- I'll be the first to tell ya the type of rig doesn't usually make much of a difference for catching fish, but this is a little different. It's nothing new, nothing crazy, but really seems to make difference when the fish are in a neutral or negative feed mood!

Most I’ve caught is 2 in one day
I've switched to a dropshot rig for channel cats, it helps avoid dropper-loop tangles and you can be sure that it's off the bottom since the hook is directly on the main line. You get the same effect but it's a little less hassle. Great upload as usual, keep 'em tight & wet!
There's definitely a lot of different ways to do it. Helps keep it fresh!
Just put a float on the end of your leader with a slip sinker above the swivel. I love simplicity. And I can fish for cats or steelhead with the same rigging.

@@tuxedomask7892 it's funny you should mention that , recently I walked a creek I've never fished before , I went back about half a mile or so , and it was hard to get to, I had to do a lot of climbing on big boulders , but I saw some pretty impressive pieces in some very hard to reach places , for instance there is a cove about 1/2 mile in that has a big boulder sticking out of a cliff face maybe 60 feet in the air , and it has an angel spray painted on it that takes up majority of the boulder, it was actually very impressive

Nice video! I went Saturday for about 8 hours. I caught one small flathead within the first 5 minutes and nothing the rest of the time. Still a hell of a way to spend the day!

Wow, so sad to see the River so incredibly low. I really think we may be at a crossroads with our Planet. It's just going to take a monster winter to bring things back to close to normal. The day you want Wallies and the Catfish are just jumping at you're baits. I'd have to take some and a double play no less. I haven't seen that since my Dad did it when I was a kid. Fond memories. I always done surgeon style loops for my double hook rigs but I'm gonna have to try it your way
Those work, but weaken the line more. They definitely get the job done in a pinch though.
Took me a while to get the circle hooks down too, I just couldn't resist setting the hook. Thanks for showing tying the double hook line. Can't wait to try it. Hope to do as well as you did. STAY SAFE
Yeah, I think it's better to find a way and stick with it and get good at it. Experimenting every once in a while is definitely a good thing too though. Good luck fishing!

Would argue that the science is the increased surface area of the bait when using two small baits as opposed to one, therefore leaving much more scent in the water.

I’ve always had success catching catfish on my trusty ol’ Zebco 33. 10 lb line catches 10-15 lb catfish no problem. Takes a little time to reel them in, but it’s fun!
I always find it funny how channel cats like to “bark” almost every time you get them out of the water. It’s like they’re saying, “put me back in the water hooman!”
That sounds like a whole lot of fun on that gear, and fun is all that really matters!

Good job, I've tried the doubles down in the brackish water but not for catfish , south Mississippi water is a bit snaggy, but heck I'll give it a try , I've always used spot tail minnows for set hooks , trot lines, jug fishing but never much for hook and line , always Worms , night crawlers if possible , I see many TH-camrs fishing the shad , etc.. in cut bait the few times I have tried that here I didn't get a nibble , got me a bit curious to say the least about baits and I've fished all my Life ,57 years, caught Alotta good Catfish as well , thanks for the videos , good job

@@RiverCertified I'll find Maybe in the morning, it's a bit cool after a front yesterday morning slipped thru but ya never know till ya go , went grabbed some frozen bait shrimp just now , I've used the on a set hook or trot Line but I'mma give this a whirl,I gave used them over on the Alabama River system with some luck on hook and line , so it's worth a shot,.one of my night crawler sources sold out I just found out , that's not good, I have one more local and he's in and out Workin construction so I can never be sure ,I usually keep a couple hundred works on hand but due to hurricanes and just the year 2020 in general it's not as I normally do , I wanna give this cut bait a honest effort again, I've tried it but down here the works always worried better and quicker mainly, I may have to commit one Rod , with the double rigging just to the cut bait , thanks for the reply , greatly appreciated, Good Fishing , I'll be watching lol,,,

If I could send pictures I would...I got lucky and last weekend caught a bunch of walleyes. 2 were over 6 lbs! And a couple were about 3 lbs. Was a blast! Caught 8 total! Totally trying that rig soon!

One thing I’ve noticed about cat fishing in the cold, is you really have to get your hooks in the deep. And for that, you need good reels.

If you want a better hook set on circle hooks ,go from front to back through the eye instead of back to front.

Went fishing last Saturday had 2 dropper loop rigs in the water didn't get a single bite

Location is the most important part. Can't catch em where they ain't.
It was getting cold in my area, like below freezing some nights, so I figured the fishing was over for this year. However we've had an unseasonably warm November. Close to two weeks of Temps above 70 during the day, with Temps over 50 at night. Maybe it's worth it to try this new spot I was gonna check out next summer, I really miss fishing already and its only been like a month since I last went fishing.
The fish bite year round, sometimes better than others. Get out there dude!
With circle hooks just wait until the rod goes crazy then the fish is hooked. I use them and so does my granddaughter all the time
