I've switched to a dropshot rig for channel cats, it helps avoid dropper-loop tangles and you can be sure that it's off the bottom since the hook is directly on the main line. You get the same effect but it's a little less hassle. Great upload as usual, keep 'em tight & wet!
Just put a float on the end of your leader with a slip sinker above the swivel. I love simplicity. And I can fish for cats or steelhead with the same rigging.

Yeah, I think it's better to find a way and stick with it and get good at it. Experimenting every once in a while is definitely a good thing too though. Good luck fishing!
Great video. Would argue that the science is the increased surface area of the bait when using two small baits as opposed to one, therefore leaving much more scent in the water. Nice Walleye at the end.

Good job, I've tried the doubles down in the brackish water but not for catfish , south Mississippi water is a bit snaggy, but heck I'll give it a try , I've always used spot tail minnows for set hooks , trot lines, jug fishing but never much for hook and line , always Worms , night crawlers if possible , I see many TH-camrs fishing the shad , etc.. in cut bait the few times I have tried that here I didn't get a nibble , got me a bit curious to say the least about baits and I've fished all my Life ,57 years, caught Alotta good Catfish as well , thanks for the videos , good job
@@RiverCertified I'll find Maybe in the morning, it's a bit cool after a front yesterday morning slipped thru but ya never know till ya go , went grabbed some frozen bait shrimp just now , I've used the on a set hook or trot Line but I'mma give this a whirl,I gave used them over on the Alabama River system with some luck on hook and line , so it's worth a shot,.one of my night crawler sources sold out I just found out , that's not good, I have one more local and he's in and out Workin construction so I can never be sure ,I usually keep a couple hundred works on hand but due to hurricanes and just the year 2020 in general it's not as I normally do , I wanna give this cut bait a honest effort again, I've tried it but down here the works always worried better and quicker mainly, I may have to commit one Rod , with the double rigging just to the cut bait , thanks for the reply , greatly appreciated, Good Fishing , I'll be watching lol,,,

I’ve always had success catching catfish on my trusty ol’ Zebco 33. 10 lb line catches 10-15 lb catfish no problem. Takes a little time to reel them in, but it’s fun! I always find it funny how channel cats like to “bark” almost every time you get them out of the water. It’s like they’re saying, “put me back in the water hooman!”

If I could send pictures I would...I got lucky and last weekend caught a bunch of walleyes. 2 were over 6 lbs! And a couple were about 3 lbs. Was a blast! Caught 8 total! Totally trying that rig soon!
@@tuxedomask7892 it's funny you should mention that , recently I walked a creek I've never fished before , I went back about half a mile or so , and it was hard to get to, I had to do a lot of climbing on big boulders , but I saw some pretty impressive pieces in some very hard to reach places , for instance there is a cove about 1/2 mile in that has a big boulder sticking out of a cliff face maybe 60 feet in the air , and it has an angel spray painted on it that takes up majority of the boulder, it was actually very impressive

You’re getting old boy....the touch of gray in your beard is a dead giveaway. On a lighter note. I caught my first ever whipper. I was trout fishing and the beast hit the lure. Made me think I had snagged the lure, until it ran. One heck of a fight!
Most enjoyable. Will try the double hook rig, but must confess to struggling with the circle hooks. Only managed one 4 lb. channel on the first trip, but missed many. Struggling with the timing, I think. Let ‘em run and hope they hook themselves, or? Think the blues, that generally just crush it, will be easy enough, but those pick pocket channels are giving me fits. Regardless, leaving the Kahles at home till I figure it out. Thanks!
Nothing wrong with those kahles. I'd argue they can do anything most circle hooks can do. The trick with the channels is ya have to reel down till the rod is folded before you pull it out of the holder. I get excited and forget sometimes haha

It was getting cold in my area, like below freezing some nights, so I figured the fishing was over for this year. However we've had an unseasonably warm November. Close to two weeks of Temps above 70 during the day, with Temps over 50 at night. Maybe it's worth it to try this new spot I was gonna check out next summer, I really miss fishing already and its only been like a month since I last went fishing.
Meanwhile i cant catch a single fish this month!...great vid!

Close to two weeks of Temps above 70 during the day, with Temps over 50 at night. Maybe it's worth it to try this new spot I was gonna check out next summer, I really miss fishing already and its only been like a month since I last went fishing.
