2015 US Open 8-Ball Championships July 29 - 31, 2015 Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, NV Filmed in the Predator Arena with commentary by Ken Shuman, Jay Helfert, & Robert LeBlanc
For everyone complaining about racking or shooting delays in pool videos remember that if you're watching this on a computer you can press J to skip 10 seconds back and L to skip 10 seconds forward. K pauses. After clicking on the video twice to pause and then resume you activate the arrow keys for 5 second skips. If viewing on a mobile device you can double tap the left and right side of the screen to skip forward and backwards 10 seconds. Get used to doing this and you can be much more efficient with your time and consume a lot more content.
What the hell is up with all the negative comments on the commentating? Why don't you stop listening for gum chewing and try listening to Ken Shuman's excellent analysis and actually learn something and improve your games? He's the best I've heard at calling patterns. Geezus, I can't think of anyone who bitches more than a pool player.
MikeyD22 His commentating isn't all that great. Pool is a hard sport to commentate since there is literally so many styles and tricks to each shot. Everyone sees things differently so commentating what you think would be better isn't always a good thing. They should try to break down a shot after it happened to why Shane or Jeff shot it that way other than saying he got poor position or this is a bad shot because they personally wouldn't take the shot. Those are my only quirks with it. It's definitely more apparent in the Mosconi cup too.
bob talbot a lot of pace with no "strenght" used, almost as if he throws the cue, putting just enough pressure to not lose it from his hand. at least thats what I think:)
26:05 exhibit A of why pool is dying. "OH this isn't really too tough." Meanwhile the player is playing 3 rail shape for the 8 with the 13 ball and the side pocket as obstructions before the cue ball even reaches the first rail. The arrogant commentary is just such a turnoff to people who are learning the game. Explain the complexity of the shot, don't just sit there and say "oh he should make that..."
Im so excited to watch these players - two of my favorites! Im pretty sure one of the commentators almost said “No sh**” in rack 7. what? Lol! Im sure they are knowledgeable and nice guys, but they could use some coaching to improve their commentator skills.
+Ronnie Civella asinine off topic comment, they are used for no other reason than speed, depending on the hit I can make a corner ball or the head ball with regularity, in 9 ball the wing ball is automatic, click the hyperlink in my comment, watch the world 9 ball championship orcollo vs shane...aside from ball in hand no ball should be touched unless you are spotting it..."learn to break"??? what the fuck are you talking about??
+thestcroixkid the wing ball is only automatic if you are hitting in the right spot and if the rack is tight, rack is only every 'always tight', when you use a magic rack
Jeff need to go back and use Master Chalk because of the way he normally chalking, does he know that Kamui cost $30, I guess some one gave it to him =))
Great match, but who the hell is the commentator who non stop makes chewing sounds into the mic? Bro, I didn’t come here to listen to you eating, I’m here to watch the match.
Why is everyone talking about chewing gum? I don’t think the commentator is chewing gum. His microphone’s gain is way too high, and he’s also too close to the mic. It’s probably a little headset mic that’s way too close to his mouth. Also some simple editing could lower the volume of those high pitch saliva splats. It’s not gum
If the magic rack "hurts" the game, then u need to look within..It gives constant racks every time so that both players get the same table to break. Even playing field.. U need to practice more breaks with that rack..so simple.
the kid is 22 or 23 give him a break he has a chance to be one of the best for a long time if he keeps working at it, for most it takes time to be a consistent champion and rise above all the great players in the philippines

I love you.
Well said. Your comment text should be in the description of every pool video!
"Sleep in the car two or three times and see if you do that again." Brilliant.
I have no idea what order to watch these in... if i watch one it could spoil another i want to watch

Grady, bill I, Danny D, Buddy H,several more have been there and do Avery good job, some r gone, or getting old
I like the commentators
Man how does ignacio break so well with so little effort?
+bob talbot technique
+Galvok I assume that. I'm just wondering technique allows him to break like that.
bob talbot a lot of pace with no "strenght" used, almost as if he throws the cue, putting just enough pressure to not lose it from his hand. at least thats what I think:)
Galvok Good thoughts. I'll mess around with it. see if maybe i can figure something out.
+Galvok Maybe it's a bit of a slip stroke

please edit this video, mute the commentators only. commentators, don't you dare telling us that shane was lucky for making a certain shot.
Jeff had this won early, when SVB breaks dry u gotta make him pay. He doesn't break dry often
Why does the cameraman show so much of the players, and not the table?"??
is that a small table?
30:00 human error...this magic rack shit has got to go
+thestcroixkid I totally agree

if you wanted to know what the difference between a pro and a skilled amateur is, this is it
Facts

Great match, but who the hell is the commentator who non stop makes chewing sounds into the mic? Bro, I didn’t come here to listen to you eating, I’m here to watch the match.
which the price of this table $$ ??
NOEL AKIMANO $5700 U.S. dollars.
I wish they would keep the same camera angle from above so we can watch the shots and the layout more clearly.
Why 7 feet table over here in the netherlands we play on 9 feet table's

Is this a 7' table?
zack 801 yes
I hate when I hear their saliva move in their mouth when the commentate
35 to 65 percent??? More like 50/50 ..saying this before watching the outcome.
the magic rack hurts the game

+Seona Beaufield the magic rack makes it to easy to break and run, many pros love it & many dislike it.
+Michael Smith it gives every player the same consistent rack. How can that be bad?
To easy
+Michael Smith well, I guess we will just have to agree to disagree... Everyone has that right..I just love playing the game. Take care.
STOP chewing gum live dude!!! ol#f
old man peanut butter mouth doesn't need to be eating bananas while doing announcements
Any body else see Mike Dechaine on the opposite table? haha
"Sleep in the Chevy Nova" motel". Ha
can you please please stop chewing gum while your commentating it so unprofessional and besides it sounds like your holding spit in your mouth.
he just has a dry voice
ref moved a ball on accident while moving the rack i would be pissed
lol dechaine doesn't chalk like he used to anymre
cannot watch any of those videos coz of that chewing thing, ew
Man the commentary sucks
Shane is so gross........reminds me of the dominance of Mike Tyson orTiger Woods. You take for granted how great they are (past for Tyson and Tiger).
This magic rack shit has got to go..... That kid has a good shot but no game, shoots to fast and don't think ahead...
the kid is 22 or 23 give him a break he has a chance to be one of the best for a long time if he keeps working at it, for most it takes time to be a consistent champion and rise above all the great players in the philippines
