G'day Chris my wife and I love you and Linda's Vlog, very laid back, honest, informative, funny and sometimes quirky. I have come back to this episode to ask where you got your blue motorbike garage T shirt from its cool mate 👌👍
Thank you so much for watching and your kind comments! We genuinely appreciate it! I got the shirt from "Big Size Shop" on the bottom floor of Market Village Shopping Centre. I buy all my clothes from there. A really nice Thai family own that store.
G'day Chris thanks for your speedy reply, my wife and I were in Hua Hin in November and I do remember that shop. Thanks for the tip, we will check it out next year in our return👍 I did intend on checking it out but I seem to remember being distracted by the food hall 😂
thanks for the price comparisons , Guys . $ 39 AUD for JOHNNY WALKER red sounds a tad pricey for Thailand . Still cheaper than Straya . Hong Tong though is FIRE WATER . " Fruit Wine " - sounds suss . Again , $30 for Penfolds Wine ? Hummmm ? GOSSIPS for $ 17 - here costs $ 8-$10 . I guess it just validates what various retirees have been saying - Buy local - eat and drink local is cheapest . Thanks again Guys - cheers from Millstream Qld .
Buy local - eat and drink local is definitely the best advice! You can get Thai wine from Monsoon Valley Vineyard and it's "ok" wine but, surprise surprise, it's terribly expensive! Last time I checked it was more expensive here than equivalent Australian and Chilean wine! WTF? www.monsoonvalley.com/en
We get Benjarong 100% Jasmine Rice. We like it the best but we have not tried every brand available. In our opinion it's the best compromise between price and quality. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@Walk-retirement-travel we have found weevils in our rice once. It was in a 2kg bag of rice that we later discovered was past best before date when purchased. Since then we buy only 5 kg bags of high quality rice and decant 2kg at a time into an airtight container. No further problems. If you have space you can store your rice (and flour) in the fridge. FYI we had far more problems with weevils in Australia than we have ever had in Thailand.
Good morning Parkers how far your house from the market and Cha Am beach. Is there still more available property in your resident? Great info on groceries thanks for sharing 🙏
There is one still for sale as far as we know. But the one next door will be available as soon as it is completed. There are plans to build more houses at the back of us also. Cha Am beach is approx 20 minutes from us but we have major road works happening , Once that is opened it should take less time. Which market are you referring too?

You can get toothpaste in Thailand from every store, including 7-Eleven, that isn't salty. You're right, the Thais like salty toothpaste but there are heaps of "not-salty" varieties from Colgate and other multinational and Thai brands. There are also many herbal varieties.
@@HereComeTheParkers to many countries to be honest. Unless you're drinking Chang, Leo, and Singha of course which is all really awful taste beer although I stopped drinking now anyway. Any healthy imported foods cost way more than most developed countries
@@Mjolnher9 Imported foods are very expensive here . But you can buy imported Aussie carrots for less then in Australia 🤔 We also don't drink a lot of beer. Linda is allergic 😮💨

Have you found weevil in your rice. I see several people saying that it’s a problem in Thailand with rice.

San Miguel Light....Light in calories....100 per small can, normal beer 130
Well that explains it then! Thanks!

A pint is 568 ml so 490 ml is nowhere close to being a pint.
Just saying like.
Brilliant! Thanks for the accurate conversation!
Alcohol expensive there for sure
Compared to where though? Just curious.

Same prices as in California 😆 🤣 😂
Cans are more expensive I guess than bottled beer here. Around 70 baht for a big bottle.
Kewpi is the best Mayo in the world. That's all I buy now in the US. So good.
