.
Trans-siberian orchestra have a marry Christmas 🎄 and a happy new year 🎉 ☺️ 😊 ✨️ 💕 💖 🎉
25 years ago, this album was first released to the masses and a band would become well-known during the holiday season. Happy 25 years to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and hope to see you on stage again soon.
I'm about to be 25 next week and I'll be 25 as TSO. Wow. I'm getting old.
@@WildFirePhoenix96 Haha, how about that? Last saw TSO in person in 2019. Usually see them if they are putting on a new production for their annual tour. I am 25 myself, but in less than three months I’ll be 26.
Don't lie: you know you turned the volume up to max during the Carol of the Bells.
Merry Christmas.
I sure did! Merry very early Christmas!
Not really. Mine's on O Come All Ye Faithful... But whatever! It's TSO! :)
I have it full volume the whole time
Absolutely blasted it during a star to follow into
Christmas Eve Sarajevo is my loud song
Saw it live 2019... the gentleman narrating gave an incredible performance just as moving as the music.
The absolute best! My husband and I saw them in concert several years ago. Its been my favorite ever since. If you get a chance to see them in concert do it.
I've been to a few concerts in my life, but the their music quality was a good as any CD they put out. The show was AWESOME!
Old City Bar has been my favorite Christmas song for almost as long as I can remember!
I agree...amazing song
I used to listen to this as a kid. I still listen every December
Best Christmas album ever
This my very first album I have ever listened to of this wonderful band and from then on when I was younger every Christmas Eve and Day we would pull out the loudspeaker and put on this album and every year I listen to it remembering all those wonderful memories of getting what I wanted
A Mad Russians Christmas and Christmas Eve Sarajevo are two of my favs ! FULL VOLUME ! !
Favorite ringtones as well ❤ 😎
This. Particular. Song. Is. A rembrenance. Of. A loved. One
this (after 30yrs in the entertainment business), is one IF NOT, THE BEST SHOWS I ever worked!
Thank you, Bryan Hartley.... the 5th member of KISS!
Peace to all.
finally time to whip out this album again!
Awesome LP!!! A tradition in my house!!!!
Its great to listen to this again. Seriously sometimes i start at the end of August. I get my earbuds out and put it up to 10.
